Chapter Eight: Athena's Cabin

<A Week Later>

"Mhg, ah~" I sigh, still sleepy despite going to bed on time.

'It's been a week now, damn is this an experience.' I thought, I met the other camper with them being told I'm the son of Poseidon. Most like me, especially the Aphrodite cabin, thought I think it's because of my age.

As I finished getting dressed, I hear a few knocks.

"Percy are you awake? It's Chiron." I heard Chiron say, muffled through the door.

"Yeah, let me get it." I say, walking towards the door and open it, seeing Chiron there with a smile on his face. He pats my head as we head towards the dining pavilion.

"How was your sleep Percy?" He asked, making me smile.

"It was great, still a little sleepy though. How was yours?" I asked, gaining a chuckle and a hand to ruffle through my hair.

"It was extraordinary, thanks my boy. Are you ready for today?" He asked, causing me to remember what was happening today. Today Athena was going to teach me and her cabin on light weapons, as I still am not allowed to use a sword. It makes my smile widen as she and her children can bond.

"Yep! I think I'm gonna pick a short sword." I said, gaining a raised eyebrow.

"You sure? Aren't you going to use a Xiphos later?" He said, making me huff out a 'yeah'. It's nice to be a kid again, it's so peaceful. Ironic considering I'm training for a war, scratch that two wars.

"Anyway, how are you adjusting to Camp? I know most campers adore you, even Mr. D is starting to enjoy your company, but how are you really feeling?" Chiron said, with a worried face.

"I'm okay, i'm glad my mom brought me here. Though i may not see her, I hope she lives the life she deserves." I said, during my time here I realized that Gabe won't be joining my life. Which means mom will either find Paul or meet someone else.

"Good. I was worried you might be uncomfortable here at camp, despite my best efforts." Chiron said, making me feel nice. It's nice to have someone to care about you, especially like a dad, or close teacher.

"Good Morning Percy! Chiron!" Yelled Laura, the girl who brought me to Chiron. Speaking of him he started chuckling and replied with a 'Good Morning to you too, Laura.'.

"Good morning Laura, whats up." I said, as she cooed, trying to grab my cheeks.

"Aw~ look at you trying to sound like a big boy." She said, as she started to pinch my cheeks as the Aphrodite cabin saw me and started giggling madly. I push off her hands and pout, gaining more squeals.

"Ahaha! Anyway, I'm just checking in on our mascot. I'll be at the Archery Range, see ya!" And with that she was off, I sigh while ignoring the chuckles and giggles. We made our way towards the Pavilion while I go to sit at my table, Poseidon's table.

"Fanta Fruit Punch please." I ask after grabbing a plate of pancakes with syrup. I see the cup get filled and hear a giggle from the nymphs with them waving. I wave back and chow down. After finishing I make my way towards Athena's cabin and wait outside for them to arrive.

"Good morning Percy. I see your early." Athena said, startling me which made her smile lightly. I smile back.

"Good morning Lady Athena, and yes I finished breakfast early." I replied, as we stood outside the cabin while waiting for everyone to arrive, I enjoyed their shocked faces, some happy and others angry.

Athena starts to explain the situation, causing more than a few to send me grateful glances. As she announces the lesson today they start to get excited as we all appear at the arena, with a few tables with short or small weapons on it.

"As you heard me earlier we're learning how to use light weaponry. Ranging from the Dagger towards a short sword. Please pick your weapon and come back in a line." Athena says, as we form a line.

I see some of the cabin taking Daggers, short knives, even a few small axes. I take my turn and choose the short sword. I turn around and see Athena as she had a knowing smile.

"Alright, I'll go through each weapon as to give you an understanding. If you need help ask a pier and if they can't help come to me." Athena said, true to her words she went through the weapons that were picked and helped a few people who were lost, though she focused more on me than her kids, which drew some jealous looks along with some understanding ones.

After close to 30 minutes passed we took a break and drank some water, with some small talk going around with me chatting to a 13 year old boy named Damien. Once the break was done we practiced once again. Once training was done, I ran straight towards the beach in hopes to get a power up before my other classes.

'Todays gonna be a long day.' I thought, before jumping in the cool ocean.

<After dinner>

"Ah~ that was amazing." I said, feeling nice and full after eating dinner. I walk in my room to be greeted by Chiron waiting for me, why?

"Ah Percy, you might be wondering why I'm here. Well as you know when your claimed you are sent to your godly parents cabin, which is where we're going now. Argus has already moved your things so left go now." Chiron said, as I brighten up. Finally, I was wondering when I'd go to my cabin.

We walked down as I saw the rest of the camper entering their respective cabins, with a few Hermes kids looking at me confused before they realized and got jealous. Damn, jealous of a 4 year old, thats a new low I bet. We arrive at the sea green cabin as I smell the sea oozing off of it, ah~ just like home. My old home.

"Just pick a bed and it's yours. Since your the only member of the cabin you decide when it's lights out and when to head out. Good night Percy, sweet dreams." Chiron said, before he left closing the cabin door. I don't bother looking around at the moment and pick what looks to be the most comfortable bed and lie down, eyes closed.

'Light's out.' I thought smiling, before drifting off to sleep.
