That young man has forgotten me so easily. “Sam!!” I called in the highest and most serious voice I have and there he comes. “Yes? Is there anything you need me to do for you?” he answered immediately he ran into the kitchen. I flipped my hair, lifted a chin, braced my shoulders and supported my hip with my left hand before replying stubbornly. “Oh yes! There are a lot of things you will have to do for me, after all, this is your house….I mean….you don’t expect me to stress myself cooking for your son’s birthday while you just chill outside” “I don’t understand, I am busy attending to the guests and….” “Are you going to do my bid or should I get out of your house?!” I cut him off and he mopped at me. “Okay, what…do you want me to do?” he asked calmly. “Good, that’s more like it. Just stay right here and give me anything I ask you to” I bossed.

Chapter 20

SAM'S POV

I woke up weak and my whole body ached, I will probably get a sore throat soon because it hurts and my head bangs.

The lights are on so I forced myself out of the bed and wobbled outside, there seems to be no other person present except me.

"Eva?" I called and the waves brought my voice back to me, I was greeted by dead silent.

"What's happening?" I mumbled and went into the kitchen, I sighed vehemently when I didn't hear anything.

I came back into the parlor and checked the time, OMG, it's midnight and what did I even do all day?

I knew there's no point calling out to anyone because I am alone in this big house, I might as well boil water for bathe and know if I will get an improvement in terms of my weak and aching body.

The last thing I remember is going to a bar with Deborah and she told me the best way to forget my sorrow is taking a sip of alcohol.
