New Earning Plan

"Mom, how much of profit did we earn today?", asked Axel.

"You would not believe it, Axel. We earned around 2 million Poke dollars.", said his mother. 

"Are you sure? Like really sure? That is a lot of money.", said Axel.

"Yes, I think we should also start to sell tickets from tomorrow. We will earn a huge amount.", said his mother.

"No, we should not do that. We will do that in the next competition. By that time, people would know about this and they would be eager to pay. This is just a trial run.", said Axel.

His mother and sister were busy preparing food and drinks for tomorrow. Pokemons were also helping them cause that was a massive undertaking.

Next day, 10 a.m.

"Ladies and gentlemen, we are now were for the second day of the competition. The battle would be between pseudo-king-rank Pokemons and finally, there would be a battle between king-rank Pokemons. 

We will now draw the lots to see who would battle whom. The name and the pictures of Pokemons are on the screen now. Who do you want to support?"

This was Agnes. She was back with the mike. All the pictures and names of the Pokemons were shown on the screens.

The lots were drawn and the sequence of the battle was decided.

Pseudo-king rank

1. Nidoking VS Haxorus

2. Arcanine VS Venusaur

3. Scizor VS ALakazam

4. Mamoswine VS Gogoat 

5. Beedrill would move to the next round.

This was an interesting set of battle sequences. Axel wanted to see who was stronger. His starter Pokemon or the dragon-type Pokemon. If Nidoking lost the battle, Axel would be very ashamed. Cause that was his starter Pokemon. 

How could a starter Pokemon lose to any other Pokemons? If Nidoking lost, that would reflect badly on Axel. Axel knew that the training plans for Nidoking had not been right for a long time but now it had been corrected. 

It had also evolved and now it was on the verge of ranking up to King rank. So, he wholeheartedly wanted it to win. 

The crowds were served refreshments before the start of the battle. The service was still not fast but the people of Hakone city understood. 

"The first battle would be between Nidoking and Haxorus. Both of you, come to the battle stadium."

Nidoking Vs Haxorus

Haxorus may not be a pseudo-legendary Pokemon but it was a dragon-type Pokemon. From the audience's perspective, one would think that the battle would be very interesting and Haxorus might also win cause it was a dragon-type Pokemon and dragon-type Pokemon would have high defense and attack stat.

But when the battle ended, the crowd was shocked to their core. Nidoking had won the battle in an overwhelming manner. It literally played with Haxorus. There were 2 reasons as to why it won so easily.

First was its stats and move capability. Its stats were way higher for Haxorus to compete. Haxorus must have recently ranked up to pseudo-king rank while Nidoking was at the peak. It didn't even have to use spinning poison.

Second was the fact that Nidoking was a starter Pokemon of Axel. Any trainer would focus more on their starter Pokemon cause they are the first Pokemon any trainer gets. Meanwhile, Haxorus must have been recently caught by Red and it was not trained very properly cause Red had so many Pokemons to take care of.

Some of the people in the crowd started to chant 'Nidoking's name'. Nobody knew what that Pokemon really was as  the evolution of 'Nidorino' had not yet been discovered by humans and Axel had not published his paper on Nidorino's evolution.

However, they knew that it was a powerful Pokemon. It looked like a battle-hardened Pokemon that one would not want to face. 

"The first battle has been finished. We will move to another battle in 15 minutes. The battle would be between Arcanine and Venusaur. Who do you think would win? You will find out soon enough.", said Agnes and she started to help her mom in the food and drinks department.

Arcanine Vs Venusaur

This would be an interesting battle. Axel wanted to know how they would face and what the result would be. On one hand, Arcanine was a fire-type Pokemon which would affect Venusaur who had grass typing. On the other hand, Venusaur was personally trained by Axel and it was a powerful Pokemon.

If you think that Arcanine's trainer was not even an official trainer, so it must be weak, then you would be wrong. Arcanine had spent a lot of time training and improving itself. It would go to the forest to battle the wild Pokemons and it got the experience from there. So, Arcanine was a powerful Pokemon. It was very fast. At least in comparison to Venusaur. 

Axel looked at its stats:

It had learned 2 new moves which was a huge thing for any Pokemon. He didn't know what it did cause he had never seen it train. It was now trained in training ground but Axel never paid attention to its training. 

"Let the battle begin!!!!"

Venusaur gave a low roar and the grass started to form around the battle stadium. It was green and it looked very fresh. Arcanine also gave a low roar and opened its mouth. A small ball of fire came from its mouth, went high up in the sky and it started to expand. 

This was 'Grassy terrain' and 'Sunny day'.

Venusaur also looked up and opened its mouth. 2 balls of hot fire came from its mouth and it also went up and expanded. That was a also 'Sunny day'. 

Axel could see that Arcanine was confused. First of all, why did a grass/ poison type Pokemon have better mastery over fire type move than itself? And why is it using that move? This move would just help it maximize its true potential. 

Venusaur then used 'Vine whip'. 6 vines came out of its body and came running towards Arcanine. Arcanine dodged the move and it moved forward. Its body was now covered with fire. It was using 'Flame wheel'.

'Flame wheel' was a charge-type attack which also increased the speed of the user. Even with the increase in speed, it was able to dodge the attack perfectly. Suddenly, 2 vines came from the ground and tried to grab Arcanine. It barely dodged the attack and moved forward…

ROOOOARRRRR!!!!

2 sharp wooden spears penetrated its 2 front paws. Venusaur had used 'Wood thrones' and 2 of them had pierced Arcanine. Arcanine knew that it was in a dire state, so it jumped and got out those spears. A patch of flames appeared in mid-air and its paws touched those flames and similar patches of flames appeared in mid-air making a way for Arcanine to run in mid-air. 

It followed those flame patches and moved back and created a distance. It opened its mouth and spewed out 'Flamethrower' which was directly heading towards Venusaur. 

2 balls of yellow light came over Venusaur's head and it fired that in the shape of a beam. This was the upgraded version of 'Solar beam'.

One of those beams clashed with 'Flamethrower'. The power of 'Flamethrower' was higher and it overcame 'Solar beam'. The remaining fire which had won against 'Solar beam' came rushing towards Venusaur and hit Venusaur on its face. 

ROOOOARRR

...cried Venusaur but it was not seriously injured. Its hidden ability 'Chlorophyll' would help it resist ice and fire type attacks. 

The battle went on for 12 more minutes. The battle was long cause both of them had healing moves. Arcanine had 'Morning sun' which would help it heal itself during harsh sunlight and there were 3 balls of the sun in the sky excluding the original one. 

Venusaur also had a lot of healing moves. It was not able to use 'Leech seed' or 'Leech whip' cause Arcanine was very fast and it was able to dodge most of its attack. But it had 'Synthesis' and 'Restore'.

This battle was the the battle of powerful and flashy attacks but who could hold on for a long time? Arcanine did use 'Fire bite' which was the stronger version of 'Crunch' with fire type inside of it. 'Crunch' was already a powerful move. So, a move more powerful than 'Crunch' which could burn the enemy was very overpowered. 

Arcanine was also very good at manipulating fire type energy. It used 'Heat wave' continuously and made the battle arena very hot. This made things hard for Venusaur. 

Venusaur also used 'Grassy Terrain' and 'Aromatherapy' on itself to counter it. Finally, by some luck, Arcanine was poisoned. Venusaur used 'Poison powder' so much that it leveled up to 45 and now also covered a large area. 

After that it was easy. The healing powers of Venusaur were way higher than Arcanine cause it had trained on it for a long time. Axel realized that Venusaur's attack power was lower than Arcanine which was no shock cause it mostly focused on healing and status moves. 

However, he also wanted Venusaur to have a good attacking power. Venusaur's 'Solar beam', 'Razor leaf', 'Wood thrones', and 'Field control' have powerful attacking power but since it just started to train on these recently, it was not very efficient on it. Most of Arcanine's attacking moves would make contact but Venusaur's attacking move would miss out most of the time. 

Axel realized that he needed to seriously train Venusaur in attacking moves and it should have a good amount of experience on it. 

The battle was long but Venusaur won at the end. Even though most of its attack moves had missed out, it had a powerful healing ability, which it could use multiple times and it also had status moves like 'Poison powder' and 'Sleeping powder' which determined the battle. 

"Venusaur has won the battle and it will go to the next stage. The second battle would commence after some time.", announced Agnes.

Scizor Vs Alakazam

The battle showed that experience did matter. Scizor was very old and even though it could not fight or train for a long time, it was more experienced than Alakazam.

Alakazam was a baby when Scizor was an elemental rank but after it was permanently injured, Alakazam started to rise up and now it was very close to reaching king rank.

Alakazam obviously won the battle at the end but the battle went on for 15 minutes. 

15 minutes was a big time for a battle to conclude. 

Alakazam was stronger than Scizor in every aspect but Scizor was a very practical and experienced Pokemon. It did everything to win the battle. Even though it could not train for 13-14 years, it had learned a lot, saw a lot of battles, and envisioned itself in those battles. 

Scizor was very fast. Even though Alakazam had 'Teleport', it was able to dodge most of the attacks. It used everything to its advantage and did its best. If both of them had the same powerful level and move mastery, Alakazam would have lost for sure. 

After the battle ended, everyone, even the people from the crowd was a little scared of Scizor. It was perfect in everything that it did. No one wanted to mess with it and Axel could see that it had earned its lost respect.

Mamoswine Vs Gogoat

The battle was a bit long, around 10 minutes but Gogoat did a fantastic job and won the battle. Both of them used their pre-domain moves and area effect moves. It was raining very heavily with hail but it was also sunny on the other side of the sky. The grasses were more lively and multiple 'Solar beams' were used. 

Mamoswine had worked hard on its defensive-type moves and that was why it was able to hold much longer. Mamoswine would have won the battle but Gogoat used its attack moves in an interesting manner. 

It would use 'Razor leaf' combining it with 'Grass Pledge' making it more deadly. It also used 'Frenzy Plant' and 'Field control'. It would mostly focus on 'Frenzy plant' and only use 'Field control' when needed. This decreased its stamina consumption to a good level. 

The battle was very close but Gogoat won at last.

The first round was over and the lots were drawn again.

There was a rest for 1 hour and the food and drink sales started to skyrocket. This time, Axel's mother and his sister were ready and they did very well. The Pokemons were also very helpful. 

Axel thought that this could also be a very good business venture. Next, he was going to start with tickets, a proper stadium for people to watch the battle, big TV screens and commentators, food and drink, and all the things needed for a commercial battle competition. 

"The first round is over and now we are going to the second round. Who do you think would win? Nidoking or Alakazam? Let's see to find out."

Nidoking Vs Alakazam

This battle was very important to Axel. One was his first Pokemon who he trained for many years without the help of the system. Another was his first official Pokemon, who he trained with the help of the system from the beginning. 

Both of these Pokemons were close to his heart. Alakazam was there when Axel was still a child. They shared many fond memories. 

While Alakazam was like a friend or a big brother of Axel, Nidoking was like a child or younger brother of Axel. Axel was 13 years old when Nidorino was just 3 months old. He had seen it grow up and become such a powerful Nidoking. Axel felt proud whenever he saw the strong build of Nidoking cause he had been with it through the whole journey. 

The same was true for Alakazam too. Axel had seen it grow up and become a  powerful elemental-rank Pokemon. 

So, he knew that he could not choose any side, however, he wanted to predict who would win.

If Nidoking had not evolved, there was a high chance that it may lose this battle but after the evolution, it had grown very powerful. So, Axel could not say who would win.
