Totally unfazed... Ch. 5

Somewhere In the middle of the night*

"Eughh" A man groaned.

" Hey! be quiet.. and keep moving, we need to get this thing to the fort before the sun rises.."

There were 6 men, they dressed like a bandit, all armed and travelling with a huge carriage in the center pulled by 4 horses. They're travelling through the woods , with only their torches and the moonlight shining through the leaves onto their path. Through the thick's woods, all that can be heard are the big wheels of the carriage, footsteps of the horses slowly moving through the muddy paths.

*CREAKS, CREAKS…

One of the men at the back of the carriage got curious.. " Boss.. what's in the carriage?"

The other man who seems to be the leader was hesitant to answered..

" …Something you don't need to know… we deliver what we're told to deliver, and we get paid… End of the story."

" B-but it's strange, the place we're delivering this too, isn't it the fort of Ophi-"

" SHUT what's your saying!! Do you want to get slaughtered?! We do not speak of their na-"

* BANG! NEIGHHH*

" Wha-what happened over there?!"

" Sir! I-I think the leash got torn off… and one of the horses got away.. no-now the carriage has titled downward at the front.."

" Da-Damn it!.. we won't make it in time, we'll have to take turns pulling this.. huuu..let's hope that thing won't be waking up anytime soon…"

*BANG*

"ARGHHH"

"!!! What's happening back there!!"

"Si- Sir the carriage broke wide open… som-something just crawled out of there.. it got on-one of us.."

" Shits!! Alright. Everybody Gather Around!! Form a formation! back behind each others..be careful of the woods, get the horses… We're Getting outta Here!!"

" Yes Si!! AAaRGH"

the man was dragged in the woods, his screams echoes through the trees in agony, then went silent.

The men that was left was petrified, they couldn't had seen what happened, it all happened so fast, they could only see its shadow, but they knew… that thing was undoubtedly humongous . They shakenky held onto their weapons, praying that the monster fill its stomach already, but one by one they were dragged away, and finally the only one left was the leader of the bandits.

For his last desperate attempt to challenge the monster-

he yelled " AAARGH!!! Come Out!! Yes Beast!! I'll Take Your Life Here!!"

For a moment, there was silence.. then his was granted…

There.. the beast slowly crawled out of the woods and it's appearance was fully shown, illuminated by the moon.

" Oh my..heavens… You're a…" that was the man last words and the woods became silent again.

Back to the manor*

It's boring. I've been in this house for days now, I wanna go out.

Holly said that she's going to take me to visit the town, but she looks busy these days, so I can't bother to ask her now.

I also had some ideas to go explore around the manor, but they said that the woods surrounding here is dangerous lately… what a bummer…hmm what are you guys chatting about?

I was hearing a few maids whispering something outside my window…

" Did you hear? Some people's been going around, digging at the cemetery again."

"Seriously? These thievens…they thought they could be well off after disturbing the resting place of the dead huh.."

"Hey if I can become rich like the Corvus, I'll be digging graves too.. hehe"

"Uhh?! You seriously got no morals at all don't you?! Don't forget your friend when you're well off!! Haha!"

"Damn, you're one to say.."

They all started to laugh without a care in the world. Wow..These maids are really good at gossiping huh. Remind me of my neighbors…

"Yeah ladies, jokes aside, grave digging is not a new thing, the real story I heard, was that those people.. while they were robbing the grave.., they saw a.. Ghost!!"

Oh?

"Wha-what?! No way there's no such thing as a ghost in this world!"

"It's true! I heard that not one…But all of them saw it! A huge shadow figures was behind one of the grave stones! They said it has glowing red eyes staring right into their souls. It scared them all so bad, they just ran for it and left all their belongings there too!"

"Woah.. Tha-that sounds like a story to scare kids huh" guess one of the maid was a bit spooked huh.

"Well are you scared then?" The other maid asked sarcastically.

"SH-Shut UP! Who Said I'm Scared?!"

They laughed it off after scaring each other knowing that not one of them have to go near that place… I'll definitely have to go to that cemetery tonight!

I was a huge horror fanatics in my past life, watching all kind of scary movies, and ghost hunting videoes. After hearing this, I prepared myself to sneak out tonight, making sure no one's following me..

I don't wanna get dragged back here before I could catch of a glimpse of a ghost…Especially Irene. After that day, I stopped avoiding her, we just give each other friendly looks and move on… but whenever we accidentally met alone, she would try to strike a conversation with me, trapping me there with new flavor of cookies every time, and each time I failed for it like a Rat!

"My lady… wouldn't you like to caress my head again?"

"Wha-what?! What makes you say such a thing! I-I'm leaving!"

How annoying! Nowadays she would say such absurd things right to my face! even just seeing her face is so tempting, like why is a goddess here offering me a cookie and want to know how my days are?! I think if she wanted to she could seduce her way to the throne or something, oh yeah that can definitely happen.. she's the main character after all, hah!

…Well whatever, if I remember correctly, tonight should be the full moon and there's a heartwarming scene that's going to happen between the female lead and one of the male lead in the garden. The only male lead I think that could possibly be there tonight would be my brother, that prick.. or it can be that person.. thinking about it now, I wonder if Irene had met him yet.. yeah let's not think about it, that guy's insane too, let's just hope this can distract Irene for a bit, but I personally hope that Irene would just stay in bed and don't meet with these crazy people. That would be best.

The sun was slowly falling, I had my dinner early today telling Holly I wanna go to bed early. I prepared my bags and get ready to move.

" Sorry Holly." I let the rope that was made with my clothes down, I jumped out and ran straight into the woods.

*Pants, Pants*

I kept running for a while, far enough until the woods covered the whole estate and in no sight to be seen at all.

" Whuuu.. Alright.."

I slowed down for a bit, took out a compass, and examined the map.

"So that must be the manor up there.. and if I moved along the trail here down south, there would be a cross path to the cemetery and the other to a waterfall… then this would be-"

*Crunch!*

I quickly turn my head to the source of the sound.

" Who's there?!"

Silent creeps in again… must have been the wind..

"… I better hurry before anyone notice.."

As I walked in the dirt trail, I began to notice that this wood is undeniably scary.. the thick pines barely letting any light shines through, the chill air that rising up the moment the sun has fallen… the only way I can see the road is with my lantern…

"Huuu...I'm finally at the cross paths, now if I turn left it would lead me to the cemetery.. I think?"

*Crunch!*

This is no coincidence anymore.

!!! "Alright WHO's there?! I'm not having this! ..Show yourself!"

I immediately pulled out my pocket knife, this is getting annoying, I had a feeling since earlier that someone was following me.

Whoever it is, they don't seem to have any bad intentions or try to get in my way though… if they wanted, they could have done things to me anytime by now.. but I have to be sure…

My eyes scanned through the woods, there was nothing in particular… I was getting a bit nervous that no one answered back and the woods became silent again..

Craps! I'm going insane aren't I?! Maybe I panicked a bit too much I didn't notice my steps was slowly going backwards, and at that moment, I bumped into something.. or somebody… my hand moved before I could see what it was.

*Swing!! *

I swinged my knife around my back, hoping to hit something but at that moment something dodged and caught my arm. Chills ran down my spine.. wha-what..

I was ready to cut my hand off right then from whatever was grabbing me, but..now that I'm taking closer look..

"I-Irene..?!"

"My lady…"

What are you doing here?! And why you! of all people?!
