chapter 3

Percy sat down and began thinking realistically. His vitality was pretty low, but the beast in yharnam could kill Percy in a few hits anyway, so why level it?

Endurance... Definitely. If he could hunt more while having higher stamina then that's even more perfect.

Next was strength and skill. This would allow him to dish out more damage in exchange for less health.

In Percy's opinion, it was good because why invest so much in health, when you can dodge?

"It is time for you to awaken good hunter. May you have peace in the waking world," the doll said and Percy felt his body flicker.

...

*Gasp* Percy's eyes snapped open and clenched his head. He had gotten a major headache from his "dream".

But the major telling that it wasn't a dream was the bath messengers on his bed.

"Ah... Hello," Percy said, and you can see the visible happiness on them.

I mean, after all, the messengers were made to take care of the hunter. Percy got up from his bed and noticed he was Taller than before.

Percy looked down at the little ones and noticed how they cleaned his room. Or more likely left it spotless.

All the mess Gabe had left disappeared as if it never existed.

"Thank you little ones," Percy said thankfully.

Percy left his room feeling... A lot better than he was before. And in all honesty, his mood was ruined when he saw Gabe...

Percy's hand went to the saw cleaver, only to notice it wasn't there... Okay, deep breaths Percy.

'we hunt beast... Not humans... No matter how repulsive,' Percy thought as he took a deep breath.

The little ones seem to have noticed his turmoil and disappeared for a second, only to return with a saw cleaver... My saw cleaver.

"Not today little ones... He gets to breathe another day," Percy said as he walked forward and behind Gabe.

[Stealth has leveled up: Level 3]

Percy's eyes were bloodthirsty as he stood behind Gabe, he knew he could kill him and get away with it. After all his mentor taught him how to dispose of bodies.

'you have no idea how close you were to losing your life,' Percy thought before leaving his spot.

Percy passed by his mother in the kitchen and watched her cook, something he wanted to learn.

"...can I help?" Percy asked reluctantly.

His mom turned to him and now he was able to see it. Her bags under her eyes, her body tense, and that wasn't it... It was the smell.

"Of course sweetie," she said, before stopping to take another look at Percy.

Percy washed his hands, to which he flinched a bit thinking how only last night they were soaked in blood.

"Are you okay Percy? You look like you haven't slept in days," Percy's mother walked to him and inspected his face.

"Sally my food," Gabe's annoying voice was heard in the living room.

My eyes flickered to Gabe and for a split second... Sally saw it. The once green eyes, now swarmed black... But that didn't hide the pain behind those eyes.

"We will talk about... What happened to you when we go to enroll you in your new school," Sally said before she took him back to the kitchen to cook.

[Skill {cooking} has been learned} level 1]

... (Sally pov)

Something was wrong. She could tell just by looking at Percy. He was still... He was NEVER still.

Not only that, but the way Percy walked too, without a sound. that didn't happen yesterday, no she knew that for a fact.

Percy was still a happy child in the morning but after last night... He became depressed... Distant... More cold.

It didn't take a genius to know he was hiding something. She felt the water vibrate in her cup and her head snapped to Percy.

He was cutting the potatoes as she taught him, sloppy at first, but then she couldn't help but marvel at his work with a blade.

But no, that look in his eye was back... The one he had when he glared at... The monstrosity in the living room.

Something in her gut told her she needed to get Percy out of the house, otherwise bad things would happen.

"Your... Worried," Percy said as he stared at his mother.

Percy's eyes returned to the normal sea green, but instead, his green eyes were more warming. But that didn't hide the fact that it felt like Percy's eyes were peering into her soul.

Sally gave her son a kind smile as she got Percy's paperwork ready to transfer him to Yancy Academy, the only one that would accept Percy at the moment.

"No Percy, just tired," she said as she ruffled his hair.

"I... Won't get expelled this time. I promise" Her son had the cutest pout imaginable.

"Now come on Percy, we need to get going," Sally said.

....

Percy had settled into his new dorm and finally was able to rest, but he didn't.

Percy opened his window, jumped out, and made his way back home. He quietly entered his home in the dead of night.

Him following Eileen allowed him to be able to stealthily move around, going undetected even by his mother who was sleeping.

Percy had walked to the couch where Gabe was snoring, and then Percy made sure he would stay unconscious for a while longer.

Percy was able to carry him far away from the house, and then... Let's just say Percy disposed of some trash.

[For completing your first hit. Skill {assassination} has been learned.

Assassination: all stealth-related skills increase by 50%. All daggers do a 40% damage.]

(^oh yeah, we getting Percy ready for BOM).

Percy took a quick rinse off, feeling better now that he had gotten rid of some trash.

He got back into his room easily enough, not even causing his roommate Grover to stir.

Percy lay in his bed and closed his eyes. And once again, entered the dream.
