Awakening

If the word depression had a perfect visual description, then it was this moment that Alex was living through. Holding a birthday party for oneself was more depressing than it actually appeared.

"If there actually is someone listening out there who can hear my wish but has been toying with me for all this time just for fun then 'f*ck you' for that. However, if that isn't your intention then I wish you would help me change my life for the better so I would not have to live in distress and despair. I just want to live a normal life. Is that too much to ask? Is it so difficult to grant such a wish for me when there are several billion people who are living like that in this world? I am not asking for something excessive. As soon as he opened his eyes after conveying his wish to whoever might have been listening to him at that time, a screen appeared in front of him with a flash. As if in complete synchronization with the screen, a voice sounded in his ears that took him by surprise.

The reason for his surprise was that this place was his room where no one other than him had ever deemed to enter. Hearing someone in this place was a huge surprise to him.

He looked around in surprise and nervousness wondering who might have seen his pitiful birthday party. If this became known at school, Catherine would definitely have another field day humiliating him in front of the entire school.

Looking around his cubicle shaped room, he made sure that there really wasn't anyone else.

The voice in his ears however didn't stop to listen to his contemplation or his ideas and continued to say its piece.

As soon as he muttered the name, his eyes lost their focus and a terrible and piercing pain shot through the back of his head. Alex clutched his head with both hands and tried to squeeze his head with all his force to keep himself from suffering from the terrible pain that seemed to be clogging up his head as if intending to burst it from the inside out.

He rolled around the ground in pain trying to grit his teeth through it all but was unable to shake it off despite his years of experience.

The pain blurred his senses and his mind drifted off into oblivion. It was then that the flood of memories waiting for him rushed into his tiny brain bringing with it a stinging pain that he could not ignore as it singed every fiber of his being.

The torment was intense as if the memories were being branded into his brain with a searing flame that scorched him from the inside out.

The sheer number of memories was enough to snuff out his mortal existence but the awakening of pleasure system seemed to be protecting him. After all, he had been an immortal existence before his reincarnation. There was no way his mortal brain could have handled the entirety of his memories from when he was an immortal god.

The splitting headache lasted for a good while as he remained in a fetal position on the ground while clutching his head.

Recalling his earlier life and those who had been associated with him through these memories made him feel guilt and remorse that weighed down his very existence. He had forgotten those he should have remembered even in death.

He recollected the reason that had resulted in his reincarnation; the divine and statuesque beauty that had been as beautiful and untouched as pure nature itself. The longing and the sweet pain that lingered after their parting was still encased in his very being. He felt as if he had retrieved the missing portion of his soul that had kept him from being whole all this time. He even felt that the missing memories had been the reason for all his suffering in his mortal life.

"I promise we will see each other again soon."

He remembered the promise he had made to his loved ones at the time of their parting. The god of sex of the divine world had finally awakened in the mortal world. The weight of the promise weighed down his shoulders as it crushed him underneath it.

When Alex opened his eyes after the pain died down, he was no longer just Alex. The god of sex had also opened his eyes with him. But strangely, Alex didn't feel odd at all. He had always felt that something had been missing from him and he finally felt that the missing piece of the puzzle had returned and he had become whole again.

A strange and mysterious smile appeared on his face. It was the card that the god of sex had hidden before his reincarnation. This had also been the reason that he had been so confident on his final walk to the reincarnation tunnel in the kingdom of gods.

Before the emperor of the universe had given his final verdict regarding his punishment for sullying the cosmic queen, the god of sex had developed a system for his eventual comeback. He had named it the Pleasure system and had kept it as his hidden card for when he needed to return to power after the fall.

The mortal body was unable to contain the entirety of his divine might so the god of sex had established the system that would allow him to recover his prowess slowly over the period of time. The weak human physique had imposed quite a few limitations on the speed of his recovery. As it happened, it had been impossible to even begin the process before his physical body had aged till 18 years of age.

Alex had waded through a sea of sufferings till he had finally awakened the Pleasure system. The age limit had suppressed the awakening of the Pleasure system so as to not cause the destruction of Alex's body.

Another condition for the awakening of the Pleasure system included having strong sexuality since Alex was the reincarnation of god of sex. The recovery to his powers needed the support of his strong sexuality to rise in status. And for that the age of 18 was the perfect fit.

The conditions of life arranged for the god of sex after his reincarnation as a mortal were the worst possible combination for any mortal. He was an orphan with no knowledge about his birth. Therefore, he had nothing to his name and had no one after his parents to look after him.
