87 86. Does he like you?

The three girls turned around to see grandfather Zhang standing at the door with an angry expression. He entered the room stomping angrily towards the girls sitting on the bed. Amy and Lan Xie cowered under his burning gaze whereas RuQian met his eyes head on unfazed. Amy was usually a very soft person so she couldn't deal with extreme situations whereas Lan Xie was a fighter when it came to outsiders but if it was against the people she loved she couldn't stand up for herself.

That was her biggest flaw. RuQian on the other hand was a calm and rational person who knew when to fight and when to back off slightly. That was what made her a good leader as her grandmother wanted her to be. It took her years to perfect that nature but that was one of her best qualities.

"Who was it that drugged you? And how did it happen right under my nose?" Amy and Lan Xie winced slightly at the loud voice.

"I don't really know grandfather and I don't think I have the energy to care right now." RuQian lightly answered. Her grandfather's shoulders slumped suddenly. He came closer to her side of the bed.

"How are you feeling now? Do you feel pain anywhere?"

"Slightly disoriented but I'm alright."

"Are you sure? Let me call the doctor."

"There's really no need grandfather, I am feeling fine."

"What do you mean fine?!" RuQian winced slightly at the loud screech. "He is here anyway, let him check you out for my peace of mind at least?" Grandfather Zhang made an innocent face at RuQian who was trying her best to not laugh staring at how grandfather Zhang was widening his eyes trying to appear like an innocent child.

"Okay. Wait! What do you mean he is here anyway?"

The other three quietly stared at RuQian not saying a word. RuQian confused at their reaction, narrowed her eyes and stared down at the weakest person in the room trying to get her to confess.

"Ok, okay we just didn't know what happened to you so grandfather Zhang was about to call a doctor to help you but Yang ge came to the house himself and said that Chen ge had sent him. He checked you out, took your blood sample and stayed here for the night. He said he will wait here until you wake up and only after making sure that you were fine would he leave."

Amy pulled at Lan Xie's hand trying to stop her from spurting everything else but Lan Xie was too invested in finally having her Qian Qian to talk that she was not taking the hint.

"I heard him talking on the phone, he even had a few surgeries which he was rescheduling just so he could stay here. I mean he is the best surgeon in the world, I don't understand why he would stay here when he doesn't know you very well. It clearly looks like he is doing this only for Chen ge but I don't understand why Chen ge would help you so much when you have never even met him. Have you met him Qian Qian? Tell me! Are you hiding something from me?"

Lan Xie stared at RuQian like an entertainment reporter waiting for a huge scandal near an artists house with huge eyes. Grandpa Zhang was also staring at RuQian like he'd seen a golden goose.

"Xiao Xie, Amy why don't you both go out for a while. Let me talk to Xiao Qian." Grandpa Zhang said in a grave voice.

"But I too want to know what happened to Qian Qian.." Lan Xie pouted. Amy dragged Lan Xie off the bed and out of the room. "Have some rest Qian Qian. You come with me. She will tell us when she is ready why are you forcing her when she just woke up?" They closed the door after them.

"How did I get to you grandfather?" RuQian asked seriously. Grandpa Zhang sighed loudly and sat down beside RuQian.

"I had never thought that Mu Chen would actually accept my invitation and come to your birthday party. Even though he has not made a public appearance, we had met for a few minutes before the cake cutting. I thought Mu Chen would've left after that. I wanted to introduce you to him which I thought Mu Chen would not allow.

Mu Chen is someone who has never showed his face in the public. Many people, even from the business world do not really know how Mu Chen looks. I only know his real face because I have seen him from a young age and I would like to believe that he trusts me, even if it's just a little. At every gathering he would wear a silver mask and no one ever got to see his face. There was also a rumour that if someone saw his face without his permission they would be killed, of course in my opinion that is just a rumour."

RuQian pressed her lips tightly. She knew very well it was no rumour. She got to see his face in her past life which was a mistake on her part. His security team had captured her with the intention of killing her but Mu Chen stopped them and told them to let her go and he had warned her not to talk about seeing him and just forgetting that that night had ever happened.

Now that RuQian thought about it, if she were to have spoken outside of having seen Mu Chen's real face not only she herself but even Mu Chen would have been in danger. But he had still taken the risk and let her go. She had not known that it was him being generous then but she knew now. She knew his other identity and knew how big of a risk he was taking by letting her go, but she still died in the end.

"I was taken aback when Mu Chen readily agreed to meet you." RuQian came out of her musing when Grandpa Zhang continued. "Before I got to introduce you to him you had disappeared somewhere and a while later I got a call from Mu Chen asking me to meet him in the parking space and when I arrived I saw you unconscious in Mu Chen's car."

"Mu Chen explained how he found you in a drugged state trying to get away from that Chang boy from your school. He said he took care of that Chang fellow and then sent you to me. And looks like Mu Chen also sent his personal doctor to help out with your situation. Qian Qian looks like Mu Chen likes you. How did you meet him?"

RuQian took a deep breath taking in all the information. It looked like grandpa Zhang didn't know anything. It's not like Mu Chen could tell him everything. "I don't really remember grandfather. I remember getting away from Chang Min but the rest is all blurry."

"Ahh.. Okay don't try to remember anything. It can hurt. Let me go call the doctor." Grandpa Zhang left to call the doctor. 'It looks like Mu Chen might have some feelings for Xiao Qian or else why would he take so much trouble to help her and even send a doctor. And he also knows Master Liu Ren who came to teach RuQian without any prompting. Looks like I need to see how Mu Chen turns out.'

RuQian got up and headed to the bathroom. She thought about everything that had happened and tried sorting out all the information. She didn't really have to act as if she did not remember anything, 'I haven't told him everything I know and neither have I revealed any of my plans. And for the way I acted, let him just think it was because of the drug. It's not like I will meet him anytime soon. So the only two things to be taken care of... I can talk to his friend about them.'

She stood in front of the mirror thinking of this when she saw her reflection in the mirror. Her gaze fell on the new addition on her body. She hadn't been able to see the beauty of it due to her hazy state but the pendant looked so beautiful. It was just how she liked it, simple and beautiful and it was also her favourite colour.

'Mu Chen really has a good taste. Did he know I like this colour? It looks like I owe you for the help last night and also a gift.' RuQian sighed to herself and left the bathroom when she heard voices coming from outside.
