From our earliest days, we have revered the heroes, admiring their virtuous deeds and unwavering moral compass, embracing the light they embody. Yet, as we journey through the labyrinth of adulthood, we come to understand the villains, their motivations, and the profound truth that heroes and villains are two facets of the same intricate coin. Each is bound by their own set of morals, forged by the crucible of their experiences and beliefs. In this interplay of light and shadow, our collective morality, once seen as an immutable beacon, reveals its fragile nature. It exposes the latent capacity for darkness that lurks within us all, a reminder of the depths to which humanity can descend. Within the realm of Eternum, a world steeped in magic and technology, the disparate races converge, united by a common adversary—the enigmatic force known as "The -----------------." The Unfamiliar world [1]

Opening my eyes I saw an unfamiliar ceiling, my mind went blank, my eyes were blurry.

I tried to move but my body refused to move, more like I couldn't even feel my body.

"What's going on?", I frowned inwardly, disgruntled. I tried my best to move my muscles but there was no response from my body whatsoever.

Sigh

Giving up I sighed inwardly, suddenly a throbbing pain assaulted my whole body, my head felt like it was going to burst, my chest felt extremely heavy, my arms and legs felt like they were torn apart.

Grrr

I groaned in discomfort.

Finally after a while the pain subsided, although not fully gone, it became bearable.

Ha…ha…ha..

Panting heavily I tried to catch my breath, that was when I noticed.

"I can move, finally"

Grrr

Argh

Groaning in pain I lifted up my head just barely, my eyes were still blurry but I was somewhat able to see.

And what I saw shocked me.

"W-What, what happened", i was, from head to toe covered in bandages, that was when the second wave of pain hit me, but this time the pain was a lot more sharper.

"Fuck, it's true, the more you look at your injuries the more it will hurt", reminding myself outloud, I dropped my head back down.

Plop

My head fell on something soft, it felt like someone was hugging me.

Grrr

Holding back the pain I moved my head to the side, my eyes which were previously blurry suddenly got back their clearity.

Gasp

What i saw could only be described as, MESMERISING, from a large window which seemed to lead to a balcony I could see mountains in a place far away, they were covered in snow from the half-way up, the rest was covered by greenery, the horizon spread across, as long as one can see there were plain fields of land covered in lush greenery.

The sky was coloured in an azure blue colour and white clouds occasionally obstructed the sunlight.

Suddenly a thought crossed my mind.

"Where am i—", no that was not right, "How did I get her—-", no, no, "Where was i before—-".

"Huh~"

That was when a sudden realisation dawned on me.

"Wait b—"

Click

Swoosh

With a clicking sound a sudden gush of cold air rushed into the room I was in, still lost in my thoughts I blankly stared at the window, paying no attention to the person who entered the room.

"Oh, what's this, you are finally awake"

A husky yet sweet voice entered my ear, snapping me out of my thoughts, the voice had a strange sense of calmness and comfort in it.

Slowly turning my head i saw a fairly old man with white hair accompanied with a short white beard, he had a pair of emerald green eyes and he looked to be in his late 50's, he was fairly tall, and he wore a loose overcoat which left his bare chest exposed which was riddled with scars which he seemed to have received in many battles.

As soon as our eyes met, an amicable smile appeared on his face as he spoke.

"Nice to meet you, i am 'Cyrus Fitzgerald', and I am the Head of this Town"

"Ah-ahh, ye..yes nice to meet you", i spoke while stuttering, I still had trouble speaking.

The man named Cyrus rubbed his chin as he spoke in a curious tone, "So, kiddo, how did you end up in that state".

Looking down at me he scrutinised my body.

Looking at him I spoke in a soft tone, "I don't know, actually I was planning to ask you about my condition".

The man gave me a look which seemed to say, 'poor soul'.

Looking at him I somehow felt warm.

"Thee broken ribs, a punctured lung, five broken fingers, four fractures, a concussion, and bruises all over your body", the man spoke in a worried tone, "and it seems like your memories are also foggy, that's the extent of your injuries".

Listening to him my eyes widened in shock, "How?".

The man shook his head, "as I said I don't know".

"My disciple found you at the bank of a river, at the brink of death, so he brought you back here"

Listening to him I nodded my head in understanding, now that I looked closely at the room, it looked like a bedroom.

I am currently laying on a huge white bed, other than the bed, the room had two bedside tables, a couch and some sort of a screen hanging on the wall in front of the bed, also there was a table with a weird glass top, also the room was brightly lit, and it was not because of the natural light coming from the glass window but rather the walls and the ceiling were themselves giving off light.

Looking at me looking around the room the man asked, "So, what's your name?".

I looked at him, still laying down, I closed my eyes and my temples creased as I tried to strain my mind, this is what was bothering me previously, "I don't remember who i am".

The man raised his eyebrows, "hmm, i see".

"…"

An awkward silence followed.

Black lines appeared on the man's face, as he was about to open his mouth to speak something.

Tring-

Tring-

Eek~

A strange ringing noise suddenly came out of nowhere startling me.

"Haha, calm down", the man chuckled and waved his hand.

Looking at his wrist, "a watch?", Yep he was wearing a watch, and the ringing sound was coming from nowhere but the watch.

"Oh! This" , pointing at his wrist he spoke, "This is a smart watch".

A smart what?

Then shaking his head he clicked on the small screen on his watch, suddenly a holographic screen appeared above the watch.

"Huh~", with a puzzled look I looked towards the old man.

Fufu

He chuckled as he showed me the screen, on which a face of a man with blonde hair and yellow eyes was shown, he had smooth white skin and a handsome face, he looked to be in mid 20's.

With an amused look on his face the man in the hologram spoke, "Oh! So he's awake".

"Indeed, although he doesn't seem to be in the best of conditions, but he's a lot better than he previously was"

"I can see that, well so did you find something out"

"No, i couldn't, it seems like he has sustained some kind of brain injury making him unable to remember what happened, and if that was not enough he cannot even remember his name"

"Really, now that's surprising, wait! Did you say brain injury"

"Yes"

"So can he circulate his magic energy"

Suddenly the expression on the man's face darkened as he answered in a grave tone.

"I-I"

Looking at his expression and behaviour both me and the young man looked at him with serious faces.

"I totally forgot about that"

Thump

Suddenly the sound of something heavy falling came from the hologram and the man disappeared, but a second later a hand appeared and using that hand to support himself the young man got up from the floor.

He looked furious, veins were popping on his forehead.

"Why you, sen–", cutting him off, the old man closed the hologram and coughed dryly.

Black lines appeared on my face.

Scratching his neck the man asked, "so, can you circulate your magic energy?".

Looking intently in his eyes I asked.

"What's magic energy?"

"Huh-"
