2 The piano room

Ring, ring, ring! Mian woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. Who could be calling her? She picked up the phone while rubbing her eyes in egestion.

"FENG MIAN! I thought that I told you to answer faster! Do not waste my time." Mian could hear her managers angry voice yelling through the phone

"Sorry manager Lee. Why did you call me? I shouldn't have any performances today." Mian answered.

"You do now! Annie had to go to a sudden trip with her boyfriend and so you will be responsible for her performance today."

"What?" Now Mian was fully awake.

"It's the A corporations anniversary party. They need a pianist to perform to them while they're dining. I've send the songs to your Email. Learn them by 4 pm and get ready. You have to be at *** dining hall bt 5:30 pm. DO NOT mess this up!"

"Wait wha…" Beeb beeb beeb beeb. The phone got cut off.

"Freaking god!" Mian shouted and threw her phone away. Today was supposed to be her day off. She wanted to celebrate her birthday, buy a cake and maybe go to the seaside to look at the sceneries, but now she had to spend the day playing piano! Learning new piano pieces can take days for even experienced performers. These were also songs for dining, which meant that they would be slow… Also she didn't want to perform in front of those rich CEO's. Who knows what could happen to a girl like her in front of those ugly perverts! This was totally Annies plan! 'sudden trip with her boyfriend' Totally!

As Mian was getting her anger out she got another message on her phone. Who is it this time?

"Happy birthday sis Mian! -Annie"

"F*ck!" Mian cursed.

A little while later she went to see what kinds of songs she had to learn. Four Main learning the pieces wasn't hard. Learning them just from the notes took her couple hours, but if she heard the song she would immediately know how to play it. Of course the song would just be in her short term memory and she wouldn't remember it for long, but for this job she didn't actually need to remember them. Just playing the songs ones should be ok. As she was looking at the song she saw something in one of the notes. She immediately called her manager as she saw the notes.

"Manager Lee. Can I please not perform the song The Ash Grove?" Mian asked with a helpless voice.

"Why. I'm not the one who can decide that." Manager Lees voice sounded annoyed. Mian felt a little anxious.

"But you know that I can't sing!" Mian tried again.

"You know how to sing. You just keep saying that you don't. Don't be lazy and just learn the songs!" Manager Lees voice was really angry. Then the call was cut off. Mian get really anxious now. She hadn't sang anything for two years. Even talking had been hard for her turning the past year. It honestly was a miracle that she could play the piano anymore. Even tho every time she did, she would remember those horrofindg years. Singing was even more impossible. It would sound ok to the outsiders, but after the song ends...Still… What could she do? Maybe she should ask the holder of the party to change to song? Or maybe someone else could be the singer instead of her? She'd just have to learn the piano part and everything would be ok.

Mian quickly looked at the clock. It was 11 am. She still had five hours to practise and the she'd have to dress up and go. there was no time to waste so she quickly went to her piano and started practising. The room where her piano was was the only room which actually looked nice. The room was small, but the piano gave it a noble vibe. On top of the piano where some flowers and sunlight shined to the piano keys. There Was a bookshelf filled with notes and notebooks for different songs. There was also a small table that had empty note papers, just in case She ever wanted to write her own songs again. The whole room was in harmony. It was the only place in the world where Mian could feel at ease. As she sat down in front of the piano and laid her fingers on the ceyes, she let go of her mind and only concentrated on her thought. She songs where slow, the notes filled the air and the music was beautiful. Still the girl looked as if her mind was elsewhere. Her eyes empty and actons like that of a dolls. five hours...
