The soft light of dawn, rosy and gentle, spilled across the elegant bedroom. Seongho, still nestled in the plush sheets, stirred. As he reached out, a sleepy little sigh escaped his lips when his fingers brushed against the cool, empty space beside him. His bottom lip trembled slightly, forming an adorable pout.
He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes with a tiny fist, his fluffy pajamas swallowing his small frame. Peeking at Junseong, who was already dressed in his impeccably tailored suit and adjusting his watch by the window, Seongho felt his pout deepen. Junseong looked so serious, so grown-up, and it made Seongho feel a mix of worry, pride and affection.
With a determined little hop, he scrambled out of bed, his bare feet padding softly against the carpet. He shuffled towards Junseong, eyes wide and a little teary. "Don't go…" he mumbled, his voice a soft, breathy whisper that tugged at Junseong's heart.
Junseong turned, his expression instantly softening at the sight of Seongho's adorable distress. He knelt down to Seongho's level, cupping his face in his hands. "I really have to, little one," he said gently. "The company needs me not only one but three companies. I can't let my team down."
Seongho's lower lip quivered at those words, and he looked up at Junseong with big, pleading eyes. "But... you were taking care of me so well," he protested, his voice a tiny squeak that made Junseong's heart melt even more. "You shouldn't have to rush back so soon!"
Chuckling softly, Junseong felt the corners of his mouth brighten. "I know, little one," he said, pulling Seongho into a warm hug. "But I can't leave everything to others. They depend on me."
Seongho snuggled deeper into Junseong's embrace, his tiny body trembling slightly. "Just promise me that tonight ,you'll be back before I sleep," he whispered, looking up with big, sparkling eyes.
"Promise," Junseong replied, his voice a soothing balm. Seongho kissed the top of his forehead, his heart overflowing with afmiray. "And I'll bring you something nice, okay?"
As Junseong gathered his belongings, Seongho trailed behind him, his tiny feet padding softly on the floor. In the living room, the aroma of breakfast filled the air. "You really should eat something before you go!" Seongho insisted, puffing out his cheeks slightly, his pout returning.
"I can't! I'm already late." Junseong glanced at his watch, but all he could see was Seongho's adorably serious expression.
"Then let me help you!" Seongho declared, eyes sparkling with determination. He called for a maid with a surprisingly commanding tone for someone so small. "Can you pack up breakfast in a lunch box for my husband, please?"
Junseong watched the scene unfold, utterly charmed by Seongho's fierce cuteness. The way he puffed out his cheeks and frowned so earnestly was too adorable to resist. "Really, you're way too cute for your own good," he thought chuckling and shaked his head.
Once breakfast was packed, they made their way outside. The morning sun cast a warm glow on Seongho's fluffy pajamas as he clung to Junseong, giving him a big, squishy hug. "Be careful," he whispered, his voice muffled against Junseong's chest.
Junseong returned the hug, letting the moment linger. "I will," he murmured, a tender smile on his face. "And remember, your sister will be here with you. You won't be alone. You two can have a little shopping spree!"
Seongho's eyes lit up at the mention of shopping, his earlier sadness momentarily forgotten. "Really? We can go get ice cream too?" he asked, a playful spark igniting in his gaze.
"Absolutely! You can pick out whatever you want," Junseong promised, adjusting the way he held Seongho for one last squeeze.
Seongho nodded, a tiny smile breaking through his earlier pout. "Yay! That sounds awesome!" he replied, his voice now bubbling with excitement. He released Junseong from the hug and Junseong entered the car black sleek car that awaited him . Seongho waved goodbye as the car pulled away from the mansion until it was out of sight.
As he turned to head back inside, the sunlight caught the edges of his fluffy pajama top, making him look even more precious and small. Junseong glanced back one last time, his heart swelling for the cute bundle he left behind, already looking forward to returning to him.
Seongho returned to the bedroom, the lingering scent of Junseong's cologne still faintly clinging to the air. He showered, the warm water soothing him and washing away both the lingering sleepiness and the melancholy of Junseong's departure. He hummed a little tune as he towelled his hair, a cheerful counterpoint to the quiet emptiness of the house.
When he came downstairs, the dining room was bathed in soft morning light, illuminating the elegant decor. His Noona, Hyeri, already finished with her breakfast, was engrossed in her phone, her brow furrowed in concentration as she scrolled through something on the screen. She looked up as he entered, a small smile gracing her lips, instantly lightening the mood.
"Morning, sleepyhead!" she teased playfully, her voice warm like the sunlight streaming in through the windows. "Did Mr. Lee already leave?"
Seongho nodded, a small sigh escaping him. "Yeah, hubby was in a rush," he said, his voice a little wistful as he went to the table, pouring himself a cup of juice.
Hyeri watched him, a knowing look sparkling in her eyes. "Don't worry," she said softly, sensing the weight of his mood. "He'll be back before you know it. And besides," she added with a playful smirk, "we have a whole day of fun ahead of us! Remember that shopping spree?"
Seongho's face lit up, his earlier sadness evaporating like morning mist. "Oh, right!" he exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "But how did you know we were going shopping?"
Hyeri chuckled, setting her phone aside, leaning back in her chair with a twinkle in her eye. "Well, I may have eavesdropped a little when you were saying goodbye at the parking lot."
Seongho's eyes widened in surprise, a look of mock indignation crossing his face. "You were eavesdropping?" he asked, trying to sound serious but failing miserably. The corners of his mouth twitched up into a grin.
"Just a tiny bit!" she admitted, unable to contain her laughter. "You were being so cute! I couldn't help but listen."
Seongho puffed out his cheeks, pretending to be annoyed. "I'm not cute! I'm—" he paused, realizing it was useless to deny it. A giggle escaped him instead. "Okay, maybe I'm a little cute. But you shouldn't listen in on my conversations!"
"I know, I know," she said, waving her hand dismissively while still chuckling. "But honestly, hearing you two talk was adorable."
After a moment of shared laughter, she gestured towards the untouched breakfast spread across the table. "But first," she added, her tone turning mock serious as she pointed a finger at him, "you need to eat something. You were practically inhaling that juice."
Seongho laughed, his mood completely transformed. The emptiness left by Junseong's departure was quickly fading, replaced by the bubbling excitement of a fun-filled day with his Noona. He sat down, relishing the delicious breakfast, and already the thought of their shopping spree was making him giddy.
"What do you want to get?" she asked, her eyes bright with anticipation.
He counted on his fingers, enthusiasm radiating from him. "Maybe toys for Mangchi? Or some cool clothes? Ooh, and hubby had finally approved so I definitely want an ice cream sundae!"
Hyeri smiled at his infectious excitement, and together they plotted their day, the laughter and warmth filling the spaces that Junseong's absence had briefly left behind.

Junseong stepped out of his sleek black car, the sun glinting off its polished surface. As he adjusted his cufflinks, his expression remained a mask of cool composure. The lively energy of the bustling office building was palpable, yet he felt a sense of detachment, as if he were a spectator rather than a participant in the life below.
Entering the lobby, he noticed the employees falling silent, their conversations dwindling as they turned to watch him. Eyes shifted nervously, excitement mixed with apprehension in their expressions. Junseong could feel the weight of their unspoken thoughts, but he didn't engage—his focus remained unyielding.
"Welcome back, Mr. Lee," all the employees greeted, bowing slightly.
"Good to see you, sir," another added, their voice barely above a whisper.
Junseong acknowledged their greetings with a curt nod, his expression unchanging.
One brave employee ventured, "We're all glad you're back. Is your husband, Seongho, doing well after the ordeals?" The question hung in the air, and for just a moment, curiosity flickered in their eyes.
At the mention of Seongho, Junseong's gaze hardened, an icy stare sweeping across the room. The atmosphere shifted, silencing the light chatter and drawing every eye to him, sensing the change in his demeanor. The warmth of the lobby seemed to drop a few degrees as the employees held their breath, feeling the weight of his piercing gaze.
"Don't let this repeat itself again, let's just focus on work or else. . . ," he replied, his voice steady but layered with an unmistakable chill.
With that, he turned sharply toward the elevator, moving with purpose. Min-ki, hastily followed, eager to keep pace while sensing the underlying tension. As they ascended to the top floor, the elevator glided smoothly upward, carrying them above the bustling activity of the lower floors where the majority of employees toiled away.
Upon reaching the last floor, the doors slid open to reveal Junseong's expansive office, a sanctuary of modern elegance that showcased a breathtaking view of the city skyline. The high-rise life felt isolating yet empowering; he was above it all, both literally and figuratively.
Once inside, Junseong closed the door with a decisive click, the sound echoing in the silence that enveloped them.
"What's on the agenda?" he inquired, his tone crisp as he settled into his chair, fingers steepled in front of him.
Min-ki quickly retrieved his notes. "We have several key meetings lined up, Mr. Lee. The project proposal needs your review, and the marketing team is awaiting your input on their current strategies."
"Good. Ensure they come prepared. I expect nothing less than excellence," Junseong commanded, his demeanor unwavering, even as the tension in the room seemed to linger.
Min-ki nodded, scribbling down instructions. He hesitated for a moment, then ventured, "You know, it's normal to feel a bit... unsettled after a break. If you need a moment—"
"Shh !, let's just get to work, Min-ki," Junseong interrupted, his voice cool. He appreciated the concern, but vulnerability was not an option today.
As they delved into the agenda, a sense of renewed focus enveloped the room. Junseong steeled himself for the challenges that lay ahead. Determination replaced any lingering doubts—he was back at the pinnacle of his career, and he would not be easily swayed.
Three hours later,The boardroom was filled with a tense energy, the polished oak table surrounded by the stern faces of the board of directors and Junseong's business partners. Sunlight streamed through the large windows, casting a golden hue over their serious discussions. After two hours of intensive debate, the atmosphere shifted as the chairperson stood to address Junseong.
"Mr Lee, we must commend you on your outstanding work in uncovering the evidence against Jaehyun and Jiwoon. Your diligence has not only safeguarded our interests but has also positioned us strongly in the market," the chairperson said, her voice buoyed with approval.
A round of polite applause followed, and for a brief moment, a flicker of a smile broke through Junseong's otherwise stoic demeanor. His lips curled slightly as he nodded in acknowledgment. "Thank you. It was essential to bring their actions to light. We must remain vigilant in protecting our company's reputation."
As the meeting continued, Junseong felt his phone vibrate on the table, cutting through the formality of the proceedings. He glanced at the screen—a video call from Seongho. For a split second, he hesitated, a flicker of warmth crossing his usually composed expression.
"Excuse me for a moment," he said, a hint of softness creeping into his voice as he accepted the call. As his husband's face appeared, the tension in the room shifted, and all eyes widened in astonishment.
"Hubby!" Seongho squealed, his voice bright and cheerful. His signature endearing smile illuminated the screen. In his arms was Mangchi, who peeked curiously into the camera, his emerald eyes adorable and captivating.
"Hey," Junseong said, his tone lighter but still restrained, a stark contrast to the formality of the boardroom. "Do you miss me already?," he asked, the warmth in his voice evident as he gazed at Seongho.
"Yes I've missed you a lot!" Seongho replied cheerfully. "Noona and I are just about to head out for shopping, but I wanted to call and see how you were doing." He adjusted the camera angle to show Mangchi more clearly, the cat playfully pawing at the screen.
"Look, it's Mangchi!" Seongho exclaimed, bouncing the cat slightly in his arms to draw Junseong's attention. "He's been a little troublemaker today."
The directors watched in disbelief as the usually stoic CEO transformed before their eyes, his expression softening into a rare smile while he looked at the screen. Min-ki couldn't help but gasp quietly, his eyes wide in astonishment. It was a stark contrast to the cold, commanding figure they knew in the business world.
"Looks like he's causing mischief, as usual," Junseong replied, his voice low but laced with fondness as he leaned closer to the screen. "Make sure he doesn't get into anything he shouldn't."
Seongho giggled, the sound light and infectious. "I'll keep a close eye on him. I was thinking of buying him a new toy while we're out. What do you think?"
"Make sure it's something he can't destroy in the first hour," Junseong said, an eyebrow raised, though a small grin betrayed his amusement.
The board members exchanged nervous glances, witnessing this unexpected side of their CEO—a level of warmth and tenderness that contrasted sharply with his usual demeanor. Junseong's focus, usually razor-sharp and demanding, shifted entirely as he spoke to his husband.
"Come back soon," Seongho beamed, glancing at Mangchi before looking back at Junseong. "Take care of yourself hubby, okay?"
"I will," Junseong assured him, his expression softening even more. "Enjoy your day with Hyeri. And keep Mangchi out of trouble."
With one last playful wave from Mangchi, the call ended, and Junseong turned to the board, a hint of his usual icy reserve returning, yet the warmth remained in his eyes.
"Did we just witness a different side of the Chairman ?"one board member whispered to another , incredulous.
"Who knew he could have a soft spot and be so. . . . gentle ?"another one murmured unable to contain a smile.
"Shall we continue?" he said, a touch of coolness creeping back into his voice, his mood had undeniably shifted, leaving the board members in a state of puzzled admiration as they resumed their meeting.
Seongho's perspective
After hanging up the call with hubby, I felt a warm glow in my chest that lingered even as I moved to get ready. I quickly changed into a comfortable outfit, opting for a cozy sweater and some stylish jeans. A little makeup wouldn't hurt either; I applied just enough to enhance my features without feeling overdone. I wanted to look good, but I also wanted to keep things low-key for our outing.
"Ready to go?" Noona called from the living room, her voice bright and cheerful. She was always the life of the party, and I loved that about her. With a final glance in the mirror, I grabbed my bag and headed out, feeling excited for a day of shopping.
As we stepped outside, I noticed two of Junseong's bodyguards waiting by a sleek black car. "Really hyungs? You guys didn't have to come," I said, rolling my eyes playfully.
"It's not our choice, Mr. Seongho. Mr. Lee told us to follow you whenever you go out ," one of the guards replied, a hint of amusement in his tone. I sighed, knowing there was no arguing with Junseong orders when he was in protective mode. He was like a lion with his cub—fiercely devoted.
"Fine, fine. Just try not to be too obvious," I said, shaking my head as we climbed into the car. I slipped on a mask before we reached the mall, not wanting to attract unnecessary attention. Today was about enjoying time with my sister, not dealing with the drama that often came with being hubby's partner.
Once inside the mall, we wandered through the shops, my excitement growing as I picked out things for Mangchi: new toys, treats, and all the necessities a spoiled cat could want. Noona bought some shoes , handbags and clothes for her self,I also couldn't resist grabbing some new clothes and cosmetics for myself, especially since I was thinking of resuming my YouTube channel. I even found a couple of nice watches and perfumes for Junseong. He deserved the best, after all.
After a successful shopping spree, noona and I were in high spirits, holding delicious sundaes in our hands as we strolled through the mall, casually discussing what else we could buy. "I think we should get something nice for the staff at home too. They work so hard," I suggested, scanning the shops for anything that might catch my eye.
Just as I was about to point out a cute dress, someone bumped into me, causing my sundae to splatter all over my shirt. "What the—?" I exclaimed, looking up to see Ha Young standing there with a plastic bimbo looking friend of hers, a smirk plastered across her face.
"Oops! Didn't see you there," she said, her tone dripping with sarcasm. I could feel my blood boil as I clenched my teeth beneath my mask.
Noona's expression darkened, her knuckles turning white as she glared at Ha Young. "You better watch where you're going," she spat, ready to defend me at all costs.
"Nice mask, Seongho," Ha Young said, her smirk widening. "But it's not enough to hide that ugly tattoo on your neck. That gave you away."
I took a deep breath, trying to keep my cool. "How did you recognize me despite the mask?" I asked, my voice steady.
"Like I said, the tattoo," she replied, tossing her hair over her shoulder. "It's pretty distinctive."
Hyeri stepped forward, her protective instincts kicking in. "Stay away from my brother, Ha Young. Or I swear I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget."
Before I could respond, Ha Young's friend chimed in, "Maybe you should get married soon, old hag. You're getting close to menopause!" The insult hung in the air, and I could feel my anger boiling over.
As Ha Young and her friend turned to leave, something snapped inside me,I couldn't just stand there and let them insult my sister like that. I gripped the friend's arm and pulled her back, delivering three sharp slaps across her cheeks. The sound echoed through the mall, and a hush fell over the crowd as they became spectators to the unfolding drama.
Ha Young's eyes widened in shock, and she raised her hand as if to hit me. But before she could, one of hubby's bodyguards stepped in, twisting her arm behind her back and making her yelp in pain.
"Let me go idiot! Don't you know who I am anymore?" she yelled, her voice rising in panic.
"Actually miss Ha young, we do," the bodyguard replied coolly. "You're the one causing trouble here."
Ha Young shot back, "You've forgotten that your boss,Lee Junseong,is going to be my husband!" The murmurs from the crowd intensified, bringing out phones to record the unfolding drama.
I realized that it was time to make my stand and I took a deep breath, removing my mask and revealing my face to the onlookers. "So it was billionaire Lee's husband all along,"I heard some people said and I announced, my voice steady and loud enough for everyone to hear. "I'm Lee Junseong's partner, and no one can take my place in my husband's life—not even a witch like you, Ha Young!"
Cheers erupted from the crowd, and I felt a rush of adrenaline as noona beamed with pride beside me. Ha Young's face twisted in frustration, her mouth opening in disbelief.
"Just wait, Seongho! One day, Junseong will throw you out on the streets after he marries me!" she spat, her voice laced with venom. She turned on her heel, her friend pulling her arm as they stormed away, embarrassment painted across their faces.
The crowd erupted in applause, and I couldn't help but feel a flush creep up my cheeks. I had never intended to draw this much attention, but it felt good to stand my ground.
Hyeri handed me a tissue to clean the sundae stain on my shirt, her eyes sparkling with admiration. "That was amazing! You really showed her!" she said, grinning.
As we made our way back to the car, the bodyguards helped us with our shopping bags, and I could still feel the eyes of the shoppers on me. The incident would surely be the talk of the mall and social media for days, but I didn't care. I had stood up for myself, and I felt stronger for it.
As we drove home, I couldn't shake the feeling that this was just the beginning of my journey as Lee Junseong's partner. I was ready to face whatever challenges came my way, even if it meant dealing with people like Ha Young.
After a long and eventful day at the mall, we finally made it back home. Hyeri was visibly tired, her eyes drooping as we walked through the front door. "I'm going to take a nap," she announced, yawning widely. "Wake me up for dinner, okay?"
"Of course, Noona," I replied, smiling as she headed up to her room. I was feeling a bit drained myself, but I couldn't resist the excitement of unpacking my shopping haul.
As I made my way to the kitchen, I called out to the maids who were bustling around. "Hey, can you help me with these?" I gestured to the bags filled with goodies. They quickly gathered around, eager to assist.
Together, we headed to my room, where I set down the bags filled with snacks and goodies. "I brought these for you all as a thank you for everything you do!"
The maids' eyes lit up as they unwrapped the treats. "You're so thoughtful, Mr. Seongho!" one of them exclaimed.
I grinned, feeling the warmth of the moment. "And don't forget our old man at the gate!" I added, sending one of them off with a bag for Ahjussi making a mental note of going to appreciate for keeping us safe tomorrow.
"Make sure to put the ice cream in the freezer," I instructed, a guilty smile creeping onto my face. I knew my husband would probably scold me for buying too much, but I couldn't resist the temptation of those sweet treats.
I quickly sorted through the items I'd bought for myself and hubby, placing them neatly in my closet. I also set aside the toys and new scratching post I had picked up for Mangchi, excited to show him later. The little guy had been a bit grumpy lately, and I hoped these new additions would cheer him up.
After I finished unpacking, I turned to the maids trailing behind me, a few still carrying the leftover bags. "Thank you for your help! I appreciate it," I said, smiling at them. They returned my smile and nodded, their faces brightening at my gratitude.
"Just let us know if you need anything else, Seongho," one of them replied cheerfully.
"I won't be coming out until dinner time, so I'll be resting," I informed them, closing the door behind me. The quiet of my room enveloped me, and I felt a wave of relaxation wash over me.
I quickly stripped off my clothes and headed to the shower, letting the warm water cascade over me. It felt refreshing after the chaos of the day, washing away the remnants of my earlier stress. I took my time, enjoying the solitude and the soothing sensation of the water.
Once I finished my shower, I wrapped myself in a towel and stepped out, feeling rejuvenated. I glanced over at Mangchi's bed, and my heart melted at the sight of my little furball sprawled out, looking particularly grumpy. He always had a way of expressing his displeasure, especially when I left him behind for shopping trips.
"Hey, grumpy fluff ball," I cooed, picking him up and cradling him in my arms. He squirmed a little at first, but I gently kissed his forehead and started to pet him, feeling his soft fur against my skin. Slowly, his grumpiness seemed to fade as he began to purr, leaning into my touch.
"I missed you too," I said softly. "I got you some new toys and a cozy bed. You're going to love it! And there's a new scratching post for you to claw at." I continued to pet him, and his purring grew louder, filling the room with a comforting sound.
Mangchi looked up at me with sleepy eyes, and I couldn't help but laugh. "If you're well-rested, we can play together later, okay? I promise you'll love all the new stuff!"
After a while, Mangchi's purring lulled me into a peaceful state, and I noticed he had fallen asleep in my arms. I gently placed him back on his bed, ensuring he was comfortable before standing up.
Feeling a little sleepy myself, I wandered over to my closet and rummaged through Junseong's shirts. I found one of his soft, oversized shirts and slipped it on, relishing the familiar scent that clung to the fabric. It felt like a hug from him, and I smiled at the thought.
With the room quiet and cozy, I climbed into bed, pulling the covers up around me. I closed my eyes, letting the warmth of the afternoon wrap around me like a gentle embrace. It wasn't long before I drifted off to sleep, the sound of Mangchi's soft purring lulling me into a peaceful slumber.
Third person's point of view
After dinner, the house was enveloped in a warm, comfortable silence, punctuated only by the soft murmurs of Seongho and Hyeri as they exchanged light-hearted banter. Their laughter echoed through the mansion , creating a cozy atmosphere. But as the night wore on, Hyeri stifled a yawn and excused herself, leaving Seongho feeling a twinge of loneliness settle in. He wasn't ready to go to bed just yet; not when his husband, had yet to return from work.
With a sigh, Seongho settled into the living room, picking up his phone in an attempt to distract himself. As he scrolled through social media, however, his heart sank when he stumbled upon a video capturing the heated argument between him and Ha young at the mall. The comment section was ablaze with opinions, both sympathetic and scathing. He groaned softly, feeling the weight of scrutiny pressing down on him. It was all too much; he wasn't accustomed to this level of attention, and he certainly didn't want to grow used to it.
Time dragged on like a sluggish river, but finally, Seongho heard the unmistakable sound of Junseong's car crunching into the driveway. A wave of relief surged through him. He sprang up from the couch, anticipation bubbling in his chest.
As soon as Junseong walked through the door, Seongho hurried over, arms wide, and enveloped him in a tight hug, burying his face in the familiar warmth of Junseong's shoulder. "You're finally back!" he exclaimed, his voice muffled but brimming with joy.
Junseong chuckled softly, a smile spreading across his face as he lovingly patted Seongho's back. "Missed you too, little one," he replied, his eyes sparkling as they stepped inside together.
"I made you some Japchae, hubby," Seongho said, a note of excitement threading through his words.
Junseong's eyes lit up with appreciation. "You spoil me," he said with a grin before heading to up their room to freshen up, while Seongho busily plated the dish, making sure it looked just right.
Once he was finished, he floated into the bedroom, where Junseong was already settled on the bed, running a hand through his hair. "Here you go!" Seongho announced, holding out the plate with both hands as if it were a treasure.
"Thanks, little one," Junseong replied, diving into the meal with a contented smile, savoring each bite.
Watching Junseong enjoy the meal, Seongho couldn't help but spill the day's events. "You won't believe what happened at the mall! Noona and I ran into Ha-young," he started, his voice rising with indignation as he recounted the encounter. "She was with one of her plastic friends, and they were so rude to us!"
His cheeks flushed with passionate irritation, and he leaned forward, unable to contain his excitement. "I ended up slapping Ha-young's friend three times on her face after she insulted Noona! And when she tried to hit me back, the bodyguards had to step in and twist her arm before pushing her to the ground. It was so embarrassing for her!"
Junseong's expression darkened at the mention of Ha-young. "I can't believe she would treat your sister like that," he said, his voice low, simmering with anger.
Seongho, sensing the tension, reached out to gently squeeze Junseong's arm. "But I am trying to calm you down, am i not?" he teased, attempting to lighten the mood. "No need to get worked up over her." He shot Junseong a playful pout, puffing his cheeks adorably, knowing it always worked to soften his husband's heart.
A chuckle escaped Junseong, the tension easing from his shoulders as he ruffled Seongho's hair affectionately. "You're right. Still, she had it coming."
Seongho continued, excitement bubbling in his voice. "I also bought some cute things! New dresses for Noona, a few things for the mansion staff, and some accessories for myself—plus watches and perfumes for you!" His eyes glowed with enthusiasm, clearly enjoying the moment of sharing. He didn't mention the stash of ice cream he had bought, knowing Junseong would scold him for indulging.
"Sounds like quite the shopping spree," Junseong said, finishing his meal. "But why did you wait up for me? You should have gone to bed."
Seongho puffed his cheeks again, giving Junseong a mock scolding look. "Because you took so long! I was worried!"
Junseong laughed, shaking his head fondly at Seongho's antics. "I went to visit Taesung with Taejoon," he explained, noticing the surprise flicker in Seongho's eyes.
"Taejoon? The one from the Met Gala?" Seongho's curiosity piqued, recalling the brief but memorable encounter.
"Yeah, we've managed to make peace," Junseong replied, his tone softening. "He helped me a lot when you were kidnapped in New York, even providing me with the warehouse location."
Seongho nodded, fully understanding the weight of that gesture. "I'm glad you two worked it out. It must have been hard for you."
Junseong smiled, his gaze warm, then added, "Oh, and Minhyuk, Tae-joon's husband, will be visiting soon."
Seongho's eyes lit up with delight. "I can't wait!" he exclaimed, his enthusiasm contagious.
As their conversation continued, Seongho slowly began to drift off, clutching his pajamas tightly with small fists, making him look so small and utterly adorable. Junseong watched him with a fond smile, his heart swelling with affection. He gently caressed Seongho's head until his breathing evened out, and he fell into a peaceful slumber.
Just then, Junseong's phone buzzed with a new notification, pulling him back to reality. Glancing down, he saw a message from his mother: the Jeongs had taken the marriage case to court, and the first hearing was scheduled for next Wednesday .A smirk spread across his lips, a confident glint igniting his eyes.
Nobody could ever defeat Lee Junseong, and by tooth or nail, he would make sure that he never marries Ha-young. He placed his phone on the nightstand , his gaze lingering on Seongho's peaceful face and ensured his husband was comfortable before settling in beside him. Whatever challenges lay ahead them, they would face it together.
As I wrote this chapter, I found myself constantly bouncing between giggling fits and serious contemplation. Seongho's clingy sweetness towards Junseong is ridiculously adorable—the kind of fluff that makes you want to squeal with delight. But then BAM! The reality of the impending legal battle hits, and the whole scene takes on a much more serious tone. The mall incident—that glorious slap and the bodyguard's perfectly timed intervention—is pure comedic gold, but it's also a stark reminder of the high stakes involved. Junseong's resolve to avoid marrying Ha-young adds another layer of tension, making the whole thing a delightful, anxiety-inducing rollercoaster.
