Gym battle- Golbat

'Well, that went well,' thought Axel as he immediately went to Mamoswine and gave him an antidote.

You couldn't use the antidote in the middle of the battle, but if the Pokemon won, then you could administer it. Axel had bought a high-class antidote. He knew that he was going to fight Koga, so it was necessary.

After using the antidote, Mamoswine was cured, but it was huffing and puffing and not in its best health. It might not be able to win against the next Pokemon, but that was alright. Axel had another surprise for Koga if Mamoswine went down.

Koga threw a Pokeball, and out came Golbat. Axel looked at Golbat's stats:

Axel already knew what 'Poison blast' meant, but he didn't know what 'Blood extract' really was. He could guess it, and if his guess was right, Mamoswine was definitely not going to win this battle. Mamoswine had multiple injuries from the earlier fight, and there was a lot of blood in its body now. If Axel's guess was correct, it was going to be difficult.

"Golbat, use 'Poison gas'," commanded Koga.

"Mamoswine, use 'Ice domain', 'Blizzard', and 'Calm mind'," Axel ordered.

Axel didn't want the poison gas to spread, so he immediately told Mamoswine to use these three moves. 'Ice domain' had already deactivated, 'Calm mind' was to make its Special Attack and Special Defense stronger, and ice-type attacks were super effective against Golbat. Golbat couldn't spread the gas as Axel expected, but it dodged 'Blizzard' as much as it could. However, it was still hit by the attack. The power of 'Blizzard' had decreased, and Mamoswine was growing tired.

Golbat came near Mamoswine and used 'Supersonic'. Mamoswine started to get confused. Golbat followed up with 'Confuse ray', leaving Mamoswine properly confused.

Koga told Golbat to use 'Poison gas' again, but Axel again told Mamoswine to use 'Blizzard'. Even though it was confused, 'Blizzard' had an area effect, and it hit Golbat.

Getting hit by 'Blizzard' twice while being in the 'Ice domain' was not a pleasant experience for Golbat. It was already hurt.

Golbat was to use a new move, 'Sludge wave', and this time Mamoswine was finally hit by the attack. It was also an area-effect attack, and Mamoswine was too tired to use 'Blizzard' again. Purple patches started to form around Mamoswine's body. Mamoswine had been poisoned again.

"Mamoswine, use 'Anchor shot' and then barrage it with your tusks," Axel commanded.

Mamoswine extended the 'Anchor shot' from its tusks, but it was unable to catch Golbat. Golbat was very nimble, and Mamoswine was confused. Seeing no way out, Axel told Mamoswine to use 'Sand attack'.

Mamoswine hurled lumps of sand around Golbat. Golbat was coming near to use 'Wing attack', and its eyes were hurt by the attack. Taking advantage of those few seconds, Axel told Mamoswine to use 'Anchor shot' again.

The chains came from its tusks, but this time the color of the tusks was different. Instead of silver-white, they were ice-white, with vapor coming out of the chains. Mamoswine used those chains to bind Golbat, which was still confused from the 'Sand attack'. When the chains bound Golbat, it gave a loud cry of pain.

Mamoswine's Anchor shot has leveled up to 40. This Anchor shot is now a mixture of ice and steel type.

Axel had been trying to make Mamoswine learn this move to level it up to 40. Since the chains come out of its tusks, and its tusks were made of solid ice, Axel wanted those chains to be made of ice too. The result was even better as those chains had the interior of steel and the exterior of ice. Ice-type attacks were super effective against Golbat.

Mamoswine brought Golbat closer and was ready to use 'Icicle spear' again, but Golbat was faster. Golbat somehow managed to get out of those chains with its new move, 'Poison blast'. It turned out that using 'Sludge wave' was also enough to trigger 'Poison blast'. This distracted Mamoswine, and Golbat was able to break free from the chains. Mamoswine knew that if it was hit by these spears, the battle would be over.

Golbat then used 'Blood extract', and suddenly the blood in Mamoswine's body started to get sucked toward Golbat. It was a surprising sight to behold as the blood transferred toward Golbat in the air.

Mamoswine gave a painful cry as it was further hurt by the attack. Axel checked its stats and saw that its health was around 1000. He knew that the battle would soon be over, and he wanted Mamoswine to do maximum damage before the fight ended. It was still not out of confusion, but Golbat's confusion-inducing attacks seemed to be very powerful.

However, suddenly its eyes gained clarity. It was able to snap out of confusion due to the use of 'Calm mind'.

"Mamoswine, use 'Endure' and then use 'Blizzard'. Try to concentrate the power of Blizzard on Golbat only."

MAMOS!!!!

The icy air started to move, picking up its pace. Chunks of ice started to concentrate towards Golbat. The full power of 'Blizzard' was now directed solely at Golbat. It happened so suddenly that Golbat couldn't comprehend it. The move hit hard, and Golbat was now completely frozen by the chunk of ice.

Mamoswine bent down, and it fell to the ground. It had fainted. The power of the move was strong.

Mamoswine's Blizzard has leveled up to 40. It can now control the flow of the attack.

'Blizzard' was an area-effect move, so it wasn't concentrated on a single spot. Since it was now concentrated, its power more than doubled.
