Chapter 5 A clash with Peace

Mario was this close to yelling out to the female fan that acted aggressively towards him but only managed to give her a death stare which of course scared the girl to the bone marrow. Seeing that his mood had changed, the rest of the girls withdrew themselves from touching him. Without saying any further word, he just left the spot that he was and headed straight towards the red carpet. He ended up taking a few pictures, forcing smiles and trying to act all friendly with the cameras and after that, the interviewers had their time with him and his father.

Few hours later the event came to an end and the people began to disperse one after the other, especially the ladies that had high hopes that they would be able to have their moment with Mario -- too bad for them that he almost scared them to death because of the wrist watch incident. But there was one girl that still stayed despite everything. She had been swallowed up by the crowd that she didn't even have the chance to get an autograph but she was desperate to get it. They weren't allowed inside the main hall but she knew that she would definitely meet him on his way out and so she positioned herself outside.

There she stood, under the petrifying cold hands of the weather, rubbing her arms slightly in a bid to wade off the chilling breeze. It was evening already and the clouds were getting darker and darker by the moment. Should she leave or should she stay? That, she asked herself. Normally it would have been better for her to leave but what would she give as a reason to Lily who she had promised to bring back the autograph of Mario Stone? She sighed as she didn't want Lily to be disappointed and so she finally made up her mind to stay.

A few moments later, Mario and his crew made his way out. His father, Sylvester had already gone out with the big men to attend to other private matters and to celebrate his new business launch -- that was none of Mario's business and so he decided that he would leave first; after all he was tired and needed to rest.

On sighting him, the young lady rushed to him. She knew that definitely he wouldn't have enough time to speak to her and so she did a quick introduction of herself and told him exactly what she wanted.

"Hi, Mario. My name is Peace McCall and would like to get your autograph." She said to him with smiles on her face. Unfortunately for her, Mario didn't respond to her the same way -- his face was as still as iron and there wasn't even a smirk to show an atom of friendliness in him. Instead of replying to her, he looked down at his arm and kept his eyes fixed there. Peace, who was still confused at his countenance, followed the direction of his eyes and saw that she was actually holding him. How could she not know that she was holding him? And even though she was holding him, was that supposed to be a problem? Was that why he kept his face like that?

"Get your hands off me." The tone of his voice was rather too harsh or too demeaning but whichever one it was, Peace didn't seem to like the vibe of it. She quickly withdrew her hands from him and then Mario said to her; "You want an autograph right? Where do you want it signed? Be fast because I don't have time for this."

Peace presented the small painting book to him and he did whatever magic he and his frown could do and pushed the book back to her. Now this was too much for her and she just couldn't believe his guts. Just when he was about to head towards his car, she yelled his name from behind.

"Hey!" She called out, her hands folded over her chest and her stance was as one who was ready for battle. Mario turned around to look at her and the next thing he heard from her was: "who the hell do you think you are?" Deep lines had already formed on her forehead and her brows were creased in a frown. "Mario Stone or whatever you call yourself who do you think you are? Is this the way that you people treat your fans? Is it because I touched you? Is that why you are being unnecessarily harsh to me? Is this what you are about?"

Mario stepped forward towards her and stared at her from head to toe - an action that Peace did not find funny at all. She could only scoff and keep wondering what in the name of the heavens was wrong with rich people. Just when he was about to open his mouth and speak, she held out her index finger in a bid to shut him up.

"I haven't asked for your opinion, at least not yet. I know that you are Mario Stone, the son of Sylvester Stone and all that but I need you to understand something. I don't care." Those last three words came out as a whisper but she sure wasn't done with what she wanted to say to him. "I don't care about your identity and I sure don't bother about rich people. You people are always too full of yourselves and it disgusts me." Even his guards that were standing around were perplexed by the girl's boldness and one of them even made an attempt to stop her but Mario gestured for him to keep his cool. She flashed the guard an angry stare before turning back her attention to Mario.

"Mr Mario Stone. I get it that you are a billionaire's son but that doesn't mean that your body is gold and that doesn't give you the right to treat people like trash. You should even be grateful that I touched you. I am not rich, I am just an average girl that assists in looking after an orphanage home. I don't come to gatherings like this, no I don't. I am here because my little friend, Lily, wanted an autograph and she can't come by herself because she is not just little but she is lame. I wonder how she would react if I told her that her favorite person in the World treats people like trash. You are not even that handsome. You look like a hippopotamus." And with that, she walked out on him without looking back.
