26. Two Sao's

RuQian, Lan Xie and Dan decided to meet directly at the mall that day so RuQian entered the largest mall in imperial city, The Golden Square Mall. RuQian was just entering the mall when she bumped into a figure. A guy wearing black rimmed glasses with dishevelled black hair and sweats ran into her. He looked like he was in a hurry so he quickly apologized and ran away.

"Sweats! Who wears sweats in a mall?" Lan Xie's voice came from behind her. Seemed like she had seen the earlier.... accident?

She turned around to see Lan Xie and Dan staring in the direction the sweats guy just ran.

"Okay, we do not have a lot of time. We need to pick out outfits, let's go."

"Qian Qian, what do you need these clothes for? You have to tell us on which occasion you want to wear them."

"Oh....I forgot. I am going to have my pictures taken for my portfolio." Lan Xie and Dan turned their heads so fast RuQian thought they would get a whiplash. Lan Xie suddenly screamed loudly.

"Yaaaaayyyyyy. Qian Qian you are going to become a world star. I can promise you that." RuQian chuckled.

"Yes, RuQian you will become a top model." Dan also excitedly said. While they were talking, they entered a store called SaoLin Designs. This store had gained a lot of popularity in the past three years. RuQian loved the business ideas and approach and she could tell the businessman was very talented. A guy named John was the manager as she remembered from her past life. The products themselves weren't too beautiful but the business ideas were the ones that sold to the customers. If the products were as good RuQian was sure this store would not have a lot of competition.

All three of them started scouring the store. RuQian wanted a light coloured dress, simple and not a showy one. RuQian saw a cream coloured dress which came up to her ankles. Just as she was about to grab the dress another hand snatched it away.

RuQian turned around to see Wan Wan standing there holding the dress.

"Hmph...You think you can even afford this?" Wan Wan smirked and left. Lan Xie was about to retort when RuQian stopped her.

"Don't! I need a nice dress and that was far from it. Let's go to another store."

Just as they were about to leave, RuQian heard something. Seeing as Dan and Lan Xie were already entering another store, RuQian turned around to see what was going on. The voices of two men were coming from the storage room. As she neared the room she could make out what they were yelling about.

"I am the one who has been managing this company. I have been the one who has brought up this company to where it is now. Just because I wanted you to be the face of the company you think you can become the one who did all the work? I will expose you."

"Hahaha..... yo....you? You will expose me? How? What proof do you have? No one in the company except me knows about you. Who will help you? Hahaha.....You can never prove anything. Why don't you beg me? Maybe I can give you a cleaner post in the company. Beg me!"

"Go to hell!" RuQian turned around as if she was looking at the clothes, she saw the same guy who bumped into her when she entered the mall, angrily step out of the storage room and leave the store. Then she saw a man wearing a suit exit the room calmly wearing a smirk on his face. She recognised him as John, the company manager. 'Oh so you were not the brains of this company?' RuQian smirked as she formulated a plan. She left the store urgently and found the guy wearing glasses sitting on a bench near the store.

She went up to him and asked him just one question, "What is your name?"

The guy looked up at her and he was dazed for a moment. He had bumped into this woman when he entered but he was in too much of a hurry so he did not notice how beautiful she was. She was much more beautiful than an actress. He was so busy staring at her that he forgot to answer her, "Huh?"

"I asked what your name was." RuQian patiently replied.

"O....Oh...Umm....Sa...Sao. Wen Sao." RuQian remembered John's chinese name was Sao Ren Chu. No wonder this guy was so easily pushed out of his own company. SaoLin Designs. Sao must have been his name but it was also John's surname, so people would definitely believe him and not Wen Sao. Lin was the designer's name as far as she remembered.

Looks like Wen Sao really had no proof. He made good business decisions but he did not protect himself first. She did not know if this guy would be as useful as she thought he would be. But she still had to try. She would have to let him grow up first. She handed him her phone. "Key in your number. I will call you in a few years."

"Huh? Few years?"

"What? You think you are old enough to manage my company? Grow up first. Then I will test your character."

Wen Sao did not understand what the pretty woman was saying but he gave her his number anyways. Even after RuQian left Wen Sao sat there in a daze, that was when he understood what she had said, 'You think you are old enough to manage my company? Grow up first. Then I will test your character.' Does she really have a company? What did she mean by grow up? And she will test my character? Like whether I am a good person or not?

He did not understand what the pretty woman meant but unknowingly he started waiting for her call from that day forward.

RuQian bought three dresses, shoes and accessories for the shoot with the help of Lan Xie and Dan. She couldn't wait for the shoot. This was finally her time to shine...
