Party Planning

"I think we've only seen you dance a total of 6 times since your 14th birthday. What's up with that?"

"I want to be decent at something before getting caught doing it."

"What we seen you do was already more than just decent."

"Your mom is right Jordan. You were born to dance."

"Are we going to brainstorm now or wait for Natasha to come home first?"

"We can start now."

"Okay, Natasha said Lydia wants to get into fashion design so Natasha is getting her a sewing machine and thread. I'm getting her fabric and beads."

"Your mom and I will give her zippers and buttons. Ribbons and lace fabrics then."

"But what about the actual party?" Mom interrupts the brainstorming of presents.

"Well we could have an outdoor party. Have music playing off the speakers and have a dance floor. Use the upper deck of the porch as a stage. We can bring the table outside and put snacks there. We can also play games."

"That sounds like so much fun, I'm sure she would like that."

"Natasha and I will take care of the party things. You and dad need to take care of the food and drinks though. Deal?"

"Sounds good to me." Dad said still sitting in the living room.

"This is going to be so much fun. I haven't cooked for Lydia's friends before. She doesn't usually bring them over."

"Hosting a party is not our usual go to."

"I don't remember us ever having parties before. Most of the time it's just a fancy dinner with the 5 of us. But mom cooks it not us ordering out it anything."

"That's true. I don't think you or Tasha ever got a birthday party."

"I've had one birthday party. Colby set it up for me. It was Brady, Colby and one of Colby's friends who's name I can't remember."

"I don't think you told us about that."

"Must not of because that was right before Colby took off."

"Who are all we inviting?" Mom tried to get off the topic of Colby leaving.

"Jaida, Brenna, Ashleigh, Emma are her closest friends. We could always invite Brady because Lydia loves hanging out with us."

"So 5 people?"

"5 sounds good to me."

"I agree with dad. 5 is good for being our first party."
