"TAKE OFF HER CLOTHES."
Those were the first words Rhysand said when a girl entered his room.
On a bright sunny day, Rhysand Grissham held a maid election for who knows how many times this year.
Rhysand Grissham is a prince of the Atalaric Kingdom. Despite his position as a prince, he already had a towering palace with a majority population of commoners.
Mademoiselle Edeva, one of the butlers, nodded to a girl standing before Rhysand.
"Prince Rhysand asked you to undress your clothes,"
The girl lowered her head slightly. He swallowed his saliva. Obviously, she was awkward.
Rhys, as the prince called, smiled viciously. He liked to enjoy the sight of a girl who was still pure and scared like that.
"Just open it. I've never been interested in you anyway. I just wanted to examine your whole body."
The woman unbuttoned her clothes one by one. His body shook like a cold dog.
Plashes.
All of his clothes were removed, leaving only his underwear stuck to his body.
Rhys smirked. "Tch. What did I say, Edeva. I asked for her body without any blemishes or scratches. How come you brought a girl into my room who was already injured?"
Mademoiselle Edeva frowned. He had not found a single inch of scar on the girl. "My wound?"
"Turn around your body, now!" Rhysand ordered exasperatedly.
The girl complied. She turned around.
On the back of her thigh, visible incision scars there. "What's that scar?" Rhys asked her.
"I... this... I accidentally fell off a horse as a child," the girl answered her question with her back to Rhys. She put her hands together in front of his stomach.
Rhys pursed his lips. "Ignorant girl."
The girl just turned around. The prince looked at her who was angry with her. The girl shrank. She was terrified.
Rhysand stand up from his seat. "Who said you can answer my questions with your back to my face?!!!"
Mademoiselle Edeva narrowed her eyes. Rhys' booming voice boomed through the palace.
"Scram you, bitch."
The girl glazed over. She swept her hand across the floor, where her clothes had fallen. At that time, he immediately sped away from Prince Rhysand's room with a body almost naked.
Prince Rhysand sat back down. Anger rules his heart and mind.
"Edeva, I'm so disappointed in you."
"Prince, you understand how difficult it is to find the right maid for you. Princes have unique tastes and standards. And those who match the Prince's tastes, do not like to stay longer in the palace."
Prince Rhysand growled. "Thus, I obviously stepped in to sort out and choose my personal maid."
"I appreciate the struggle of the prince who participated in choosing them... but..."
"Shut up! Get the hell out of here. Dismiss today's maid election. Just call Hugo for me!"
Mademoiselle Edeva closed her mouth suddenly. She no longer dared to deny the words of the prince of his country. Bowing obediently, then retreated from Rhysand's presence.
The next moment, Hugo, his trusted right-hand man, opened the door. With his thick mustache, he asked without even looking at Rhysand's face.
"Was today's maid selection, my lord the prince? That was very fun, right?"
"Do you think that was fun?!!! How can Edeva bring a woman who has been injured before. I clearly gave the rule, women with scars cannot register as maids. How dare she enter the palace and show me her scars. Disgusting."
Hugo just looked down deeply. He did not dare to answer Prince Rhysand's words, because, once he answered, Prince Rhysand would immediately fire him.
It's been five years now, Rhysand has personally held maid selections. It provides a variety of criteria that do not make sense.
Starting from a high standard of beauty, has clean white skin, height 165 cm, weight 50 kilograms, straight brown hair, blue eyes, and a medium chest size. No less and no more.
Not enough with that, he also pegged their innate skills. The three main skill pillars; cooking, sewing, and room cleaning skills.
He should also be honest, friendly, and a little shy.
From that, Hugo was sure, there was no woman in this world by those criteria. He's too picky. To the extent that only Hugo and Mademoiselle Edeva remained.
"I hate it when they're not perfect. I hate to see their imperfections exposed to my guests from across the country. That's obviously so embarrassing."
"Of course, My Prince."
"But, why, no one like that??"
He should also be honest, friendly, and a little shy.
Of course, that person is only in your dreams and wishes, damn it. Hugo answered him inwardly. Instead, he smiled sweetly at Rhysand.
Hugo bowed his body, "Prince, are you feeling tired today?"
"Of course, are you crazy to ask me that?"
"Prince of my country, may I give you a suggestion?"
"A suggestion? What's a suggestion?"
"Prince, I don't want to see princes mess around with maid selection which is actually trivial. There are so many problems in the Kingdom. It doesn't feel good if this maid selection slows down the kingdom's performance. So... let me give you some advice,"
"What is that?! Say it quickly."
Hugo exhaled his breath. He was afraid that when a brilliant idea landed in his brain, he could end up in prison... or worse, beheaded the kingdom.
Hugo reassured himself again. With his loyalty from a young age, Rhysand would definitely not punish him.
He spoke these words very carefully. "So, I asked the Prince to carry out the blind selection of maids."
"WHAT?!!!!!"
Rhysand jumped because he is very shock. His hands clenched then. His eyes stared intently at the person he trusted the most.
How could, his confidant, suggest such a ridiculous idea?
"My lord Prince, just a moment." Hugo flinched suddenly. He looked straight at him trying to explain.
"During these five years, the Prince has always been in trouble because of maids that don't suit your want, Prince. Wouldn't it be better, the Prince not to know anything about him, than to be troubled by the same thing?"
"Are you kidding??! What if my guest from across the street saw the maids in my dirty and disgusting palace?! Maids are maids! They are the ones who deliver food and drinks to my guests!!! You don't understand that?"
Hugo interrupted quickly, "My lord the Prince, don't misunderstanding, please. We always give the best candidate to the Prince. However, you are always concerned about physical things. Isn't the most beautiful thing is one's heart?"
"Shut up, Hugo. You don't understand."
"My lord Prince, over the years, I am the one who understands the Prince's condition and circumstances the most. I suggest this because the king election is so close. Does the Prince want to prolong the maid selection affair and waste more time?"
"Trust me, Prince. The human heart is more beautiful than pearls. More beautiful than mere physical beauty."
Prince Rhysand just looked at Hugo full of anger. However, his lips slowly spoke. "Hurry up with that blind election. I'll give it a try."
