Lavender Town (Red)

As we all know, you can never outrun fear. If you try to run away from it, doesn't matter how fast you are, fear will always catch you. That's what happened to me when I was in Lavender Town.

I was waiting for Nurse Joy to return my Pokémons. I overheard a conversation between a couple.

'Yesterday, I went there and I saw a ghost. It was horrible and I ran away from it', said the woman, scared.

'Oh, by the way. I was going to go there today. But I think I should cancel my plans to go to the Pokémon Tower', said the man.

'Um, excuse me. Did you say Pokémon Tower ?', I said.

'Uh, yes. Are you new here ? Haven't seen you before', said the man.

'Yeah', I said, giving a smile.

'The Pokémon Tower is a place where you pray and pay your respects for your past away Pokémon. There are rumours that there are ghost in the Tower', said the woman.

'There are no such things as ghosts', I said.

'Oh, won't you believe that there is a white hand resting on your shoulder', said the woman.

A cold shrill went through my spine and I quickly looked at my shoulders, when I looked back towards them, they disappeared, nobody was there.

'Red, you'll be glad that your Pokémons are back to health. Hope you visit again', said Nurse Joy. 'And are you thinking about going to the Pokémon Tower ? I recommend going to the Pokémon House first'.

'The Pokémon House huh ?', I said.

I took all the Pokeballs and hung them back on my belt. I walked outside.

Lavender Town was pretty small with only five houses, a PokeMart, a PokeCenter and Pokémon Tower as the only buildings there.

I looked at all the houses and finally found one with The Pokémon House written on it.

I quickly walked inside. It was a small house. Four to five people sat on chairs, talking about the ghost in Pokémon Tower.

'Hello, how may I help you ?', asked a girl who looked older than me in age.

'Someone told me to visit this place. What is this place ?', I asked.

'This is a place where you can adopt orphaned Pokémon who were abandoned by their trainers or whose parents died', said the girl.

'Oh, this is really nice that someone has concern for those Pokémons', I said.

'Yeah, Mister Fuji is a very kind man. He cares about everyone in this town, that is why this he is very popular among the people who live here', she said.

'Where is this Mister Fuji ?', I asked.

'He just disappeared days ago, nobody has heard from him, yet', she said.

'Can I see those Pokémons ?', I asked.

'Yeah, sure. Follow me', she said.

She walked towards a door and opened it, there was a small room with at least ten Pokémons. They all roam here and there. The room was completely had no furniture but only had some toys.

There was a Rattata, a Bulbasaur, a Psyduck, a Grimer and some more.

'Wow, this place is great', I said.

'Yeah, I know', she said.

I walked towards a Pokémon to see what it was but it just backed off as if I scared him.

'What's with this one ?', I asked.

'That is a Cubone. Mister Fuji found him in Fuschia City. It was being threatened by Team Rocket. Team Rocket killed it's mother - Marowak', she said.

I pointed the Pokedex towards it.

'Cubone, a Lonely Pokémon. It wears the skull of its dead mother on its head. When it becomes lonesome, it is said to cry loudly', explained the Pokedex.

I got tears in my eyes.

'Team Rocket, how could they do that ?', I said. 'This is so cruel'.

Suddenly, the main door of the Pokémon House opened with a bang. A man came inside and shouted.

'I think I found out where Mister Fuji is', he said. 'Someone saw him going inside the Pokémon Tower'.

'Oh, no', said the girl.

'What is it ?', I asked.

'Days ago, Team Rocket came out of nowhere and stopped people from entering the Pokémon Tower. Maybe, mister Fuji went there to settle the matter', she said.

'That explains why he didn't come back', I said.

'Someone needs to go there and fight Team Rocket', shouted the man.

'But none of us is strong enough to battle them', said a woman.

'I'll go', I said.

Everybody looked at me.

'Kid this is no joke. Stay out of it', said the man.

'I am a Pokémon Trainer', I said, showing my three gym badges.

'Okay, I believe in you. I think you should go', said the man.

I walked outside towards the Pokémon Tower. There was no security outside, I went inside the tower and began climbing the stairs for higher level. I heard strange sounds and I was really scared. It was dark too and plus, there was a ghost in the Tower.

Suddenly, I heard a scream. I thought it was a ghost. My legs froze in fear and Blue came running from the upper level and bumped into me.

'You scared me Blue', I said, my heart sank.

'I saw a ghosts', he said.

'Don't be stupid', I said.

'I was thinking the same thing before seeing it. I thought that Team Rocket made up the story but I saw the ghost', said Blue.

'Okay, let's go together', I said.

'Right', said Blue.

We slowly walked upstairs, Blue was very scared and stayed behind me.

Suddenly, a purple smoky thing came out of nowhere.

It was a ghost. It had red eyes and I could see right through it.

'Get out, leave this place', it said.
