The Trap

Activity buzzed within the outer city of Lobmacht as Lucian struck the newly-erected ward surrounding them like a cage, revealing it's shimmering, translucent appearance for a moment.

Theo began working with Takis and the generals to organize troops ready for anything while Lucian's mind worked as swiftly as possible. He tried probing for the makeup of the ward but found it even more complicated than the one he'd damaged to enter the city.

Worse, after just a moment, he felt the clothes he wore pressing down against the top of his shoulders unnaturally as a very slight pressure began to build.

He continued trying to puzzle out something about the ward but he could understand very little about it, and the pressure was still building. With a click of his tongue, Lucian turned from where he stood atop the city wall and with a short run, jumped from the edge.
