Chapter 22:

Daedalus didn't have the best control of the labyrinth, but he had enough that I could use a ritual to subjugate it with worthy sacrifices. With my magical capabilities, I would have better control of it than he has ever had.

The maze would be my eyes and ears, every person that enters and does not have the necessary hiding capabilities would have their presence known to me. The only thing I changed so far is to make the maze more subtle in its attempts to kill.

After the business was done, I put on my armour. I didn't go for the nightingale armour this time since I didn't want people to connect the demigod kidnapping person to me, even though I made sure to wipe out all evidence, in this world you could never be sure.

The armour I chose to wear was enchanted heavy armour that covered every inch of me. I could handle the weight easily with my strength so that was never a problem and the noise was covered by the enchantments.

After that was done I put my trusty weapon on my wrist. The weapon was getting old but I didn't worry about that, its strength didn't decline and I still have never seen a better weapon. Which wasn't surprising since it was crafted by Hephaestus.

Just as I was done, Iliana came into the room with similar armour. Though had weight reduction enchantments on hers.

"Are we ready," She asked.

"Yes, I have been researching the location and if we are cautious enough we will be fine," I said.

"Why do you even want to go to the sea of monsters," Iliana asked.

"Benchmark my skills and with a name like that, it ought to have nice treasures."

"Fair enough, to want to take one of the boats or one of those flying things Daedalus built," She asked.

"You mean helicopter," I asked amused. Who knew Daedalus would be the one to build the first practical helicopter? It certainly worked in my favour.

"Yeah that," She said. I thought about it for a moment, Daedalus taught me how to fly one so it would be a feasible idea, but it came down to who was the bigger asshole, Zeus or Poseidon.

"Let's go with the Helicopter, I doubt Zeus would try to kill us but we could use magic to give us the aura of normal humans. Plus while Zeus may be lord of the skies, he can't focus on everything in the sky," They were both assholes so, in the end, it didn't really matter all that much.

With that out of the way we began walking through the maze and ended up in Florida, with the use of a mist form, we summoned our Helicopter and for good measure, Iliana made the Helicopter invisible.

We got into the vehicle and I began flying us to the sea of monsters. To our misfortune the weather was terrible, my bet was that Hera caught Zeus cheating again and he was mad that his lover was either cursed or dead.

Even with the inconvenience, we arrived at the sea of monsters in less than a day, though the weather became even more terrible. "I believe we are going to crash, Iliana,"

"That hardly sounds pleasant. My magic is ready to lessen the fall," She replied. While I was taught to fly, my experience was lacking and this world's storms were worse than in my previous life. Lightning struck against the helicopter and if it wasn't for last-minute enchantments it surely would have blown up, "We should have gone with the ship,"

"It doesn't matter now, get ready to jump," I said before leaving the pilot seat. I let Crow fly out first before taking Iliana's hand and jumping out of the helicopter. As we dropped down, I allowed Iliana to cast a feather fall spell on us and we slowly began to float down onto the soar of one of the islands.

"The sea is just as vicious as the skies. I would rather take my chances jumping down, than drowning." It looks like my early assumption was incorrect, maybe the two brothers were mad at each other or it had something to do with the mortal world war. We quickly got off the shore, seeing as aggressive waves were assaulting the beach.

"Crow be a good boy and scout the island," She said and seeing no protest from me, my little monster bird began flying away. "I'll watch over you, while you survey the island,"

With the confirmation, we camped while I looked through the eyes of Crow. Seeing a beauty spa, I sigh since I knew who it belonged to. Circe, Goddess Of Magic, and a sorceress famous for turning men into animals. Though from what I remembered in the books, she was quite the shitty goddess in the terms of power and skills.

"I sense the aura of a god and it looks like it is coming from a resort in the distance," I said.

"Are you sure?" She asked.

"Yes, the god isn't even hiding it. Let's just skip the island, I would rather not deal with a god today. Let's move, the helicopter crashing isn't what I would call inconspicuous " I said.

"Sure, I don't.." She stopped mid-sentence as she sensed magic being cast. I readied my weapon, ready to skewer whoever would test my meddle. A beautiful woman with green eyes suddenly appeared and if someone wasn't playing a trick on me, this would definitely be Circe.

"Easy there, I was only checking out who had the misfortune of crashing here. You can remove the invisibility, I know you are there," Using magic near a goddess of magic, would definitely give our position away, so I am not surprised she knows we are here.

"Well it seems like you caught us at an unfortunate time," I said as my invisibility disappeared. I was still cautious though."Would you be as kind as to tell us your name,"

"If you are interested in a makeover, maybe. Though I can't tell how much I should improve you with the armour on," She said as she assessed us.

"I am not sure if you are out of touch on how the world works, but you surely don't believe us stupid enough to unequip our armour in hostile territory," Iliana said and Circe's attention fully narrowed onto my friend.

"This invisibility was yours and I can recognize the feel of my mother's magic anywhere," Circe said. "It has been a while since a sibling of mine has visited, come, make yourself at home,"

Before we could answer, she turned around and began walking in the direction of the beauty spa. Iliana looked at me as if seeking the answer. I thought about it for a split second, Circe was known to be amiable to females and logically she would be even friendlier to a sibling. This is probably the first sibling Iliana met, yet the problem wasn't Iliana.

Did I trust her not to turn me into an animal was the question and my answer was no. I didn't have anti-Circe magic drugs that Hermes gave Annabeth and Percy, so I was a bit more cautious."Tell us your name first and we will decide if we decide to go with you,"

"Ugh fine. My name is Circe,"

"The same Circe who turned Odysseus' crew into pigs. I am sure you can understand why I would be reluctant,"

"That is a fair point, though you are with my sister unlike them who were just a bunch of strangers," Did I trust her to not try to curse her sister's friend. I would be in her position depending on the situation, but I know I am also a douche so it doesn't really count.

"Good enough," I said, I would skewer her if I saw any hostile signs but the thought of stealing or learning her magic knowledge was tempting. Plus I can always escape using shadow travel, though it isn't foolproof it would be enough. I need to get used to deities and this seemed like a good chance.
