Warning Flashback! Read at Your own Risk

This story happened a few years back…

I think it's around five years or so, I just can't clearly remember the exact length of the years that had passed.

I was taking the stairs back then, up in this particularly tall building.

With heavy footsteps, I ascend.

My heart is filled with unease… that with every step I take up, I release a heavy breath that sounded more like a sigh.

My chest aches that time and I am giving it my all to prevent my eyes from getting foggy. I have many worries in mind, that I can't clearly discern from what is right or wrong.

I can't think straight…

I am troubled… but still, I have a firm resolve.

I sigh yet I continue on my way up.

"Hufft…"

I blow out a puff of air building in my chest.

My goal is to reach the door ahead of me that is waiting on the peak that leads to the highest point of this building.

It is not that long of a stair, but it felt like an eternity just to be able to reach the top of it.
