368 Last Gym: Blastoise Vs Gogoat
"Blastoise, use 'Work Up' and 'Iron Defense'," commanded Kent.
Blastoise executed both of the moves, 'Work Up' increasing its attack stat and 'Iron Defense' enhancing its defense.
Axel remained silent, but Gogoat glowed in a green light and began to grow larger. A small ball of yellow fire shot from its mouth into the air, causing the temperature to rise. Gogoat had used 'Growth' and 'Sunny Day.' Axel had already completed the battle plan with Gogoat, making it clear that the strategy was in place.
Without wasting any time, Blastoise responded by using 'Rain Dance,' and Gogoat used 'Grassy Terrain.'
'Grassy Terrain' served several purposes. First, due to its hidden ability 'Grass Pelt,' it increased Gogoat's defense and the power of its grass-type moves, while also slowly raising its HP. The battle ground had transformed slightly this time, with the right and left sides filled with water.
Everything was set, and the real battle was about to commence.
Blastoise initiated the first attack with 'Ice Beam,' which was super effective against Gogoat. Gogoat used 'Grass Pledge' to block the attack and managed to dodge it skillfully. It then sprinted towards Blastoise to use 'Horn Leech.'
Both of Gogoat's horns glowed in green light, indicating it was ready for a physical attack.
Axel had analyzed Blastoise's stats and move set.

He realized that most of its moves were special type attacks, and its physical attack stat was rather low. Gogoat getting closer to Blastoise would give it a significant advantage.

Axel expected Blastoise to dodge the attack, but instead, it took the attack head-on. Although the move was not level 40, it was still at level 39, and Axel had half-expected Blastoise to be thrown off by the attack, but it managed to hold its ground.
Blastoise responded with a cruel smile and stomped both of its legs on the ground.
"Gogoat, get out of there!" Axel yelled.
The ground started shaking, causing Gogoat to lose its balance and fall to the ground.
"Go…" it gave a painful moan.
The move was 'Earthquake.'
Gogoat quickly got back up and moved back to maintain distance. Blastoise had won the first bout. Axel hadn't realized that this Blastoise had incredible defense. It was hurt by Gogoat's attack, but it seemed to be just a scratch.
"Blastoise, use 'Life Dew' and 'Aqua Ring,'" commanded Kent.
Taking advantage of those few seconds, Blastoise used these two moves. 'Life Dew' scattered mysterious water over the ground, healing itself, while 'Aqua Ring' surrounded Blastoise with a veil of water, continuously healing itself during the battle.
The battle had just begun, but it seemed to be already over for Gogoat.
First, Blastoise's hidden ability 'Rain Dish' allowed it to recover a minuscule amount of HP during rain, and thanks to 'Rain Dance,' it was raining. Second, it had already used 'Iron Defense,' which further enhanced its defense. Third, it had now used 'Life Dew' and 'Aqua Ring,' which further increased its HP during the battle.
Blastoise had become an absolute tank. If it had good attack powers, then Axel would lose this gym battle. The move 'Water Manipulation' was giving him shivers now.
"What will you do now? Can you come out of it?" asked Kent with a smile. He knew that Axel had already realized half of his plan for this battle, but even if Axel knew about it, he couldn't do anything.
"Gogoat, start using 'Bullet Seed,'" Axel instructed.
Gogoat opened its mouth and started throwing the attack. 'Bullet Seed' didn't have high attack power, but it could be used many times. As of right now, Gogoat could use it four times continuously, each time throwing five seeds from its mouth.
Blastoise, just like last time, didn't dodge the attack but instead took it head-on. Some of the seeds struck its body, while others fell to the ground.
It seemed to have high defense, and Gogoat was not able to break through it.
"Let's get serious. Blastoise, start with 'Water Pulse,'" shouted Kent.
Blastoise opened its mouth and sent a pulsing blast of water towards Gogoat. Axel realized that the water beam was sharp and thin.
Gogoat didn't need any instruction and started to dodge the attack, but it couldn't completely evade it. The power of the attack was enormous, and Gogoat was thrown from its position. Axel could see a huge wound on its stomach. The water was not only forceful but also had a lot of pressure.
"Is this Water Manipulation?" asked Axel.
"Gogoat, use 'Bullet Seed' again," Axel said.
Due to its injury, the attack was not up to the mark. Some of the shots missed Blastoise, and it wasn't even trying to dodge. Blastoise knew that such an attack wouldn't hurt it.
"Blastoise, let's put it out of its misery. Finish it with 'Hydro Cannon,'" shouted Kent with disappointment.
He had researched Axel's history and his Pokémon. He knew that Gogoat was the most powerful Pokémon on his team, but he was still disappointed with this battle.
The two cannons on top of Blastoise's shoulders started to charge, and a blast of water came out.
There was a huge difference between a normal 'Hydro Cannon' and this one. This 'Hydro Cannon' was thin and sharp, exerting a lot of pressure, making it deadlier than its normal counterpart.
Gogoat would be seriously hurt if hit by this attack.
"I guess it is time now. Gogoat, do it!" shouted Axel.
Suddenly, multiple explosions surrounded Blastoise. Each blast was huge and deadly, leaving everyone bewildered.

"What is that attack? I haven't seen Gogoat using it before," asked a middle-aged man.
"Whatever it is, the battle is going to be interesting. I thought Axel would lose too fast," said another.
Similar comments were heard from the crowd.
Axel didn't care about them. He had to concentrate on this battle.
Due to these multiple explosions, Blastoise couldn't maintain its balance, and Gogoat was able to dodge the attack.
"Gogoat, use 'Sunny Day' and fire a 'Solar Beam' at it," shouted Axel.
Gogoat used 'Sunny Day' again, making it stronger, and it also disturbed the flow of rain, causing it to disappear.
These multiple blasts came at irregular internal within 2-5 seconds. When 1 went off, another one would come within 2-5 seconds. Blastiose was getting annoyed with it.
The blast also did some damage to it. It was slowly accumulating damage now.
"Blastoise, use 'Withdraw'" shouted Kent but due to this blast, it was not able to do it in time.
A powerful yellow beam of light hit Blastoise and this time it was thrown off its position. The light was 'Solar beam'.
Due to the effect of 'Sunny day', 'Solar beam' didn't need to be recharged and it was a powerful attack.
"Gogoat, use 'Milk drink' and 'Grassy terrain' again."
The effect of 'Grassy Terrain' was starting to decrease. So, he told it to use it again.
By the time Blastoise stood up, it had also used 'Growth' again.
The 'Aqua ring' had been disabled and the effect of 'Life Dew' was also over. It was also not raining so Blastoise didn't have any Hp increasing move right now.
However, it had also healed a lot due to this but it was still hurt. The combined effect of that blast and 'Solar beam' was nothing to scoff at.
"You are an interesting trainer Axel. Don't worry, I would give it my all. Blastoise, use 'Bubble'"
Blastoise started to make multiple bubbles from its mouth and started to spray toward Gogoat. Normally, 'Bubble' was one of the most useless moves but this 'Bubble' was entirely different.
These bubbles were not round shape, it was in arrow head shape. It also didn't look weak that would go off with a touch, it looked hardened and deadly to pierce.
What the hell was that Blastoise eating to do this kind of things?
That was a thing going on Axel's mind.
"NOW!!! Do it.", said Kent.
Those bubbles moved at extreme speed to strike Gogoat.
"Gogoat, use 'Field control' and try to block it"
'Field control' had leveled up to 44 and it had greatly powered up.
5 Trunks of trees started to come from the ground rapidly and it covered the area where those bubbles came.
The bubbles started to pierce those trunks but by the time it came towards Gogoat, it was able to dodge the attack.
Blastoise started to concentrate. The water from the right and the left side of the battlefield started to heat and steam started to form. Suddenly something amazing happened.
The water started to rise up from the ground and it started to move towards Gogoat.
Even though it had used 'Field control', those trunks were not able to block the whole body of water.
The body of the water rising to hit it was huge.
"Gogoat, use 'Bullet seed' while dodging the attack", shouted Axel
