"Cameron!" she shouted, rushing to the edge. He looked up at her, still drunk but somehow committed to his ridiculous vow.
"Don't help me! I said I wouldn't touch you! I'll... I'll get out myself!"
"Shut up and grab my hand!" she yelled, exasperated.He shook his head stubbornly.
"No, no. I need to prove my love!"Ava's eyes rolled so far back she practically saw her own brain. Furious, she leaned over, grabbed his shirt, and yanked him towards the edge with all the strength she could muster.
"Thanks for the assist, darling," he said with a goofy grin. "Remember how this pool brought us closer?"
"Stop talking and get out of the pool," she snapped.Finally, he wobbled out, drenched and unsteady. She watched him carefully to make sure he didn't topple back in. Grabbing his arm, she sighed, resigned to her fate. "Come on, let's get you inside before you drown... again."
