S2E23:Calling Home

So after winning the Plain badge from Whitney Foxx, Jessie and James all head for the pokecenter so Foxx could make a call before they make the four day trip back to Kurt's. So once inside James and Jessie go over and find a seat to wait for Foxx while he placed his call.

"Hello Professor Oak's lab how can I help you?" asked a young lady.

"Oh is Professor Oak not in?" asked Foxx slightly saddened.

"No he just not able to come to the phone I can take a message." replied the lady.

"Just tell him Foxx called and I'll just try back in a few days." sighed Foxx about to hang up the phone.

"Oh Foxx wait he wanted to tell you something and actually told me that you're the only person he would stop working long enough to talk with you. So just wait right there." replied the lady.

Foxx then waited and after a few minutes Professor Oak came on and said, "Foxx my boy did you get the package I sent you alright?"

"Not sure pa. I'm up in Goldenrod City right now I had to come help some friends with a problem." explained Foxx not sure how to really explain that he knew his parents weren't dead and that he knew who they were.

"Oh, well then what's the matter son?" asked a puzzled Professor Oak.

"Well it's concerning my parents." sighed Foxx, "I know they're not dead and that they were part of Team Rocket."

"So you found the blouse." sighed Oak as he tried to think of how to best explain things.

"Pa I know why you hide it and why you lied to me and I don't blame you one bit. In fact I was calling to see if they could come to the family Christmas Dinner?" asked Foxx.

"You mean you've met them? You've talked with them?" asked a baffled Professor Oak.

"Yes and I think you'd like them once you got to know them a little more. They're going to be helping me at the gym me, Misty and Brock has set up while I work on my studies and they work on their skills as trainers." replied Foxx.

"But can you trust them not to run back to Team Rocket with your secrets and inventions the first chance they get?" asked a very concerned Professor Oak.

"Pa, they're not part of Team Rocket any more. In fact it was them that I came to Goldenrod to help. You see their not the best trainers and tend to be a bit of goofballs so their leader took their personal pokemon and forced them out. I went there to confront their former leader and won back their pokemon." replied Foxx.

"I see." replied Professor Oak.

"So Christmas? Can they come?" asked Foxx.

"I don't know son. Gary will be back this year and The Ketchums will be joining us. I'm not sure bring former Team Rocket members around will be the best idea son." sighed Professor Oak.

"Well then I guess I'll just stay here for the holiday pa." sighed Foxx trying to hide his sadness from his parents who're watching him from afar off.

"Now son I didn't say you couldn't come." replied Professor Oak.

"Pa I've missed out on nine Christamses with them already I'm not going to miss out on anymore." confessed Foxx.

"I understand and they are family I guess as long as they don't wear their Team Rocket uniforms and are on their best behavior then I don't see why they can't come." replied Professor Oak.

"Thanks Pa I may start home early because I'm thinking about hitting a few gyms once I'm back in Kanto." replied Foxx.

"I thought you weren't going after the pokemon league challenge son?" asked a confused Professor Oak.

"I'm not I've just have managed to collect so many in my travels so far between the Battle On The Train, Crashing a Ladies Retreat on accident mind you, and then helping my parents. In fact if my memory serves me correct then I only am three short of having all of the Kanto ones already." explained Foxx, "Plus what harm could come from me having some of the badges even if I'm meant to be a poke Professor or Breeder or whatever?"

"I guess you're right there son." replied Professor Oak, "That reminds me hope your parents won't mind me calling you son at dinner."

"I think they'll understand pa." replied Foxx before hangin up the phone.
