Elsewhere.
An Ziqi was lying in bed, hugging Xiao Yining. She hadn't slept all night.
The little one was just too young. At first, she insisted on watching him until he fell asleep. Eventually succumbing to fatigue, his small head slowly dropped, and he fell asleep.
Perhaps to comfort her, Xiao Yining's tiny body was pressed against her as he slept. Even in his dreams, he clung tightly to the corner of her clothes.
When she heard Xiao Moli enter the room, An Ziqi instantly looked at him.
Xiao Moli came to the bedside, gently touching the faint bruise under her eyes. "Why didn't you listen to me?" he asked.
Upon seeing the swelling on the back of his hand, An Ziqi promptly inquired anxiously, "How did you hurt your hand?"
"It's nothing. I accidentally bumped into something," said Xiao Moli, before softly kissing her on the eye.
"I'm going to take a shower. You should get some sleep."
