Bruno Vs Lance 1

"Come out, Crobat!!!", said Bruno and threw the ball in the air. 

"Bruno had started with Crobat, his best Pokemon. This is going to be interesting.", said the commentator.

Lance didn't want to use Arcanine at first but he had no choice. Arcanine was his best Pokemon and he wanted to use it at last. But now he had to use Arcanine.

Lance threw the ball and Arcanine came out.

"Are you both ready for battle?", asked the referee.

Both of them nodded their heads.

"Let the battle begin!!!"

Arcanine immediately started with 'Extreme speed'. It was so sudden that 'Crobat' could not even dodge it. However, the poison-type moves of 'Crobat' were deadly. Axel was sure that it had a poison-type core inside it. 

It started to use 'Sludge wave' and 'Sludge bomb'. Arcanine was very nimble and fast. It was dodging most of the attacks and had also landed a 'Flamethrower'. Yet, that was not enough to take down Crobat.

The battle went on for 10 minutes and now both of the Pokmeons were tired. 

Crobat had more injuries than Arcanine. This showed how good of a trainer Lance was. Crobat was obviously stronger than Arcanine but the battle strategy of Lance was supreme. If the battle went on the same flow, Arcanine would win. 

That was when Crobat did something different. It roared out loud and its body started to release a huge amount of poison. The poison touched the ground and the ground started to evaporate. It looked like acid. The interesting thing was that the amount of acidic poison released by Crobat covered around 5 meter radius. 

Axel knew what that was. It was a pre-domain move. Crobat was a pseudo-king rank Pokemon and it was not surprising that a pseudo-king rank Pokemon had a pre-domain move but a pre-domain move was very hard to create. 

Axel could do it cause he had the system but Bruno didn't have the help of the system. So, how was he able to accomplish such a feat?

Lance knew that he could not win against Crobat now. So he told Arcanine to jump high to dodge the attack and fire up a 'Flamethrower'. The 'Flamethrower' connected and then Lance called out Arcanine to its ball. 

This was a smart move by Lance. On one hand, Arcanine didn't lose as you could call out your Pokemon in league battle and call them in again. On the other hand, Crobat's stamina had rapidly depleted by the pre-domain move.

"Lance is given 10 seconds to call out his next Pokemon.", said the referee.

Lance took his time and on the 9th second, he called out another Pokemon.

He didn't speak out loud and just threw the ball in the air.

It was a Pokemon that resembled a slightly insectoid, bipedal dragon. It was primarily light green and had a pair of large rhombus-shaped wings with red trim, toeless hind legs, and skinny arms with three-clawed hands. Its tail had several dark green stripes and three small green rhombus shapes with red trims at the end. It had large eyes and a pair of green antennae that pointed back. Its eyes have red covers that prevent sand from getting into them. 

It was a Flygon.

"The battle had turned. Lance has used his second Pokemon, a Flygon. Lance had not used any other Pokemon other than Arcanine in this league battle. He had won the previous battle by only using Arcanine. I was thinking that he would never have to use another Pokemon.", said the commentator. 

Lance used Arcanine most of the time cause it was his most powerful Pokemon. But it must not be forgotten that Lance was a dragon trainer. He had many dragon-type Pokemons. He used Arcanine till now cause Arcanine was the most powerful of them all. 

Dragon types were hard to raise. It would take a lot of time for them to rank up but when they rank up, they would be extra powerful. 

Flygon was also a pseudo-king rank Pokemon. It was truly an achievement for Lance to raise a dragon-type Pokemon to a pseudo-king rank.

Crobat fainted after these 10 seconds. It was in its last legs and it had used a pre-domain move at that time. So there was no way it could battle Flygon now. 

Bruno called Crobat back and proceeded to use his next Pokemon. Everyone had seen Crobat and Primeape of Bruno. But that was it. 

Axel knew that Primeape was a bit weaker than Flygon so what was Bruno going to do? Was he going to use another Pokemon? He wanted to see what Pokemon Bruno would use.

"Come out!!!", shouted Bruno and threw the ball in the air.

It was a bipedal, dinosaurian Pokemon that resembled a large theropod. It was brownish red with scaly patterns on its skin and scattered orange highlights on some scales and ridges. Its head was proportionately large with a blunt, ridged snout and powerful jaws. It has black around its eyes and a light gray lower jaw covered by a beard of white, primitive feathers. Several sharp teeth were visible in the lower jaw, while the upper jaw was lined with orange-tipped, tooth-like projections. Over its eyes was a row of five spikes resembling a crown. Around its neck was a feathery white ruff that extended over its shoulders similar to a cape. Its underbelly was gray with white borders and there were two orange spikes near the tip of its long tail. Its small forelimbs have only two black-clawed digits each, but it had powerful hind legs with three black claws each. Plated, armor-like ridges cover its knees, back, and the top of its tail. 

It was Tyrantrum.

ROOOOARRRRRR

It was a powerful Pokemon that was not found in the wild and it was very hard to get. You must have some sort of a powerful connection to get a Tyrantrum and Bruno had one of those. 

Axel's head was spinning. From where did Bruno have such a connection?

Everyone was so surprised by Tyrantrum that they forgot to notice its rank. It was a king-rank Pokemon.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. We have our 3rd king-rank Pokemon. First was Steelix, then Nidoking, and finally Tyrantrum. Does that mean Bruno also has multiple king-rank Pokemons? We can only make a guess for now."

Axel could see that Lance's face was drained. He slapped his face and got ready for the fight. He was not going to surrender. Even if he lost, he would lose with pride.

After 15 minutes,

"Dragonite has lost the battle. Bruno and Tyrantrum win!!!", said the referee, and the crowd erupted. 

Flygon could not do anything to Tyrantrum so Lance had to use his third Pokemon and that was Dragonite. But Dragonite also lost to Tyrantrum. Lance had finally lost the battle and now he is knocked out of the league battle.

He would have been happy if he had lost against Axel cause he personally knew how strong Axel was. But losing against a guy like Bruno was not something he had expected.

"Dude, are you okay?", asked Axel. Axel was trying to calm Lance down. Lance may seem like a joker type but he was serious about league battles. 

"Yes, I am good. I cannot believe that Bruno had a king-rank Pokemon.", said Lance.

"Yes, I was also surprised.", said Axel.

Lance was still upset that he lost. 

"Lance, before you met me, you were not even trying to compete in the league battle. Then you thought to do it and you would have won if it were not for me and Bruno. 

So, don't feel upset. Think about your decision and how powerful it made you. It is not a loss for you but a victory."

Lance looked up at Axel and said, "You are right Axel. I should be happy about it and I should train even harder."

"You are damn right I am right. I can't remember the goddamn time I was wrong. Now take a rest. Lorelai and Clair are coming. I have a battle to win.", said Axel.

"Axel, beware of Bruno. Something about him just doesn't seem right.", said Lance.

Lance gave his warning and Axel could understand it. Axel got to this point due to Red and the system. Lance had his family. What did Bruno have? He didn't know. He now knew that Bruno had something or someone supporting him but he didn't know what it was. 

He knew most of the prominent families in the Kanto region and he was sure that Bruno came from none of them. If he did, Lance would have known. So, where did he come from?

Axel wanted to get to the bottom of this but first, he had to battle Bhim.

"This is the second match of the second round of the finals. Who will win this? Axel or Bhim? We can only make a guess but we can say for sure that there would be a lot of drama.

Let's witness this movement and see the result of the fight….."

The commentator went on and on trying to make the battle more interesting and the crowd was buying it.

Internally, everyone knew that Axel was going to win but they wanted to see it happen. Nidoking was one of the most powerful Pokemon in this league battle and everyone was sure that Axel would use it.

Both of the contestants came out to the battle stadium. Before the referee could even say anything Bhim raised his hand in the air and said, "I forfeit!!!"

The crowd booed Bhim. Some of them were saying that he was a coward, some of them were saying that he was weak and some of them were saying that he didn't have a backbone.

However, Bhim didn't care. He knew that he could not win against Axel. He might not be able to win against Dani. How could he win against Axel? He had seen the limits of powerful Pokemons and he was going to invest extra time to train and be stronger.

"Can you tell me the reason for your surrender?", asked Axel.

"You know why I surrendered but I will tell you. I am weak and my Pokemons could not defeat your Pokemons. That is a fact. I cannot live in a delusion thinking that I have a chance to win. 

I have seen the power of your Pokemons and seen all of it. I would like to go out of here and train myself till I can beat you in the future.", said Bhim.

Axel nodded his head.

"Axel wins and goes to the final round of the finals!!!", declared the referee.

"Do you think that Bhim made a correct decision? I mean I know he was going to lose but to surrender? Was that the right decision?", asked Anita.

"I think that is a great decision. It was a hard truth to swallow for Bhim but he was right. If he could not beat Axel, what was the point of battling him? I think he should garner all the experience from this league battle and train extra hard for the next league battle."

"But doesn't that show cowardice?"

"No, I do....."

The judges were discussing Bhim's decision. The crowd was getting ready for the finals. Axel was a also bit excited to win the finals and beat Bruno. He didn't know how many king-rank Pokemon Bruno had.

He was waiting for his Shedinja and Charizard. Axel saw their real-time location and they were still very far away.

Axel thought that Shedinja might not be able to make it. Charizard was also slow but it was still near than Shedinja. 

He just hoped that the finals would be a bit late. He wanted to crush Bruno with all of his power.

The final round of the finals was going to be held after 20 days. It was not necessary to wait for so long but that was the rule and frankly, it was in Axel's favor. 

2 of his Pokemons were still on the way and Axel needed them to fight against Bruno. 

Days went by and Axel had finally done a full background check on Dani. All the things that Dani said were true and he was a bit relieved. He then called for a vote.

Dani was not expecting a unilateral approval but she was surprised. All of them had approved and now Dani was finally going to be part of their team. With Dani, the team had fulfilled all the conditions. Dani was not going to be the lieutenant of the team. 

She was very knew. She had 6 pseudo-king rank Pokemons but she had no experience of Tide and she didn't know any of the team members. So she was not a good choice for being a lieutenant. 

So, Axel still chose Dornton to be the lieutenant of the team. Dani would be the lieutenant on the paper but Dornton would be the real lieutenant. 

15 days passed.

Axel could feel that Alakazam was very close to ranking up but it was just not there. If Alakazam could rank up to king rank, it would have been great cause he would have 5 king rank Pokemons. 

Only 5 days were left now and Axel was exited and nervous. Bruno was something that he could not figure out. He showed the aura of confidence but that was it. Axel didn't know if he was lying or just acting arrogant. 

Charizard and Shedinja were still far from the location and they could not reach here in 5 days. He just hoped that the finals would extend for some days and his prayer had reached Arceus but not the way he liked.
