Chapter 18 The rules

Chapter 18 (The rules)

"What!!!" Peace realized that her tone might have been a bit high and she toned it down, still repeating her exclamation as she was still yet engulfed with her shock. "What!"

"I assure you that it is not a big deal. All you have to do is serve drinks and run a few errands for the Doms." Regan added while she continued to look around her to see if there was anyone eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Errands... What kind of errands are you referring to? Are they normal errands or...abnormal errands?" Peace wanted to be sure of what she was getting into as she wasn't ready to be taken by surprise. At least she still had the option of backing out and seeking another job if everything goes awry at the Santana club.

Regan gave out a little laugh at her question. She already knew that Peace was thinking about the sexual aspect so she clarified her, "you don't have to worry about anyone molesting you or asking you to please them sexually. It is solely based on your choice and no one will sanction you for any decision you make. As for me, I run a whole. Variety. Of. Errands." With the way Regan divided her words, Peace was certain that she was running the other type of errands. The type that her mind refused to reason at all.

Peace cleared her throat and then continued. "What type of errands do you run?"

"Umm... You know there are different types of errands. You can be sent by a Dom or submissive to get more wine..." Peace saw that she was trying to deviate from answering the main question and so she cut in.

"Regan, that isn't what I asked you. What kinda errands have you attended to? I need nothing but a straight answer." Even though she was trying to get a truthful reply from Regan, Peace thought she was actually conversing with her as though they have known each other for a very long time. Who would believe that they just met that night?

Regan sighed in exhaustion as she knew that there was just no way that she was going to escape Peace and her questions. She just had to tell her the truth - it wasn't like it was a big deal for her anyways, after all a girl gotta do what she gotta do.

"Okay. Here goes... Look, I admit that I must have sucked a couple cocks but it is all for the extra cash. I have duties, you know. I have to hustle in order to pay the tuition fees of my sister who is already in college. My step brother too has to..." Peace couldn't wait for her to  finish and she immediately cut in.

"You don't have to explain yourself to me. It isn't so much of a big deal. But anyways is that all? I mean, you don't let them do all those things I see in movies right? The flogging, the tying of hands and the blindfolding. All those mumbo jumbo things they do."

"No! That is ridiculous. I will never! Anyways it's not like I am condemning those that are partaking in it but there are some things that I just can't do. What if I die?!"

Peace couldn't contain her laughter as she said that. Of course she wouldn't die but then again there was a possibility of that happening. "You are so funny. Who told you that you might die? Anyways, Red told me something about rules. Can you please tell me what the rules are?"

"Oh yes! I nearly forgot about that. Now listen... There are some rules that you must adhere to as an exclusive worker and bartender. Number one, you are not to say a word to the VIPs unless you are asked a question. Not even a greeting. Number two, you are not allowed to see their faces unless they want to be seen."

"Wow!" Peace exclaimed. "Is that really a thing here? Does it mean that the almighty VIPs usually wear masks?"

"Yes. Though it's a matter of choice. Just like Miss Red, it's a choice. Didn't you read about that in your smut novels and movies?"

"Well it's not like this. Yeah I heard that some of them wear masks but I didn't know that it exists in reality." She replied.

"Well, welcome to planet Earth where everything is possible."

"I know right? Anyways, please continue, or is that all?" Peace inquired.

Then Regan continued, "of course not. Now for rule number three, if you offend a VIP or a VIP gets offended by you, you are to apologize immediately and if he or she offends you, you are not to vent out your anger or correct them for their mistakes but instead you are to say thank you."

"Excuse me!" Peace could not believe her ears, especially at the last words that were spoken by Regan. Did she just say that if a VIP offends her she wasn't supposed to complain or correct him or her but instead she was to thank them? That was inadvertently stupid and ridiculous! We're they kidding her right now?

"Look, I know that it sounds stupid but I can assure you that you are going to get used to it. I can remember when I heard of this rule for the very first time. I nearly lost it. I also reacted the same way you did and to be honest I didn't think I was going to blend with that but here am i still working. It's so funny how I was able to blend with the rules and clock 2 years with them." She gave out a light laugh but the look on Peace's face wasn't giving off a good vibe. At that point, she was sure that Peace was seeing her as someone that was overly insane.

"This shit is crazy. You are crazy." Peace remarked in a quiet but disappointing tone.

"I know but you see... It ain't easy anywhere. This is the world we live in. Sometimes you just have to act like a fool in order to get what you want. If you continue to prove yourself with your self pride and anger, you may end up losing everything and not even achieving your goals."

Inasmuch as she hated to admit it, Regan was right. She was here because she wanted to hustle out her father's bill. Getting herself into trouble in this place wasn't going to help matters and she might even end up losing both the job, the orphanage and her father.

"So listen..." Regan continued, "you just have to blend with it for the meantime until you boss up and do your own money thing. Okay?"

"Okay." Her response was more relaxed and Regan was convinced that she had calmed down.

"As for the remaining rules, you don't have to worry about them. Common sense will tell you about them when necessary. It is then that you will understand what it means when they say that the VIPs are sensitive."

What do you guys think about the rules? Do you think that Peace was going to blend with it?
