Our Chosen Representative

The show has ended.

The people that were gathered have learned more than what they expected, this world, this solar system, and the universe have so much more information than they could imagine and all of that will be handed to one person for him to handle.

Vito turned his head and looked towards Terra who was sitting quietly in his chair.

'The universe is big, I already knew that there was so much I didn't know, but knowing that one person has to learn most of this information and more, like survival skills for the upcoming tournament. I can't begin to imagine what Terra must be feeling.' He thought.

Breakfast is almost completely over, Edith is having her last few scones. She had saved those for last.

Terra who at first seemed confident and energetic seems shaken and tensed. He stares blankly at his plate and doesn't move so much as a muscle as much as he blinks.

Cyrus was looking towards Terra, he was quiet and intense and he had a hand placed on his chin. He was so focused that one would believe that he was studying Terra.

While some murmurs were going up and down in the room, this particular table of representatives was oddly quiet, each distracted with their thoughts.

It became so quiet that the loudest sound coming from the table was Edith munching on her scones.

Edith then puts down her scone and asks around with a concerned expression, "OK look, the silence is making me uncomfortable, we were just chilling and enjoying ourselves, did you really have to go and act awkward all of a sudden?"

Terra who breaks out of his trace apologizes and says, "Oh sorry, I was just thinking a lot about what I am going to do from now on. You know with space. And the whole thing is hitting me pretty harder than I expected. I guess I just had a rough night and a rapid morning."

Vito kept quiet hearing this.

Edith groans, "Haa, well can we at least talk about something? Anything is better than nothing."

Terra coughed up a smile for a moment as he replied, "You are right. Anything is better than nothing."

"So why'd you do it? Why'd you try and kill me, Vito?"

Vito's heart sunk in, this wasn't something he prepared for yet he felt like it would pop up on him eventually. The only problem was he didn't know what to say to explain his situation.

"It's- Complicated Terra," Vito replied.

Terra placed his hands on the tables, "I'm a good listener. I can work out the rest of the painting, I just need to know where to start from."

"It's a bit more complicated than a picture," Vito tells Terra.

Terra then squints his eyes at Vito for a moment as he says, "It's not the first time you know. That somebody has tried to kill me. And the last one was someone who was closer to me than you, so that explains why I am taking what you tried to do very lightly compared to what someone else would do."

"But I need to know the reason why you did it. If I can even give you any benefit of the doubt, then you coming clean to me now is the chance. Aren't we all representatives? Why kill someone who is on your side?"

"Because at that moment, Killing you felt like the Right thing to do," Vito answered as he interrupted Terra.

Terra was in shock hearing that, it was his first time hearing an answer like this before, and he didn't know how to respond.

"Look Terra, I wasn't in my right state of mind at that time and it led me to make some decisions that I regret. I'm not proud of them."

"I, am... sorry."

.....

The table was once more filled with silence. If any K-drama fanatic had been eavesdropping on this group then they would have been watching a real-life drama but without context, they would have thought that the two boys were arguing over something more passionately forbidden.

"Terra," Cyrus says as he tries to make a case for Vito.

"Don't even Cyrus. I have a feeling you were going to defend him. Am I wrong?" Terra asked. Cyrus shook his head accordingly.

Terra raised his hand without looking at Cyrus, "If he doesn't want to tell me, then it's fine. I won't force an answer or his story out of him or you for that matter, I know that you know more about him than anyone here. As to how much, that I don't know but I know you know enough to try and defend him."

"If he doesn't want to say anymore, then with what I have I will make do to try and understand his situation. But what about Edith? What's her say in this?" He asks as he turns his head to look at Edith.

Edith was shaken from being placed in the spotlight all of a sudden. She had been quietly munching on her muffins without saying a word and had her face filled with crumbs and her mouth full.

She was avoiding the tension but now that she was called out, she couldn't no more. She quickly swallowed the food in her mouth and hit her chest a little to allow the food to go down faster before she would speak.

"Well, out of everything I saw," Edith said as she looked from the plate on her table to Vito's eyes, "I couldn't believe that was you. I believe you have your reasons but that type of stuff would scare a normal person Vito."

Vito who felt in the wrong couldn't even say anything to try and build his case. He didn't want to talk about his family, especially not with Edith and Terra, Cyrus being the exception.

How could he come out and say that his family was part of a mafia and that they started the biggest gang war in California last year?

With no one talking or answering each other, the group remained in silence for as long as silence could be held.

Suddenly they were interrupted by a loud screeching of the floor as Sasha walked over and put her seat right there with them. Almost everyone in the room turned their heads to see who caused it.

Sasha then happily smiled and apologized to the room, "Sorry everyone, it's just me carry on." And with that, everyone goes back to chatting.

Sasha turned to Terra and asked, "So, how do you feel? Our chosen representative is getting to go to outer space very soon."

Sasha has a warm smile on her, she is dressed very differently from the other servants. While everyone else has clothing akin to that of waiters and waitresses, she is dressed far more elegantly than them.

She has on a striking shirt styled in medieval fashion, featuring a jabot and front ruffles. The shirt's pointed hem and intricate designs adorning the sleeve can perfectly cater to the portrayal of an enigmatic Victorian-era damsel at the prom.

In other words, she looks extremely pretty in her dark clothes and they really bring out her blonde hair.

Terra answers her question, "To be honest I feel conflicted a little bit. I'm still going but, I don't know what they will be like. The other representatives you know? Oh and blonde really looks nice on you, I see that you dyed your hair."

Sasha has a big smile on her face after receiving the compliment, "Oh thank you, darling, for noticing, yes I did dye my hair yesterday, I felt a little creative."

She then places her hand on Terra's hand and tells him, "It's all going to be alright. You are going to do the best you can do and that's going to be enough."

Suddenly they heard another squeak against the floor as another girl with blonde hair placed her chair by their table.

She is wearing an apricot-colored turtleneck cut-out eyelet detail sweater with a black and gold belt and black pants. She also has some pink-colored Acrylic nails.

This girl was dressed like a model.

"Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear what you said about being nervous, about going out to space and I just wanted to let you know Terra that we are with you and are cheering for you every step of the way."

She then places one hand on his cheek and another on his other hand as she turns his head to look at her.

Terra turns to her and says, "Oh, you are-" but he gets cut off by her saying, "You don't have to say my name, we most likely won't be seeing each other again after today. I just came to keep you, motivated." *wink.

Suddenly another screech is heard as Edith backs off of her chair and stands up. She walks over to where Terra is sitting and wraps her arms around his neck as she looks at the ladies holding his hands and says, "Don't worry, he is already quite motivated by me, So he doesn't need any strays licking on his hands."

Now Edith didn't particularly like Terra in a romantic way, but to see other women come into her territory and do whatever they pleased with him right in front of her just didn't sit right with her dominant side.

The three girls were all smiling at each other cutely with small laughs in between but anyone who was anyone with eyes could tell that this charade of theirs was a far cry from friendly. It was a warning to one another.

'Damnit, seriously Terra? Three blondes are fighting over you? What more can you do to hurt me? My-my dreams, crushed.' Vito thought.

At this point, their table was getting a little more attention as there were stares from every other table looking at them now. And one can feel the tension in the air as the three ladies fake smile at each other and laugh.

Alex coughs a little to get their attention and announces, "Ladies would you please go to your designated positions, it is time for the second part of the show, and almost 06:40 am, our dear Terra must get ready.

Sasha gets up from her seat, looks at Terra, and smiles before she lets go of his hand and walks away. The model seems to put something into Terra's other hand and then says to him, "Call me when you get back." She then winks and takes her chair with her to her table.

Terra opens his hand to see a piece of paper in his palm with some digits on it.

Vito was appalled, 'She gave him her number? He is going to space!!! what's he supposed to do? Find a satellite??'

Edith then whispers into Terra's ear, "You better throw that away," as she squeezes his shoulders tightly and sits back down.

Terra gulped a little as the pressure she had laid on his shoulder when she squeezed it caused him a tad bit of pain. Indicating that she was very capable of hurting him.

As the commotion died down, mostly due to Alex's influence, he walked on over to the center of the room again. "For the next part, we must prepare to say farewell to our representative but first, a change of scenery." He snaps his fingers and a bunch of curtains fall around us and cover the room in complete darkness.

There was a feel of a motion at their feet and a slight shake that vibrated the tables and after that, the curtains fell to reveal that they had been transported to the back of the hotel, where we were surrounded by bodies of water and trees all around them.

Everyone in the room was now certain that some magic was being used, this was the only way to describe the strange occurrences they had been seeing.

"First I would like you to note that this isn't magic but yes it is supernatural."

Many people thought he was messing with them and they couldn't even know whether to believe him on this or not. To some, he just wanted to keep this part a secret from the rest of the world, including them.

"This next part is to show appreciation from the earth to you all and especially you Terra, I hope you enjoy what we have prepared."

The bodies of water around us start to rise and float and then finally, they begin forming into sea creatures. Fish, sharks, lion seals, turtles, and especially dolphins. There seem to be a lot of those.

The fish rise and float about all around the people, they even open their mouths and squirt some water at people for fun. One of the whales even jumps out of the water and does a giant flip before splashing itself back in.

One water dolphin floats beside a girl with blue hair and a blue dress and kisses her on her cheek. She smiles and kisses it back and then it swoops down into the water and rises back up with birds made of water as well.

Then other non-aquatic animals like squirrels, chipmunks, bunnies, deer, and butterflies made of water begin to gather around and lay down a tiara on her head made of water with bubbles on top of it, to intricate jewels.

Turning them into princesses.

On Terra's table was a whole other story of its own, as there were tons of different animals moving about there. There are a lot of sea horses moving around Edith and even some turtles came to play with her too.

There was a lion seal with Cyrus and it seemed to be staring him in the eyes imitating every expression he made with his face. When he looks anyway it follows his gaze, when he looks annoyed, it looks annoyed and it keeps squinting its eyes at him as it does this. It's making fun of him for trying to act grumpy.

Terra himself was hugging an otter and it seemed to be making itself comfortable in Terra's arms.

Seeing the otter hug Terra, Vito noticed that the animals despite being made of water, haven't actually made anything wet at all. Everyone and everything they touch remains dry.

But seeing that he was distracted looking at Terra, he now wondered where his animal was. He turned around to see if anything was floating behind him and there was nothing. He looked up to see nothing floating there either. He even looked under the table in case it might be hiding but he saw nothing.

'That's strange, where did it go? If I had one, to begin with.)' He rubbed his chin as he thought because he believed it could be hiding and that since Cyrus did it when thinking then he should too in order to find it.

And that's when he saw a tentacle fall down from the top of his head. "Wait, no way, it can't be," he said, "An octopus??"

"Ah," he panicked and hit his head a little bit but it moved off of his head in time and he hit himself. "Damnit, stupid octopus. Why do I get that when someone else got an orca? I want something fierce and big and threatening or cute. Not an eight-legged fish."

Cyrus, Edith, and Terra started laughing at him after finally noticing that it was on his head.

"It's not funny, why did nobody tell me that it was there?"

Edith stops laughing but is still smiling, "It looked so cute on your head and we didn't want to ruin your fun."

"It wasn't fun," I say back to her. "It definitely wasn't."

"Cheer up," Cyrus says to me, "and enjoy the rest of the show. It was just 1 fish anyways, and you're lucky it was on your head instead."
