58. The Dress

The trio waited for a while before the sales assistant came back, "Miss please follow me, this way." She led them into the next room, which was covered in gold panels and the marble also reflected the golden light cast by the small chandelier in the room.

Both sides of the room consisted of various types of jewelry displayed in glass cases. All sorts of jewelry was available in this store.

Amy stood in awe glancing at the whole room and only moved when Lan Xie nudged her.

The woman took them to a locked door past the jewelry room, she unlocked the door and ushered them in.

The next room was painted in a dark violet shade, there were dresses here too but only about twenty five.

Each dress was stunning on it's own. Some dresses even had diamonds and rhinestones in them.

The dresses were beautiful beyond words. RuQian was the only one who had on a straight face, the rest, even the woman who worked there were in awe.

She entered this room very few times and when she did, she could not stop herself from admiring these clothes.

RuQian turned around looking at each dress carefully, imagining herself in each one, to see which one was the most appropriate.

"Qian Qian, you can just wear any dress from here and you will look awesome." Amy finally found her words.

"No Amy, we have to think of which dress would suit Qian Qian the best. Each person has a different style and personality, and moreover Qian Qian would be introduced for the first time in the party, so she has to make a good impression on everyone, so even the color of her clothes would take on a high priority." Lan Xie explained to Amy.

"Oh, I did not think that far." Amy gave a shy smile.

RuQian turned to the girls behind her, "Okay, now will you both please help me look for a dress?"

Lan Xie nodded her head rapidly with enthusiasm and went around the room to check out the clothes.

Each of the dresses hung were brilliant and with the chandelier shining on the stones and diamonds, all the dresses looked fabulous.

RuQian looked around slowly checking each dress but did not feel like any of them were good enough.

The trouble with her choosing a dress for herself was, she had to look mature but also hold onto the air of innocence according to her age. This made choosing a dress tricky.

Some of the dresses displayed had a long slit up to the thigh, which would not appeal to her sixteen year age.

So those dresses were out of question, some clothes coloured black or white would not go well with her first introduction, it had to be an auspicious color.

As she was looking at another dress, Lan Xie called her from opposite the room. RuQian went to her friend, to see her excited face.

"Qian Qian don't you think this looks good?"

"Hmm. It's okay but not the best one. Lan Xie let's look around more. We can leave this as a second option." The assistant was truly awed when she saw them. She had seen a few rich people go crazy over these dresses but these girls did not even bat an eye while choosing clothes. 'They must have seen even better clothes for them to be this composed.'

The red colored dress was beautiful but RuQian felt like there was something missing.

As she was glancing around the room, RuQian's eyes fell on a dress which was at the back of another dress.

She went to take a look at what it was. The moment she took in the whole dress, she felt this was the right one.

"Can I try this?" She asked the sales assistant.

The sales assistant came up to her and glanced at the dress, "I am sorry miss, this dress is not finished yet. The designer still wants to add some finishing touches to it."

"Oh, can she finish it quickly? Then we can take this dress." Lan Xie came up and said to the assistant.

"I don't think that is possible. I am sorry."

RuQian thought over what the sales assistant said. "Why don't you ask your boss and then tell me? I like this dress very much and I wouldn't mind waiting. I still have three weeks to spare. Why don't you go and ask first?"

The sales assistant hesitated for a while, then ushered them out of the room and went to ask her boss. There was security watching them anyways, so she left them.

She normally would not have asked her boss but when she had called her boss earlier to say that the girls wished to see the private collection, her boss had told her to do anything the customers asked and that they were very important VIP guests.

Since this was how her boss had put it, she was going to make sure everything went right.

The sales assistant came back after a while to tell the girls that her boss would finish the piece and send it over in a week, she told them to leave an address and any instructions if they had any particulars for the dress in mind.

They could pay for it now itself or they could pay afterwards.

RuQian nodded towards the assistant and went to the jewelry displayed. "We will need jewelry and shoes too, we were going to see somewhere else when we were at the mall anyways, we can buy them here now."

Lan Xie shrieked loudly, "Yes!" She pumped her fist in the air.

They looked around for jewelry that would go along with their clothes, then finally moved on to select shoes.

After choosing everything RuQian told them to go wait in the car. Lan Xie scrunched her eyebrows wondering why RuQian wanted them to leave.

RuQian silently glanced at Amy who was not paying attention and then back at Lan Xie. Understanding what RuQian meant Lan Xie pulled Amy out of the store.

If Amy found out how costly it was here, she would most likely not want to take the dress, jewelry or the shoes, so they had to make sure, she did not find out the amount being paid.

RuQian then smiled at the sales assistant, then payed for everything they bought and also paid for her dress which would arrive later.

"Miss, please write down your address here, the dress will be delivered to you in a week." The sales assistant smiled happily at having made such a huge sale today.

RuQian hesitated for a while and then wrote down Lan Xie's address and her phone number. She left a few instructions at how she wanted the finished dress to look and passed the note to the assistant.

She smiled back at the sales assistant who then called over some store boys to carry the purchased items to her car.

After loading everything into the trunk, they left the store.

"Lan Xie, I gave your address for the delivery of the dress and also your phone number, so can you receive it on my behalf?"

"Huh? Qian Qian you could've given your address right? Why did you give them my address?"

"Nothing, just didn't want them knowing I am Zhang Wennai's granddaughter."

"Oh you're right. Good call."

RuQian sighed in relief that Lan Xie had not asked any more questions. She could not let that person know that she had been to that store!
