Chapter2

#Chapter2

He opened his eyes and pulled out a drawer, in it he brought out a picture. In that picture was a beautiful teenage girl, her eyes were shinning with love for the man in the photo who she had her arms round his neck. The man was laughing happily in the picture, he has never felt as happy as he was in that picture. It was one of the pictures they had taken on their short trip to Chicago, the picture was taken in the room of his private jet and he was shirtless in the picture.

His gaze stayed at the beautiful face of the girl, he had missed her, every night he wishes thing was different and hopes to see her again. But he has been searching, he has been waiting but there was no sign of her. He had even looked for her in her hometown, Ohio but she wasn’t there and he had no idea where else to look for her. /"Where are you flower? Come back to me my pet,/" he whispered, his thump caressing her smiling lips on the picture, /"come back, please./"

A week later, Shane hurried to the conference room of the Lockwood’s Enterprises, he pushed open the double doors, /"sorry I’m late,/" he said to everyone and went to his seat, he sat down and looked at every faces there, /"where is our guest?/"

/"She is not here,/" his mother replied.

/"Wow, and I thought I was the one delaying the meeting./"

/"This is very irrational, she fixed the time, why is she not here?/" Mr. Johnson, one of the shareholders said with a frown.

/"It is indeed outrageous,/" Mr. Davis, another shareholder proclaimed.

/"Gentlemen please calm down, I am sure something must be delaying her,/" Margaret tried to calm them.

/"Robert is not like this, he has always been a man of punctuality,/" another one said vexed.

/"Indeed, even if though he doesn’t socialize a lot, he has never kept someone waiting,/" another seconded.

/"Please, let’s give her a few more minutes, I’m sure she would be here,/" Margaret tried again with a smile while Shane just sighed and rest on his seat.

Ten minutes later, the door opened and a tall man dressed in all black and glasses stepped in, followed by him was a man in business suit, his hair was styled all back and he smiled to everyone in the room, /"sorry about the delay, my madam is here,/" he said and the older men grumbled.

Shane was fascinated by the two men and his eyes stayed on them, guess Mrs. Williams doesn’t joke with her safety, he concluded.

His thought was interrupted when a woman stepped in, she was dressed in black gown, the gown stopped on her kneel level and it was clasped onto her body like a leech, exposing all her enticing curves. Her deep brown hair was up in a ponytail, the neckline of her gown was a V shaped and it gave a little view of her cleavage but it still made her mouth watering. She took of her black sunshade and smiled to everyone in the room, /"I am sorry for being late, I was held up,/" she apologized, her eyes traveling everywhere in the room until it rested on him.

His breath cut when he saw the all too familiar transparent brown eyes, the eyes he had often dreamt about, the eyes he had looked into so many times and proclaimed his love. The eyes that always finds it hard to hold his gaze, the eyes that had looked back at him with love and happiness. Those eyes, he will know anywhere he saw them. He sat up on his seat, his gaze never leaving hers as she took a seat opposite him, their eyes met once more but she looked away as fast as they had met.

/"Lillian?/" He heard his mother voice out the name that has been thumping his heart.

/"It should be Mrs. Williams to you Mrs. Lockwood but if you want us to go over to first name basis then I will happily oblige Margaret,/" she replied with a sharp tongue that Margaret had to do a double take in her mind to be sure it was who she thought it was. /"Alright gentlemen and lady, I believe I was called her for a reason?/"

/"Yes, indeed. I also believe you already know the reason we called you here Mrs. Williams so we will go straight to the point,/" Mr. Davis began, /"there is a rumor you are planning to sell your husband shares to the Gray’s, we would like to know if we have done something wrong, otherwise, why would you want to sell your shares and also to our enemy?/"

A soft smile graced her rose like lips, /"actually, I believe I have every right to sell my shares whenever I want to and to whoever I want to./"

/"Indeed, no one is saying you can’t,/" Mr. Johnson replied.

/"Then why am I called for a meeting because I want to sell my shares?/"

/"Listen Mrs. Williams, we just think maybe you shouldn’t sell the shares or even if you want to, you can at least sell it someone who will love working with us and not against us. Your late husband has been with us for the past forty years and he had never complained or wanting to sell the shares./"

/"Well, the shares are mine now and for some reason I don’t want to be connected to this company. No offence,/" she smiled to Margaret.

/"None taken,/" Margaret replied with a stiff voice.

/"Then if it is so, do you mind selling the shares to us?/" Mr. Wilson said with a raised eyebrow.

Lillian smiled, /"actually, no./"

/"What nonsense! What the hell do you think you are doing Lillian?/" Margaret sat up on her chair, she refrained from slamming her hand on the desk with great difficulty.

/"What does it look like Margaret?/" She raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing on her lips.

/"I see. You have grown wings,/" Margaret pointed out, her face covered in anger.

Lillian let out a slow rich laugh, /"no no, you are mistaken, I have gotten rich./"

Margaret laughed and looked at her son who was looking at the beautiful lady in black before him in shock, she wanted to make a comment but because of the shareholders, she held her tongue. /"Fine, we don’t want you to sell the shares, at least to the Gray’s./"

/"And what is going to stop me from doing just that?/"

/"Think about it this way, think about how it will affect the one person who believed and stood by you during the time you had nothing. Think about the person who did everything just to make you happy, think about how hard it will be for the person when you sell the shares. Just think about it./"
