Already prepared in advance, after Christy raised this question, John smiled: "Yes, 'Resident Evil' is a game we are developing. For this, we have invested more than 80 million dollars, definitely a big production."

This is not bragging; even if it does not include the publicity expenses of this period, the development cost of 'Resident Evil' has reached 80 million dollars.

Listening to John's words, Bruno was surprised, and the players in the live stream could not help but be startled, as well as the industry practitioners who were watching the stream.

80 million dollars in development costs? This is heading towards the AAA level.

Everyone was surprised. This development cost is said to be high, but not so high and it can never be said to be low. For comparison, it is one of the highest development costs. If it is Gemtechs, Moondustries, and Essence, the three major development investments, then no one would be surprised. Even if the game is developed by some second-tier game studios, it's typically around this number, and everyone wouldn't be too shocked.

But this is the fourth game of PixelPioneers Studio. What type of games did they develop before?

'Binding of Isaac' is a purely independent game with a simple design. It doesn't rely on the plot or picture quality but wins with its creative gameplay.

'Octopath Traveler' had a quite high 10 million-dollar development cost, but its pixel style, coupled with the traditional JRPG mode, didn't make it a big production.

'Outlast' did generate some unexpected fame, but being a linear horror game, its sales weren't as great as anticipated, and the development cost wasn't too high, so it's still considered a small game.

So how did this fourth game suddenly raise several grades? It's like skipping from primary school to college without finishing high school. So it was not unfounded that everyone was dumbfounded.

In the office of PixelPioneers, Armani was watching the livestream,

"Hiyaa-!" Watching John in the interview, he clutched his face in frustration and sighed with discomfort.

"Mr. Baker, did he say something wrong in the interview?" Luna, holding the dog, squinted with a smile and couldn't help but feel curious when she heard Baker sigh.

Koch and Evelien, who were also watching the interview, looked over as well.

"The problem is big, as others don't know how much money we have spent. Why did President John so honestly say the development cost is 80 million dollars? He should've just said it cost 100 million; that would be much better for the promotion," Baker said sadly, "Why so honest? He is too inexperienced. When development costs 80 million, and reporting 100 million is a normal method, why did he have to mention the real number?"

Too honest.

While Baker was lamenting, John had already released the promo trailer for 'Resident Evil through the Game Star stream.

Looking at the trailer, the players watching the stream were hyped up. It started dark, and after a few seconds, a narration began.

'This is not the first day I imagined…' The camera switched to a man in a police uniform, holding a gun, walking slowly towards the closed police station door. A night with light rain falling. Then the perspective shifted to a car driving in the rain...

An injured policeman, gripping a pistol in a convenience store...

An abandoned highway...

And a ruined town with unknown monsters lurking.

'Due to the citywide outbreak, I suggest you seek refuge at the Raccoon City Police Station, as food and medical supplies will be provided to everyone in need...'

The video continued as the scene shifted to a chaotic city street, destroyed street lights, explosions, burning cars, and eerie background music, The image faded as the camera panned to a convenience store. A man, flashlight in hand, looked at bloodstains on the floor.

'Something's not right.'

Zooming out, the man previously seen approaching the police station entered the store's corridor. Suddenly, the music intensified, and a police officer appeared on screen.

'Fall back, sir, I got this person…'

Before finishing, the music stopped abruptly, like a car braking sharply. The policeman was tackled by the person he was holding, who then viciously bit his neck. The screen turned blood-red, as though smeared with blood. The attacker's pale eyes, bloodstained teeth, and the flesh in his mouth stared straight at the camera.

'What the hell?' Finally, the man's face was revealed to the camera, with a caption introducing him as "Leon."

Wearing a police uniform, Leon shot the zombie lunging at him right in the head.

The camera shifted again. A woman in a red jacket opened the door of the convenience store. The caption beside her read "Claire." Behind her, a zombie staggered toward her.

'Duck!' Leon, with his pistol, yelled at Claire.

She ducked instantly as gunfire erupted and the zombie behind her was shot in the head.

'Go!'

Driving cars, desolate cities, and countless zombies filled the scene.

The lens changed once more. A police station, littered with blood and the dead, swarmed with zombies, surviving sheriffs and officers appeared.

'I'm giving you orders, rookie!'

'Please save me!'

A terrifying, unknown monster like a hound prowled the screen.

'Leave here, before it's too late…' A mysterious woman in a trench coat and sunglasses emerged from the shadows, moments after Leon shot a zombie dog in the head.

Then, there was no more narration, just rapid scene changes. A dark basement, a monster covered in eyes, a hat-wearing monster, and a girl's body lying on stage. Finally, it returned to darkness as a subdued narration echoed.

'What in God's name?'

A burst of rapid music played, the screen abruptly cut to black, and blood-red letters appeared in the center, "Resident Evil." ]
