Playing PokeMMO In Another World

Imagine a Guy with barebone knowledge of Pokémon, gets transferred to a World where no one knows about Pokémon And the said World somehow gets connected to a World which is similar to Pokémon Games. Well, This Story is all about that Guy. Introducing Dipper, a normal teen who stumbled upon a game called PokeMMO while watching a short video. Dipper who is neither a Pokémon expert nor had he ever played a Pokémon game other than Pokémon Fire Red was intrigued by the game and chose to give it a try. While Dipper was immersed in the game, a powerful bolt of purple lightning struck his house's roof. Dipper didn't had time to react as he watched lightning tore through the roof of his house and struck him. Waking up after the strike, Dipper finds himself in a completely different world – a world almost identical to his original world. Almost, as nothing related to Pokémon exist in this World, be it Pokémon anime, Pokémon games, or even Pokémon cards. Thinking that this was just a normal world, Dipper went outside only to witness the most unimaginable thing in the sky he could have thought of. "Is that a bird...?" "No, it's a plane...?" "It's a giant Professor Oak." ------------------------------------------------------------ Warning - MC is a noob when it comes to Pokémon, So he will make some choices that you'll expect from someone who is new to Pokémon. ------------------------------------------------------------ Disclaimer - Pokémon and Characters related to Pokémon belongs to there rightful owners. Ch. 11 - Another Try

After Ponyta reached level 10, I stopped and made my way to the Pokemon Center. It took more time to level up Ponyta because of the low-level wild Pokemon, but the plus point of that was I didn't have to waste my time making trips to the Pokemon Center to get my Pokemon healed after 1 or 2 battles.

After healing my Pokemon, I checked the data of both the Oddish and the Bellsprout.

[A/N - Base stats and EVs are the same as the other Oddish.]

[HP IV : 13

Attack IV : 23

Defense IV : 08

Sp. Atk IV : 27

Sp. Def IV : 07

Speed IV : 09

Total : 87/186]

[A/N - Moves and Ability are also the same as the other Oddish.]

'This Oddish has much better IVs than the other Oddish but they are still not that good. So, this one is also going to the PC box.'

After examining Oddish's data, I moved on to Bellsprout.

[PokeDEX : 069

Name : Bellsprout (Grass, Poison)

Nature : Hasty

XP : 96

To Next Lv. : 39]

[HP : 18/18

Attack : 11

Defense : 08

Sp. Atk : 11

Sp. Def : 08

Speed : 08]

[A/N - EVs are 0 for newly caught Pokemon.]

[HP IV : 07

Attack IV : 05

Defense IV : 31

Sp. Atk IV : 21

Sp. Def IV : 25

Speed IV : 06

Total : 95/186]

[Vine Whip <Grass > PP: 25/25

Growth <Normal > PP: 20/20

------ PP: 0/0

------ PP: 0/0

Ability : Chlorophyll (Double Speed during harsh sunlight.)]

'Bellsprout has a perfect IV in defense and decent IVs in Sp. Atk IV and Sp. Def IV. But it is falling behind in other IVs.'

'I can use this Bellsprout for some time until I catch a better Pokemon.'

'Let's level up Bellsprout a little and then challenge the Pewter City Gym.'

After putting Oddish into the PC box, I once again made my way to 'Route 2' and continued grinding, this time with Bellsprout.

Rattata Lv. 3 <Defeated >

Pidgey Lv. 4 <Defeated >

Bellsprout Lv. 3 <Defeated >

Bellsprout Lv. 4 <Defeated >

Pidgey Lv. 4 <Defeated >

[Bellsprout grew to Lv. 7]

After leveling Bellsprout to Lv. 7, I healed my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center and made my way to the Pewter City Gym.

[You are challenged by Camper Liam]

I had Hoothoot at the front of the team to bait him to send out his Geodude first.

Similar to last time, he sent out his Geodude, to face against my Hoothoot.

Hoothoot Lv. 10 - 33/33

Geodude Lv. 10 - 100%

I knew that Hoothoot would be knocked out in one move, but It would allow Bellsprout to finish Geodude as long as he didn't switch to Sandshrew.

Using <Confusion >, which was effective against Geodude, took 24.1% of Geodude's HP.

Hoothoot Lv. 10 - 33/33

Geodude Lv. 10 - 75.9%

Geodude used <Rock Tomb>, a super effective move against Hoothoot, knocking Hoothoot out.

[Hoothoot fainted]

I chose to switch to Bellsprout.

Bellsprout Lv. 07 - 24/24

Geodude Lv. 10 - 75.9%

I used <Vine Whip>, which was super effective against Geodude, leaving him with only 13.8% HP.

Bellsprout Lv. 07 - 24/24

Geodude Lv. 10 - 13.8%

In response, Geodude again used <Rock Tomb>, knocking almost all of Bellsprout's HP.

Bellsprout Lv. 07 - 02/24

Geodude Lv. 10 - 13.8%

I chose to use <Vine Whip> again, but the opponent used <Tackle >, which was performed first because of Geodude's speed stats, knocking my Bellsprout out.

[Bellsprout fainted]

I chose to send out Charmander next.

Charmander Lv. 12 - 33/33

Geodude Lv. 10 - 13.8%

Using <Dragon Breath>, I knocked Geodude out.

[Foe's Geodude fainted]

[Charmander gained 162 EXP. Points]

The opponent sent out his Sandshrew next.

Charmander Lv. 12 - 33/33

Sandshrew Lv. 11 - 100%

I used <Dragon Breath>, which not only took 39.4% of the Sandshrew's HP but also paralyzed him.

Charmander Lv. 12 - 33/33

Sandshrew Lv. 11 <Paralyzed > - 60.6%

[The foe's Sandshrew is Paralyzed!, It can't move!]

Because of the paralyzed status, Sandshrew was not able to move.

Again, I chose <Dragon Breath>.

Charmander Lv. 12 - 33/33

Sandshrew Lv. 11 <Paralyzed > - 24.2%

[The foe's Sandshrew is Paralyzed!, It can't move!]

Luck seemed to be on my side as Sandshrew was not able to move again.

Using <Dragon Breath> once more, I knocked Sandshrew out.

[Foe's Sandshrew fainted]

[Charmander gained EXP. Points]

[Charmander grew to Lv. 13]

[Charmander wants to learn the move <Metal Claw>]

[But Charmander already knows four moves.]

[Should a move be deleted and replaced with <Metal Claw>?]

Looking at the notification, I chose to forget <Growl > and learn <Metal Claw> in its place.

[Charmander forgot how to use <Growl >]

[Charmander has learned <Metal Claw>]

[You have defeated Camper Liam]

"Darn! Light-years isn't time... It measures distance!" said Camper Liam as he went back to his original standing location.

[You got ₽220 for winning!]

After defeating Camper Liam, I know that I am still too weak to face off against Brock.

I need to have both Charmander and Bellsprout at Lv. 15 before I have a chance of winning against Brock.

Exiting the Pewter City Gym, I headed to the Pokemon Center to heal my Pokemon.

After healing my Pokemon, I took out my PokeDEX to see how much time I had left.

[DIPPER - Issued 20XX-02-02

PokeDEX - 6

Money - ₽396

Max Obedience - Lv. 20

Time Remaining : 00:34:21

<Gym Badges>]

Surprisingly, I still had 30 minutes left. So, I went to 'Route 2' to grind.

Rattata Lv. 4 <Defeated >

Rattata Lv. 5 <Defeated >

[Bellsprout grew to Lv. 8]

[Bellsprout learned the move <Wrap >]

Pidgey Lv. 4 <Defeated >

Bellsprout Lv. 4 <Defeated >

[Bellsprout grew to Lv. 9]

Rattata Lv. 3 <Defeated >

Weedle Lv. 4 <Defeated >

[You found a Poke Ball]

Caterpie Lv. 5 <Defeated >

Pidgey Lv. 5 <Defeated >

[Bellsprout grew to Lv. 10]

After grinding and making 2 trips to the Pokemon Center, Bellsprout finally leveled up to Lv. 10. Just in time since I only had 3 minutes left in the Pokemon world.

As I made my way out of the tall grass, I saw someone running toward 'Pewter City'.

'A player has reached 'Pewter City', It took almost 2 days.'

The player ran past the tall grass, not noticing me.

'And the way he is running to the city, his Pokemon must be almost at their last HP.'

I walked out of the tall grass and started heading toward Pokemon Center, but I couldn't reach Pokemon Center, my time ran out, and I was back in the real world.

I picked up my phone and made a call to the manager of my part-time job to notify him of my leave. I chose not to go to work today and rest at home.

After the call, I set an alarm for 2 hours from now and went to sleep.

While lying on the bed after waking up, I checked the internet for anything interesting in the Kanto region, one headline caught my attention.

[First player to reach 'Pewter City' And You too can reach 'Pewter City'.]

Looking at its upload time, it hadn't been 10 minutes since the article was uploaded. I clicked on it and read through the whole article. The article was about a player named 'Bob', the first known player who crossed 'Viridian Forest'.

'Bob' said that he had to make multiple trips to the 'Viridian Forest' and defeat the NPC Pokemon trainers while running away from the wild Pokemon. The NPC Pokemon trainers will fight only once if you successfully defeat them.

Later in the article, He also said that running away from the wild Pokemon saved him a lot of time as he didn't have to waste time in wild Pokemon encounters as well as return to the 'Viridian City' in case the Pokemon faints after fighting wild Pokemon.

In the last part of the article, there was a guide for navigating through the natural maze of 'Viridian Forest' and reaching 'Pewter City'.

'After reading this article more, and more players will be able to reach 'Pewter City'. The more the players, the longer the <Wait Time> in the Pokemon Center will be. That means I will have to waste more time healing my Pokemon after grinding.'

'Now, I need to do 3 things as soon as possible.'

1 - Catch an Oddish with decent IVs.

2 - Level up Charmander and Bellsprout to Lv. 15.

3 - Defeat Brock and leave 'Pewter City'.
