1 Peaceful Life is boring

I'm Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, and I live for adventure. Growing up, I battled monsters, went on quests to save the world, and even faced off against the gods themselves. So, when I found myself living a peaceful life in New York City, attending university with my girlfriend, Annabeth Chase, it was... weird.

Don't get me wrong, I love Annabeth more than anything. But there's a part of me that misses the thrill of the chase, the rush of danger, and the satisfaction of saving the day. I've always been a hero at heart, and sitting in a classroom for hours on end just doesn't cut it.

I'll never forget my first quest. I was only twelve years old, and I had to venture into the depths of the Underworld to retrieve Zeus's stolen lightning bolt. It was terrifying, but exhilarating at the same time. And when I finally emerged victorious, I knew that I had found my true calling.

After that, there were more quests, more battles, and more triumphs. I fought against the Titans, battled the forces of Gaea, and even took on the god of time himself. Every time, I pushed myself to the limit, and every time, I came out on top.

But now, here I am, living a normal life like any other mortal. Sure, I still have my powers, and I still train with Annabeth every chance I get. But it's just not the same.

Sometimes, I catch myself daydreaming about my old adventures. I remember the feeling of the wind rushing through my hair as I flew on the back of a pegasus, or the warmth of the sun on my skin as I battled a sea monster. Those were the moments that made me feel alive.

But for now, I'll just have to make do with university classes and walks through Central Park. Who knows what the future holds, though? Maybe one day, I'll find myself in the middle of another quest, battling monsters and saving the world once again. And I can't wait.

It was a Saturday morning, and I was still in bed, trying to catch some extra sleep. Annabeth was already up, getting ready for her shift at the library. I was drifting in and out of dreams when I heard a voice in my head.

"Percy Jackson, wake up."

I bolted upright, looking around the room. Nobody was there, but I knew that voice. It was my dad.

"Poseidon?" I said, half expecting him to appear in a burst of sea spray.

But there was only silence. I shook my head, thinking I must have been dreaming. But then I heard the voice again.

"Percy, it's important. You need to listen."

This time, I knew it was real. I got out of bed, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, and went to sit at the window.

"What's going on?" I asked.

"Something is happening at Olympus," my dad's voice said. "The gods are gathering for a meeting. You need to be there."

"Wait, what? Why me?"

"I can't say more. Just know that this concerns you and your fellow demigods. The fate of our world may be at stake."

With that, the voice faded away. I sat there for a minute, trying to process what had just happened. Olympus? Meeting? Fate of the world? This was not the kind of thing I was used to dealing with on a Saturday morning.

I decided to tell Annabeth. She was already dressed, putting on her shoes, when I burst into the bathroom.

"Annabeth, we need to go to Olympus," I said.

She looked at me like I was crazy. "What are you talking about?"

"I had this dream... or maybe it was real... my dad told me the gods are having a meeting and we need to be there."

Annabeth raised an eyebrow. "Okay, first of all, you're freaking me out. Second, how are we supposed to get to Olympus?"

"I don't know," I admitted. "But we have to try."

As it turned out, getting to Olympus was easier than I thought. My dad sent a messenger sea serpent to guide us, and we were soon standing in front of the temple, just like in my dream.

The gods were gathered inside, just like before. Zeus was standing in the center, looking stern.

"My fellow Olympians," he said. "I have called this meeting because I believe our world has become too peaceful. Our demigod children have grown soft. They need a challenge, something to make them stronger and prepare them for the dangers that lie ahead."

I could feel Annabeth's hand tighten in mine. She knew what was coming.

"Thus," Zeus continued, "I propose a tournament. A tournament where our demigod children will fight against each other, to prove their strength and skill. The winner will be granted a wish, to aid them in their future adventures."

There were murmurs of agreement from the other gods, and I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. This was what I had seen in my dream.

"But Zeus," said Athena, goddess of wisdom. "We must be careful. Such a tournament could breed resentment and discord among our children."

"I understand your concerns, daughter," Zeus said. "

"But we cannot allow our demigod children to grow complacent," he continued. "They must be ready for whatever challenges come their way. And what better way to prepare them than by pitting them against each other in a friendly competition?"

Poseidon, my dad, spoke up next. "I agree with Zeus. Our children need to be pushed to their limits. And a tournament is a fine way to do that."

I looked around the room, taking in the other gods' reactions. Apollo looked bored, as usual, but I could see a glint of interest in Artemis's eyes. Dionysus was grinning like this was all a big joke. Hades, on the other hand, looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.

Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by Zeus's voice again. "And who better to oversee this tournament than our own son, Percy Jackson?"

I froze. Did he just say my name? Annabeth's grip on my hand tightened even more.

"Percy Jackson?" asked Artemis. "The son of Poseidon? I thought he was supposed to be off living his mortal life."

"I have been keeping an eye on him," Poseidon said. "He is still a valuable asset to our cause."

Zeus nodded. "Then it is settled. Percy Jackson will be in charge of the demigod tournament. He will choose the competitors, oversee the matches, and award the prize to the winner. We will stream it on Hermes news."

I felt like I was in a daze. Me, in charge of a tournament that would pit my fellow demigods against each other? It was a daunting task, but at the same time, it felt... exciting.

The meeting ended soon after, and Annabeth and I made our way back to our apartment. She was quiet the whole time, lost in thought.

„I think you should contact Chiron," she said in a sad tone and went sleeping.
