Ending The Event

Seeing Terra leave had some effect on Vito, he was left feeling dissatisfied with his position.

'Was my apology good enough? Did I settle things correctly or should I have told him the truth about me? I didn't want to share it but perhaps I should have. Maybe that would have cleared the air between us properly.'

'I could have done more.' These were the thoughts of Vito Gotti and as he thought of them, he didn't feel or notice it, but his shoulder was glowing faintly.

"It's okay." With a slight feeling on his shoulder, Cyrus was comforting Vito about his feelings. He didn't need to read him to notice that he felt conflicted about how he ended things to do so but he did notice a strange glow on his shoulder and by placing his hand there for a moment, he could feel the way that Vito felt.

And a small guilt had risen even in him, but before he could make sense of it all, it left.

The servants had now begun to form a circle around them all.

Alex then proceeds to announce, "Normally I would ask you all to close your eyes for this part, but knowing some of you are more curious than others, I will ask my fellow servants to assist me. We are going back inside."

After finishing the circle, they lift up a large dark curtain and cover them all in darkness. Nobody knew how they covered the top part of the circle but they somehow did as all light that was around them was gone for a moment.

Despite everyone doing their best efforts to observe what was happening, they could not differentiate the moment from when the grass turned into a floor, but there was a strange energy that was felt in the air.

The curtains come down and once more the servants are dressed with roller skates as they scurry around to move the plates and clear the tables.

"Alright everyone, enjoy your conversations for they may be the last time that you may see each other."

With the chance being given to them, they all sat quietly at their table, each of them waiting for another one to speak up first.

Vito was half expecting Cyrus to say something first but he surprisingly said nothing. Not a word. So he decided to speak up first.

"You know, we might all stay in the same city, maybe we could give each other our contacts and then meet up once more once this is over?"

"Get some pizza and drinks, talk some more, play a few games-"

"Vito!" Edith said with her head looking down, "I think it's best if the three of us go our separate ways."

"W-wait, What? What do you mean?" Vito asked.

She crosses her arms and her lips curled up in an unruly manner as she shifts her body position to the side. "It's just that, I think it would be better if we forgot what happened here. Like we never met."

"Maybe we can say that this was all just a dream?"

"Edith you're not making sense! Why would we do that!?" Vito asked. " Just forget and go home? But-but-" Vito was struggling to find the words for it.

"I can see where you are coming from Edith. And I can partly agree with it. With the fact that the world could be ending tomorrow then there may be a chance for us to lose each other so soon after getting close."

"But shouldn't you say it like that instead of beating around the bush, he might misunderstand and think you hate him," Cyrus answered.

Vito was still surprised by what was going on and couldn't say anything.

"How about this," Cyrus proposed. "If you don't want us to get to meet again," he said while pointing towards Edith, "and you don't want us to not see each other," he directed at Vito, "And there is a chance we all stay in the same city, then why not leave it up to chance."

"If chance allows it and the Earth doesn't blow up by then and we meet again, then shouldn't that be an obvious sign for us to stay in touch?"

What Cyrus was proposing was making sense. Despite contradicting what the two wanted in one way or another, it was a good middle ground to avoid any disputes or arguments among them.

But Vito didn't want to leave it up to chance. He didn't want to place his bets on something he could have right now. He wanted to argue on it and convince them otherwise but he couldn't bring up any argument to support his case.

And he hated feeling this way. In the end, he silently sat in his seat, they all did as neither one of them wanted to say anything else.

It felt like this was all they would do when just then a familiar voice intervened!

"Hey guys, how's it going?"

They all looked up to see Sasha smiling right beside their table. The timing of this lady was impeccable to them.

"Well, I'm bummed, I at least expected a warm welcome! Or maybe even a little cake left for me, but you guys ate it all, and couldn't even leave me some."

"I bet it was you wasn't it Edith!?" Sasha proceeded to somewhat aggressively pat Edith's head like petting a puppy.

"Argh! Leave me alone Sasha, I didn't do anything!!!" Edith yelled.

"Don't lie to me young girl, I saw you snatch this poor boy's food. That is very inappropriate of a lady," Sasha lectured.

"Don't tell me what to do, I was very stressed and he made me mad at him, I had to," Edith whined.

Sasha gasped, "You should be ashamed of yourself, a real lady doesn't cause problems for her man, she solves them because she is capable."

Sasha then places her hand on Vito's cheek and smiles at him.

"Do you have any problems you would like to share with me, Vito? I'm sure I could solve all of them with quickness and efficiency." *wink*

Edith then pushes Sasha back a little, "Shouldn't you be getting back to work, maid!?"

*Gasp* "Oh no you did not just go there! Well young, lady! It is a servant of the planet and not a maid, and it is an honor to uphold such a title. Not that I expect an immature girl who steals food from other boys' plates to understand."

Edith stands up from her seat and speaks up, "Immature? Why I'd-"

"Edith, Vito, Cyrus, is everything ok here?" Minty asked as she rushed her way over to their table.

There were multiple stares from everyone around them, all watching the drama unfold.

"Well, I just came to help Sasha collect the plates on this table. I sure hope you're not causing trouble for our dear guests, right sister?" Minty asked.

Sasha picks up Edith's plate and Edith clearly sneers at her like a hissing cat while she does so. She then turns to Minty and says, "Nope, no trouble at all. Only ensuring that our 'beloved' guests are enjoying their stay."

Sasha then proceeds to skate away from our table while doing a few tricks to show off and catch the attention of the many other people there.

*Sigh, "She's not even wearing the right uniform. She's a handful." Minty then collects the remaining dishes and gives her one clear dashing smile before she skates away as well.

'It felt warm. I didn't know a smile could do that.' Vito thought.

Edith crosses her arms and is clearly frustrated. "She's always getting on my nerves, what's with her?"

Cyrus chuckles, "Different people show affection differently. She really cares for you, Edith."

"Affection? You call that showing affection? Well, it's plain meddling," Edith huffs.

Alex after seeing that all the plates have been taken then proceeds to make one last announcement for them all.

"You were all chosen. Though you may not have been the one to go and fight for our planet, that doesn't make you worth any less than the one who did."

"Any of you could have gone, so keep in mind that all of your lives mean something to us. And they mean even more so to the ones waiting for you back home."

"It's time for you to go and see your family again. Go spend time with them, tell them you love them, hug them."

"You may start by going first to your designated rooms."

Shortly after those words were said, the entire room was instantly filled with loud noise as the people began rising from their seats and talking about all the events that transpired.

Vito got up from his seat and stopped up facing the doors, before leaving he turned his head slightly and said, "I hope to see you guys again," and before he could reply, he went his own way.

Into the crowd, he disappeared, half hoping to hear the words, "Vito wait!" But to his disappointment, he heard nothing. "Wishful thinking sucks," he thought.

"I guess he is gone," Cyrus said as he looked towards Edith who was still glued to her chair.

Standing up and preparing to leave he said to her, "There is no harm in getting attached to someone, it could even be the reason to keep you going through certain situations and no, I don't know anything about you yet, I am just speaking from personal experience."

With those words said, Cyrus had left the table.

And there was Edith all alone and thinking to herself if this was what she wanted. All alone with her thoughts, she couldn't even notice a slight pulsation that was happening on her very own shoulder.

"It's better this way, I don't even know them that well and I have my own family issues to get around with. I don't need more people that I can care about, so why do I feel this way?"

Vito placed his hand on his doorknob, getting ready to go in, to put this whole thing past him, just like they wanted. He still felt unsatisfied but already accepted that he wasn't going to force somebody to change their mind.

"Maybe this will all blow over and it will seem like nothing happened?" *Argh* "I need some more sleep, it is too early for this.

Walking through the door, Vito fell into a pit of blackness.

"Wait! What!? I'm falling!?" he asked.

"AHHHHHHHH!

"WHAT IS THIS?? WHERE AM ??????"

Seeing nothing but black with a blue light in the end, Vito's eyesight got blurry and the next thing he knew was that he had landed on something soft.

*THUD*

"Argh, where am I?"

"Hello Vito, do forgive me for my rudeness but I wanted to speak with you personally. Before anyone else," a voice said.

As his vision cleared up, he noticed that he was seated in a car, and in front of him was...

"Alex!?"

"Ah, you can see clearly now. That's good. How was the fall?" Alex smiled.

"Alex!? What was that? Where did I come from, how am I here?" Vito asked.

Alex then began laughing as he was amused.

"What's so funny?" Vito asked.

"Sorry Vito, it's just that, the face you made when you teleported here was so intriguing. It could tell a story of its own. You were definitely quite scared," Alex commented.

"Who wouldn't be when they just feel 30ft down and t-teleported? I teleported here?" Vito asked as his attention was now brought to what Alex had just said.

"Why yes you did, I brought you here using special means. Do not think it's magic, you kids are so quick to assume such things."

"Then what is it? If it's not magic then how did you get me here?" he began moving around just to make sure this was real and not some fantasy or dream.

"Would you believe me if I said, I distorted the space around you to bring you here? Similar to what a wormhole would do." Alex asked.

"Wait, a wormhole? Can our planet even handle that? Is that safe?" Vito worriedly asked.

Alex shrugged and began revving the car for the journey back to Vito's school.

"Well, I have been doing it for a while so I assume it is safe. Besides, it's not something that can easily be done on Earth, I am a little special in that regard. Anyways that is a long story for another occasion."

"Vito Edward Gotti, Are you satisfied with the experience that you had at the hotel?" Alex asked.

Vito couldn't believe the question he was being asked If Alex was as informative as he claimed to be, then there was nothing stopping him from knowing full well how Vito felt from his experience there staying there.

Still more he answered the question regardless.

"There was nothing wrong with the services that were provided by you or the servants of this hotel. It was all satisfactory."

Alex took a glance at him and then looked back to the front of the car.

"Vito you don't have to lie to me, I know you wish things were different don't you?"

Vito then punched his sit, "If you knew then why would you bother asking me something like that?"

Vito was shaking his fist that was marked into the seat right next to him.

"Alex, I'm such a fool. I didn't listen to you when you tried to advise me and now I feel like shit. But was it wrong of me to have wanted something like that so badly that I was willing to kill to obtain it!?"

"You know the way I lived. So answer me, please. Was I really in the wrong?"

Alex doesn't look back and instead keeps driving ahead.

"I would like to apologize to you. As your host, I should have done more to ensure that things like these wouldn't happen. But I was preoccupied. You see there was, another. Another person who thought just like you. Maybe if I kill the representative I can become him."

"You were the second one to try it that night. I had to leave you to your friends to deal with you, while I dealt with him."

'Second one to try it?' Vito wondered, but before he could completely process that he responded, "I don't know if they are still my friends."

"They are. Though you may have split up, deep down they enjoyed the small chats you had. You know without the killing parts."

"You aren't wrong for wanting that Vito. You are completely in the right. But you shouldn't blame your upbringing as the reason why you chose to do what you did. In the end, it was you who pulled the trigger."

Vito thought on those words for a moment as the car kept on driving forward. "Do you think I will ever see them again?"

Alex answered, "Well, I would leave it up to chance if I were you."

'Chance again, of course," Vito thought.

"Alex, can I ask you another question?" he asked.

"You already have," Alex replied.

"What no, not like that!" Vito complained.

"Hahaha, you really do bring a smile to my face. Ask away Vito and I'll be sure to answer as best as I can." Alex spoke.

"Why wasn't I the one chosen?" Vito asked.
