SP 2: Garry VS Brock

Two days before the evolution of Eevee too Umbreon, Gary finally reached place, that the first trial for the Qualifications to participate in the Kanto league is. Pewter City a place full of huge boulders. The houses and every building is made out of stone and at the left part of the City, exists a building as big as an Onix made completely out of huge boulders.

"Finally i reached this City. It's finally time to challenge this gym."

But lady luck had other plans. As soon as Gary reached the receptionist, he was informed that a challenger is already battling with the Gym Leader Brock. Luckily for Gary, he could wait at the stands watching the match.

When he sat down he saw a half naked man commanding a Rhyhorn. While in the opposing corner, a samurai dressed youth with a large bug catching net, was using a Butterfree, duking it out in a field, with boulders and spires made of rock.

SAMURAI: Ok Butterfree use Confusion.

Then Butterfree eyes emitted a psychic wave sending the Rhyhorn back.

SAMURAI: My Butterfree is too fast for a slow Rock Type Pokemon.

BROCK: You think so? Let me teach you the hard rock way, of the Rock Type Pokemon. Rhyhorn use Scarry Face.

Then Rhyhorn emitted a strange glint on both eyes, transmitting it's murderous intent on the opposing Butterfree slowing it down by 2 stages (Half).

SAMURAI: Butterfree confusion again.

BROCK: Rhyhorn push through it and use Furry Attack.

Then Rhyhorn stated running through the Confusion and hit Butterfree 4 times in quick succession with it's horn.

SAMURAI: Butterfree Sleep Powder.

BROCK: Thunder Fang.

Brock's Ryhorn reacted faster at the order of it's trainer and was very close to the Butterfree. So unfortunately for Butterfree, it was directly hit by the Thunder Fang and was directly knocked out.

SAMURAI: You did well Butterfree. My ACE Pinsir go.

Then a Pinsir appeared out of it's Pokeball with a loud roar.

SAMURAI: Pinsir use Seismic Toss.

BROCK: Rhyhorn dodge to the left and use Furry Attack.

Unfortunately for Rhyhorn the opposing Pinsir moved a bit faster grabbing it and after performing a colossal jump, Pinsir smashed Rhyhorn into the Hard as rock solid arena.

SAMURAI: That's it. Now finish it with Rock Smash.

Then Pinsir punched the Ryhorn hard on the head knocking it down.

BROCK: Nice work. But you need something better to face my ACE. COME FORTH ONIX.

Then a colossal snake made out of huge rocks appeared.

SAMURAI: OK Pinsir use Rock Smash.

Then Pinsir run straight for Onix, but the order of it's trainer, gave it, a very hard hit on the Pinsir.

BROCK: USE HEAVY SLAM THEN USE BIND.

Then Onix covered in a silver metallic luster slammed it's humongous body, right on top of the poor Pinsir. Right after that Onix coiled it's tail around the Pinsir squishing it hard.

PINSIR: PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINSSSSSSSSSIIIIIIIRRR!

SAMURAI: NO PINSIR. USE ROCK SMASH TO FREE YOURSHELF.

The cosplayed Samurai screamed full of worry.

Pinsir grinded it's teeth, punching multiple times the Onix, lowering it's Def thanks to to Rock Smash Move effect.

Brock at that moment applauded his young opponent, for even in a dangerous situation like this he managed to hurt his Onix. But he needed more than that to defeat him and Onix.

BROCK: Onix throw Pinsir high in the air and use Twister.

Then a tornado 🌪️ full of draconic energy enveloped the Pinsir.

SAMURAI: NOOOOO!! Try to counter with Hyper Beam.

Brock smirked and gave his Onix the order for the finishing blow.

BROCK: Onix ROCK TOMB.

Then huge boulders in a circle formation fell on top of Pinsir burying it.

Then the match was set. The challenger failed to earn the Boulder Badge. After the fight was over Gary returned to the lobby where he saw, Brock comforting the Samurai Bug cather. Then after the Samurai left, Brock turned towards Garry.

BROCK: So. Another challenger. Sorry you will have to wait for half an hour for my Pokemon to be healed. The format will be a 3VS3 Double Battle. You can switch Pokemon but i the Gym Leader can't.

GARY: Ok i got it.

Then Gary went to the waiting area preparing for the match.

"Ok that Rhyhorn's Thunder Fang wil be a problem and Onix's Heavy Slam is also very dangerous. hhhhhhmmmmmmmmm. Squirtle is a must, but if i start with him, that Thunder Fang could prove fatal. Spearow is out of the question, as a Flying Type. Ok that leaves Abra pairing with my Nidoran♂ with Squirtle as back up. Then i should take out as fast as possible, that Rhyhorn out . Then Squirtle with Water Spout can easly decimate a big target as Onix.

So as Gary prepared his strategy for the match the time slowly past. Now on a rocky field, on opposite sides, One tall man with nothing covering his abs and a cool brown to orange haired youth were starting eachother. Now the first step for the dream of Garry, is about to be taken. In the stands someone could make the figure of a Samurai looking towards the arena.

BROCK: GO Geodude and Rhyhorn.

GARY: Go Abra and Nidoran♂.

Then all four Pokemon appeared and the battle began.

BROCK: Rhyhorn Horn Attack on Abra. Geodude use Defense Curl.

GRRY: Nidoran♂ Fight back with Double Kick. Abra after Nidoran♂ use Teleport and then Ice Punch

Then Rhyhorn run toward Garry's Abra but Nidoran♂ intercept it forcing it to use the Horn Attack on it. Then a horn and a kick clashed together. Rhyhorn was stronger than Nidoran♂, but before it was blasted back in a boulder, it managed to connect the second Kick. Then Abra appeared right behind the Rhyhorn, hiting it from behind for super effective damage. As for Geodude? It was curled into a ball with a gray luster surrounding it.

BROCK: Rhyhorn use Pursuit on Nidoran♂, Geodude use Rock Polish.

GARY: Abra Teleport then Ice Punch. Nidoran♂ Double Kick on Geodude.

Then as Garry gave his orders to his Pokemon he snapped his finger. Then Abra run towards Rhyhorn and suddenly used the Teleport Move to appear right infront of Rhyhorn's face. This resulted in a sudden stop for Rhyhorn, as it was shocked by the unexpected appearance, of the opposing Abra, right infront of it's face. Then with a flash Abra disappeared again and appeared right behind Brock's Geodude. After that Rhyhorn before managing to react took a direct Double Kick from

Nidoran♂. The first strike was a critical hit ,while with the addition of the Rivalry Ability of Nidoran♂ the damage of Nidoran♂ was 25% bigger for every hit. This resulted in Rhyhorn being knocked back. At the same time Abra hit Geodude from behind while it was glowing all over with a punch covered in ice.

This finger snap, was a premade signal Garry planed while preparing. Abra would Teleport infront of the opposite target Nidoran♂ was ordered to attack and then proceed to Teleport again to strike the Pokemon Nidoran♂ was ordered to attack, while Nidoran♂ would attack on the other opponent and hit him. This resulted in the damaging of the boosted Geodude while dealing a massive strike, on the target of focus, for this match. Which was Rhyhorn.

GARY: Ok Abra finish Rhyhorn with Psywave.

Then Abra hit with a Psychic wave that dealt 97 % it's LV as damage, dealing the finishing blow on Rhyhorn.

BROCK: Good job Rhyhorn you can rest. NOW ONIX SHOW THEM WHY WE ARE CALLED THE ROCK HARD COMBO.

Then Brock screamed, as he released his HUGE Onix, on the left most side of the battle field..

BROCK: Onix Twister.

GARY: Teleport Abra.

Then Abra Teleported on the rightmost side of the arena. As it appeared there, Brock had a smirk on his face. Apparently right then Onix released the Twister Move, on the right side of the arena in the middle of Brocks field, catching the unsuspecting Abra.

BROCK: Finish it with Rock Tomb.

Then like the fight with the Samurai's Pinsir, Onix used the Rock Tomb move to, knock out of this fight, Garry's Abra.

GARY: NOOOO Abra.

The young Samurai was shocked in the stands. The way that challenger, used the Teleport Move to take down this Rhyhorn and the ingenious way that Brock, countered that tactic made him realise that he had to many things to improve upon.

BROCK: Listen well young pup of Pallet Town. In a fight both people can use the positioning game. I expected that if i called my Onix on the left side of the arena, you would use Teleport to the opposite side in order to attack my Onix from a safe distance. So my Twister positioned right there caught your Abra in it. Of course in order to pull of that trick, i missed the chance to hit your Nidoran♂.

GARRY: Nice play. But tactics are nothing infront of absolute power. Squirtle go.

SQUIRTLE: SQUUUUUUUUUURRRTTTLLEEE.

Then Squirtle appeared with a roar.

GARRY: SQUIRTLE WATER SPOUT.

BROCK: BOTH OF YOU DODGE QUICKLY.

Brock was shocked. He had never expected such an ace of a Move. Squirtle faced the sky and realised a huge torrent of water in the sky that came down like an apocalypse on Brock's side of the field. Even the +2 increase in Speed wasn't able to avoid that strike. Both the Onix and the Geodude fell down on the same time resulting in a LV up for both of Garry's Pokemon.

GARRY: Take that. Hahahahahahah.

Garry had a huge grin on his face.

BROCK: Amazing you managed to keep such an Ace hidden till the end. As the Gym Leader of Pewter City, i Award you with 10000 Pokedolars and the Boulder Badge. You can also get the unbrakeable TM for the Rock Tomb Move or 1 Iron Vitamin.

GARRY: Thanks for the awards. As for my choice. I pick the Iron Vitamin.

BROCK: Congratulations on your Victory and good luck on the rest of your journey.

Then Garry left the Gym. As he was passing by a tree, he suddenly punched it with his left hand with a lot of frustration.

"Damnit that was really carless of me. That Onix got me good. Tch. I could have avoided that knock out and Switched my Abra or Nidoran♂ for Squirtle wining with a perfect victory. I have to become better."

Then Garry left for the right side of Pewter City that leads at Route 3 and MT. Moon. As for the Samurai after a day, he returned to the Viridian Forest to continue his training in order to beat Brock. But unbeknownst to him leaving Pewter City at this time would make him to meet the person that will change his destiny for ever.
