Chapter 41: Alex vs Joseph (II)

As he backed away, Alex half turned backward to get away from Joseph, who looked like an indestructible wall of steel.

 'Not even a scratch', they all thought in unison as they saw the spot where Alex's kick had landed, which didn't show the slightest bruise.

 Looking at the non-existent damage, Alex realized that physical attacks would not do much damage to the massive body of the man in front of him.

 But that only brought a smile to Alex's face, which now seemed more thrilled than before.

 He stretched out his hand, accumulating mana at a much faster rate than when he had faced the cockroach doll.

 Soon, brown orbs began to float around him, only to later turn into extremely sharp diamond-shaped rocks.

 "Go," Alex commanded, causing the rocks to move directly toward Joseph at a speed similar to Alex's earlier movement.

 There were about twenty sharp rocks that were not only meant to cause damage, each one was as big as a finger or even bigger, and just one piercing a major organ would cause fatal damage.

But suddenly, Joseph began to move.

 *He gasped*

 Everyone gasped in surprise at the act of suicide before them.

But from the large amount of mana Joseph put into that barrier, it looked pretty tough, and that tough appearance wasn't just skin deep.

 Clucking his tongue in irritation, Joseph gathered mana in a split second before he hit the wall, but not on his surroundings, but on himself, on his own body.

 *Boom!

 The colossal impact happened where everyone expected Joseph to be destroyed with holes all over his body.

 Despite the rule of not killing anyone in this round, everyone remained seated and silent, not moving a single muscle to help, but each one watching the spectacle.

 "Phew, that's it," Alex sighed when he felt that his attack had been successful.

 He didn't doubt for a moment that his opponent had withstood the attack, after all, Sharp Barrier was the combination of Sharp Rock and Earth Wall, making it a level 2 skill, which was still a basic skill, but much more powerful.

"What's what over?" a voice commented, so husky and deep, a voice Alex had only heard once in his life, but he immediately remembered who the voice belonged to.

 "What the...? Ugh."

 Without even having time to be surprised, a punch smashed through the wall covering him in one fell swoop. It was so fast and so sudden that Alex didn't have time to dodge, but as the blow connected with his stomach, he was thrown back.

 The attack was so powerful that it even felt as if Alex's stomach had been moved backwards.

 Alex's eyes almost popped out of their sockets, and his hands held his stomach and fist wrist, which had not moved after the impact ended.

 The impact had not only caused this immense damage, but had also brutally shaken Alex's mental state, causing the sharp barrier to disappear into the mana particles.

 Lifting his face, he could see the body of the person who had attacked him.

 Obviously, it was Joseph, but he looked very different from before.

He had holes all over his body, but they seemed to be closing up, not because of some kind of regeneration or anything, but because of the tension and pressure of his own muscles, which were much larger than before.

 Veins protruded from his body, while blood stained his entire body and face, and not only that, he had grown in size, he was almost ten feet tall.

 This... looks more like an ogre than a human,' Alex thought as he saw Joseph's current appearance, he smiled mysteriously.

 "Let's get this over with."
