Chapter 3: Lu Xiusi Accepts Even a Broken Shoe

Lu Xiusi completely ignored the ringing of his phone. He and Shen Nuo were in the middle of something that couldn't be interrupted.

Shen Nuo struggled uneasily, gripping Lu Xiusi's arm tightly to prevent him from moving recklessly. She had impulsively agreed to marry, but she hadn't expected to encounter a beast like Lu Xiusi.

The phone rang repeatedly, and Lu Xiusi frowned. Finally, he stopped and got up.

He answered the call, and Shen Nuo breathed a sigh of relief. She hastily grabbed the blanket to cover herself, her eyes filled with caution.

On the other end of the line, Mr. Lu's displeased voice came through, "Lu Xiusi, come back to the old house immediately."

Mr. Lu's voice was low but carried a suppressed authority. Lu Qingzhou's marriage to Shen Qing on the wedding day had already disgraced the Lu family's reputation, and Lu Xiusi's antics only added to it.

"I will handle my affairs," Lu Xiusi said coldly, seeming reluctant to return. Being interrupted like this only added to his annoyance.

"You must come back. I'll give you half an hour," Mr. Lu said before hanging up.

Lu Xiusi's expression darkened, and he glanced disdainfully at Shen Nuo. "Stay in the villa. I'll deal with you when I return."

With that, Lu Xiusi straightened his clothes and hurriedly left.

Watching the door close, Shen Nuo finally breathed a sigh of relief, feeling like she had narrowly escaped a disaster.
