"Next, we will release some demos of Resident Evil for a limited time. Players can download demo versions without logging with an account or pre-ordering," John solemnly announced at the press conference.
Hearing John's words, the concerned players couldn't help feeling excited and looking forward to it. Compared to the typical promotional trailers and hype, this approach obviously feels sincere. After all, whether the game is enjoyable is only known once you've played it.
Many players interested in Resident Evil were fixated on John on the stage, eager to hear him announce the time for the next Resident Evil demo to go online. But John's next sentence took them by surprise.
"Regarding some of the content in Resident Evil, if you have any questions, feel free to ask," John said with a smile while looking at the media reporters present.
Wasn't it time to play the DEMO? In a normal sequence, shouldn't you just talk about when the demo goes live? Why has it suddenly turned into a Q&A?
Ordinary players were stunned, but the reporters present was thrilled. There weren't many media outlets at the conference, but all the major local and foreign game media were present, and the press Q&A was inevitable. This was also great for promoting the game.
Compared to ordinary players, the reporters were much more focused but not overly excited. After all, this wasn't exactly breaking news. At most, it's repeated reporting. But as soon as the Q&A session began, the media became alert and energized. Isn't this what happens at all major game conferences?
Following the media order, a reporter from the famous domestic gaming outlet, Game Starry Sky, eagerly asked, "Mr. John, can you briefly introduce what kind of game Resident Evil is? It doesn't quite feel like a horror game."
What kind of game is Resident Evil? It turns out most people were still unclear. Only industry professionals could tell from the visuals and the promotional clips that it was clearly a horror game, especially when the official website later listed "Blood" and "Violence" with R-18 elements, marking Resident Evil as a horror game. That seemed to be the final word.
But it doesn't feel like a pure horror game at all. Despite the presence of zombies, monsters, and violent scenes, the dashing Leon, the brave Claire, the super cute little Sherry, and the mysterious woman in a coat give off a different vibe. It feels more like a traditional RPG.
Hearing the reporter's question, John smiled: "If it were just a pure horror game, that wouldn't be entirely accurate. I prefer to think of it as a survival horror game."
"A bit like Outlast?" The reporter quickly followed up.
"No, they are totally different. In Resident Evil, compared to Outlast, the pure fear factor is toned down. But that doesn't mean Resident Evil won't give players a sense of tension and fear. We just want to make sure more ordinary players can enjoy the thrill without being too scared to play. In Outlast, a lot of players said it was too scary," John said with a smile.

Listening to John explain, players watching the live stream quickly got caught up in the discussion.
'That's true, but you're also crude for saying that.'
'Outlast is scary? I heard about it but never played.'
'It's not scary at all. John is lying to you.'
'Yeah, it's not scary. The patients at Mount Massive Asylum are quite friendly. The fat guy gives you neck massages, and the doctor offers you manicures. Everyone's very hospitable.'

Some players who knew PixelPioneers Studio and John from their work on UEGame heard that John had previously developed a horror game called Outlast. It seemed many players were too frightened to finish it, so they immediately grew curious and started looking it up online.
Compared to ordinary players, the media present was a bit surprised. Making horror games less scary because players are too frightened? Doesn't that sound strange? Shouldn't a horror game be designed to scare players? If you don't want them to be too scared, why make horror games at all?
Not only the gaming media but also some game developers watching the event had puzzled expressions. This feels like a bowl of beef noodles, except there's no beef in the bowl.
The following questions mostly focused on game details and systems, like whether it's a shooter.
John didn't delve too deeply into these, after all, this was just a preview. They had to leave some excitement for later, otherwise, how would they get players to open their wallets and buy?
However, media reporters and players still picked up on some key details. For example, in the game, players don't have to just run away from monsters like in Outlast, they can fight back. In Resident Evil, players have the means to resist using guns and other weapons.
The game also features very detailed and immersive environments. Additionally, the game introduces dynamic difficulty, ensuring players can enjoy the fun of horror without feeling overwhelmed. This information only made players more intrigued by Resident Evil.
"Finally, I believe this is the issue everyone is most curious about, the release date. It's currently set for February 1, five days after the Festival. The game will have 2 different voice acting, with subtitles available in multiple languages, and will be priced at 35 Dollars."
At the end of the press conference, John revealed this crucial bit of information. After he finished, players watching the live stream began discussing it passionately. As the press conference wrapped up, those who had learned the release date of Resident Evil felt a brief moment of excitement.
Wait a minute-! They realized something was missing. Wasn't there supposed to be a demo? Why didn't he announce when the demo would be released!?
The players suddenly froze as they remembered.
