(I don't if the master bolt and the helm of darkness is with Ares or Luke right now, I don't remember the detail much but I'll consider it with Luke for plot convenience)

Chapter 14

Now this is escalating into unprecedented degree. So my paranoid uncle thinks his symbol of power is with me while my bastard of a father thinks it's with Percy.

Personally I would not bother to even involve myself in this problem but it seems that I had no choice but to be. Because either an apocalyptic war will happen between the two divine power house

or my fishy uncle would smite me.

Which in my opinion is both bad. So now we had to go on a quest to find and retrieve the stolen symbol of power.

Chiron was now guiding us to the attic, where a mummified old prophet Oracle or something was supposed to be there to give us a quest.

"Would you accompany me up?" Percy asked.

"Well yeah, both our lives are on the table on this one so I'll obviously go hear out the old fogey," I said to him to which he nodded.

Then with me in tow, both of us climbed up the attic. pulled the cord. The door swung down, and a wooden ladder clattered into place.

The warm air from above smelled like mildew and rotten wood and something else ... a smell I remembered from biology class. Reptiles. The smell of snakes.

I held my breath and climbed.

The attic was filled with Greek hero junk: armor stands covered in cobwebs; once-bright shields pitted with rust; old leather steamer trunks plastered with stickers saying ITHAKA, CIRCE'S ISLE, and LAND OF THE AMAZONS. One long table was stacked with glass jars filled with pickled things-severed hairy claws, huge yellow eyes, various other parts of monsters. A dusty mounted trophy on the wall looked like a giant snake's head, but with horns and a full set of shark's teeth. The plaque read, HYDRA HEAD #1, WOODSTOCK, N.Y., 1969.

By the window, sitting on a wooden tripod stool, was the most gruesome memento of all: a mummy. Not the wrapped-in-cloth kind, but a human female body shriveled to a husk.

She wore a tie-dyed sundress, lots of beaded necklaces, and a headband over long black hair. The skin of her face was thin and leathery over her skull, and her eyes were glassy white slits, as if the real eyes had been replaced by marbles; she'd been dead a long, long time.

Looking at her sent creeps up my back. And that was before she sat up on her stool and opened her mouth. A green mist poured from the mummy's mouth, coiling over the floor in thick tendrils, hissing like twenty thousand snakes. Inside my head, I heard a voice, slithering into one ear and coiling around my brain:

"I am the spirit of Delphi, speaker of the prophecies of Phoebus Apollo, slayer of the mighty Python. Approach, seeker, and ask"

I spoke after observing her for a second.

"The quest," I said and Percy followed with his own.

"My Destiny,"

Then in front of us a swirl of green mist manifested and turned into an image of four several man, one of the man was Mr.Blue but the other three I have no idea. But looking at Percy he seemed to know who they were.

The first one to speak was the one Percy was glaring too intensely.

"Two of the sons of the great gods are chained, but the other shall be free from his shackle." Then one of the men spoked looking at Percy.

While the other turned it's head to me.

"However the chain on the other shall tighten it's grip around the other,"

Another one followed after giving me a red flag.

"He shall be betrayed by the one who the daughter of wisdom trusted,"

And finally Mr. Blue turned his head to me and spoke with green mist coming out of his mouth.

"But in turn he will have the stolen lightning."

Then the mist disappeared going back to the Oracle's mouth leaving both me and Percy standing confused in the attic.

Our meeting with the Oracle is over without actually getting a quest but instead a grim prophecy.

"Well that was certainly helpful," I sarcastically said which made Percy chuckle a bit.

***

Isn't this quite a prophecy. Now I have to worry about things I shouldn't have. I was quite content with my monotone life, going to school and learning stuff I don't like, fighting monsters weekly or monthly.

But now? I have to worry about some stolen lightning bolt because my childlike father was careless enough to let it be stolen. Tsk, what a fucking headache.

And what is this about one of the two of us being betrayed by the Wisdom's daughter's trusted friend. Well whoever that friend be, I'll fucking electricute him.

"Percy, please if you're the one who's going to betray me, I'll warn you early, I won't compromise," I said to Percy.

"I hope you aren't the one who's going to betray us too," Percy said to me.

Now we gotta break the news to everyone. Aftee we were done we headed back to where Grover and Chiron where and told them about the grim prophecy.

"Hmm that is certainly quite alarming," Chiron said.

"What? Betray? Who would do that!?" Grover exclaimed.

"Well ah geez Grover, we're asking that same question too, maybe you'd know," I sarcastically said to him which gained me a bit of glare from Percy cause this goat was his best friend.

"So what now?" Percy asked Chiron. Since there's no quest we're unsure of what to do.

"We could only prepare," Chiron said.

"Oh great idea. How'll we do that?" Of course I have to break the ice. When I said those Percy, Grover and Chiron only gave me an awkward look.

Guessing from their fidgeting hands, they don't know too.

Seeing their silence I inwardly thought.

'That's what I thought, he's clueless too,'
