81. Broken Chicken Legs

Lu Xu Mei went as pale as a white sheet. She suddenly ran towards RuQian. "Elder sister I am sorry. It was a mistake, I just got jealous." She tried hugging her and clinging to her. Lan Xie called the guards to get her off of RuQian. Lan Xie offered RuQian a drink. Amidst this chaos, nobody saw the hidden smirk on Lu Xu Mei's face. Chang Min was infuriated. If his father found out what he did, he would definitely be punished.

A shrill scream interrupted Lu Xu Mei's cries. Wan Wan rushed up to Lu Xu Mei and grabbed her hair tightly, "You bitch!" Lan Xie signalled the guards to stop anyone else from interfering with the show. "I thought you were my friend. You conniving, deceiving slut. How dare you do this to me? I've loved Chang Min for so long but you were the slut that was sleeping with him. You backstabbing whore." Wan Wan pulled Lu Xu Mei's hair aggressively.

At first Lu Xu Mei tried to act pitifully hoping someone would come help her but when no one stepped up to help her out, she reached out and pulled Wan Wan's hair. The ballroom was filled with Wan Wan's shrieks and Lu Xu Mei's sobs.

RuQian finished her drink amidst this chaos. Wan Wan and Lu Xu Mei let go of each other's hair at the same time. Wan Wan glanced at the paused screen where the two rats were kissing and pounced on Lu Xu Mei again, aiming for her face with her huge nails. She started scratching Lu Xu Mei fiercely until her cheeks started bleeding. Lu Xu Mei's loud wails filled the hall, she tried to scratch Wan Wan but couldn't get a hold of her.

RuQian's head started pounding and she could not take the screeches anymore. She silently slipped out of the ballroom when everybody was focused on the fighting girls. One person followed after her quietly.

When she came into the silence of the hallway RuQian felt slightly better but her head started spinning. She was feeling weird. She felt someone behind her, so she turned around to see the rat walking angrily towards her.

Chang Min chuckled lowly, "Why? Feeling dizzy? I must say Xu Mei plans well. I thought you knew everything because you were able to change the video. You didn't know there was something in your drink?"

RuQian's eyes widened, 'When did she put something in my drink?' Her eyes contracted when she recollected how Lu Xu Mei clung to her. 'It was only a few seconds. Shit.' RuQian closed her eyes, 'I should've paid attention.' When she opened her eyes Chang Min was standing closer to her.

"Hmm, you smell good. I'll have a good time with you." He held her arm trying to pull her in the direction of the stairs.

RuQian stomped her heel on his foot, lifted her knee and felt it connect with his chin. He staggered back groaning in pain. She roundhouse kicked him hard making him fall on the ground. Then she held his left leg, stood on his thigh and twisted his leg to the left. Hearing the crack from his leg and his painful shout she let it go. Then she grabbed his right leg and repeated the same thing.

She was feeling dizzy after all this but didn't show her weakness in front of the rat, "I told you not to touch me, didn't I? Now be a good boy and wait here. Well it's not like you can run anywhere with your broken chicken legs."

After warning the rat bastard, she disappeared into the dark hallways. RuQian entered an almost dark corridor. Her heels clicked loudly in the silence of the night.

She worried herself thinking if it was the date-rape drug, which rendered the user helpless to fight back. But she felt fine, she was able to move around, even her temperature felt normal, she didn't feel hot nor did she want to have sex.

So she realized this was only a drug to make her unconscious and maybe then offer her up to someone. That's why Chang Min followed her. He was trying to take her somewhere. Her brain was working well but it was working in slow motion.

She had to get to a safe place, Lan Xie, Amy or her grandfather were her best bet. She had to reach them. But she couldn't see where she was going properly. She only knew she was in the hallway, but all the hallways looked similar. She had no idea where she was. RuQian staggered on in the dimly lit corridor, lighted by the moon through the huge glass windows and the false balconies along the length of the corridor.

The more steps she took, the more groggy she became, her legs were turning to jelly, her eyes started hazing over, making it difficult for her to see what was ahead of her. She stumbled slightly, almost falling hard on her face but righted herself just before she almost hit the ground by holding onto the window sill. She pulled herself up with all the strength left in her. It was really hard to do that when one's legs felt like jelly.

She was sure she would fall over any moment. But she couldn't give up, if she fell unconscious here and if Chang Min called someone, she would become a piece of meat for those dogs, she had to find someone whom she could trust.

The problem with that was she couldn't see anyone around, the whole corridor looked empty. She wasn't able to see clearly as it was, the huge open windows and the white curtains which danced to the wind were not helping her with her glazed eyesight.

RuQian dragged her weak body ahead in the hope of finding someone, she started praying to the skies to send her an angel, anyone who would help her and not take advantage of her vulnerable state. She knew very well that the chances of her escaping this situation unscathed were pretty slim. But she had to try her best at the very least.

RuQian staggered around and was about fall over again. She groaned and with great difficulty took off her heels and threw them in the corridor. She started walking again quietly without making any sound this time.
