CH.22 Two Down One To Go

I'm starting to think that demigods might be cursed, not even a few hours after we get unto the bus, its tire blew out. And just like that, we had lost our method of transportation.

Of course, we couldn't stay and wait for the bus to be repaired as a sitting demigod is a demigod who will be attacked by monsters. And so, we resorted to walking, after about an hour of walking it started to turn night and we were hungry, luckily Percy had food in his backpack, but that did not last long so once again hungry, soon though we saw a building in the distance so we ran to it.

When we got close enough, we saw a sign that read: ATNYUMES GDERAN GOMEN MEPROUIM.

"Fucking dyslexia, Grover what does it say," I said turning to Grover.

"Aunty em's garden gnome emporium," Grover said out loud for us to hear.

This was one of the annoying things about being a demigod, because where Greek demigods our brains are hardwired to that specific langue, and we have a hard time comprehending English.

Like the sign said there were gnomes in front of the door, they looked ugly as hell and were waving, as we got closer, we started smelling food.

"Hamburgers," Percy said smelling the air.

"The light on is on the inside, maybe it's open," Annabeth said.

"Snack bar," Percy said wistfully.

"Snack bar" Annabeth agreed.

"Are you two crazy, this place is weird," Grover said, tell them," Grover said and turned to me?

"Sorry but I'm hungry," I said and started following them.

"Bla-haha looks like my uncle Ferdinand," Grover said behind us.

We stopped at the whare house door and Percy was about to knock.

"don't knock, I smell monsters" Grover pleated

"Your nose is clogged up from the furies:" Annabeth said.

"All I smell is hamburgers aren't you hungry?" Percy said.

"Meat! I'm a vegetarian"

"You eat cheese enchiladas and aluminum cans," Percy said

"Those are vegetables, come on let's leave the statues are looking at me," Grover said creeped out.

Percy knocked at the door and out came a middle eastern woman, she had a black gown that covered everything but her hands, her eyes glinted behind the curtain of the black gauze.

"Children it's so late, where are your parents," she said in a middle eastern accent.

"Tire. Um," Annabeth was trying to say.

"I'm so sorry mam we are on a camping trip and we strayed from the camping spot and before we know it was night," I said.

"By the time we rely it was the night we were already lost until we saw this place, we were wondering if you be kind enough to let us stay here," I said.

"yes, we can contact our graduation in the morning, is that food I smell?" Percy said.

"oh, my dears, you must come in, poor children, I'm aunty em go straight through to the back of the warehouse please there is a dining area," she said and let us inside.

The warehouse was filled with very lifelike statues, some of them whereof people having pure horror on their faces as if seeing something horrific in the last moments of their lives. At this point I was getting suspicious, the fact that she believed my lie without questioning it dint raise my suspicion that much but what did was the statues.

The statues were too realistic, so much in fact that you would have a hard time thinking that it wasn't a person. So, when she kindly brought us food I dint eat and let Percy and Annabeth eat, she didn't charge us money which was nice but again more suspicious. And then she did something stupid she said Annabeth's name even though she never introduced herself, so I looked at her whit my soul senses.

And low and behold I find another gorgon and this time I'm pretty sure it was medusa because her name was aunt em. I sat down and when she went into the kitchen I talked to the group.

"Stop eating its laced," I said causing them to stop.

"What!" Percy said dropping a hamburger.

"Shut up and close your eyes, she's a monster, medusa to be exact," I said and closed my eyes causing them to follow.

"I knew I smell a monster," Grover said.

"Oh, no uncle Ferdinand," Grover said again.

"of course, the statues how did I not see that," Annabeth said.

"So, what do we do" Percy whispered.

"When she comes back, I'm going to throw the table and you all are going to run," I said.

"What about you!" Percy said.

"don't worry about that I can fight with my eyes closed you can't, just keep distracting her and wait for me to get a jump on her," I said

"and how are we s-"Percy was about to say but was interrupted by a voice.

"Children hope you have room for more" medusa said coming back with a plate of fries making the table go quiet.

"Children?" she said sounding confused.

At this point, all of the eyes were closed so she was starting to get what was happening, so I kicked the table sending it towards her.

"GO!" I yelled.

"RUN! Maia" Grover said making wings come out of his sneaker which Percy gave him.

Annabeth and Percy ran in a different direction while medusa showed her true figure removing the veil, she was wearing transforming into the full gorgon mode, making me shadow teleport away.

"The gray-eyed one did this to me, Adrian," medusa said to me with a sympathizing voice.

"don't listen to her," Annabeth said.

"silence" she snarled.

"I know the legends and I have to say I'm sorry," I said making my voice come out from everywhere, making her turn to find where I am.

At this point, I knew where everyone was, so I went towards Percy and grabbed him.

"Stop struggling and hold your breath" I whispered making him stop and me teleporting him into the nearby.

"oh, I knew you get it, those gods are nothing but lairs," medusa said.

"Trust me I know," I said and then went to Annabeth and did the same with Percy.

"But even though Athena cursed you, you never had to kill, you never had to become like this," I said trying to find Grover but he was flying and I could teleport to him.

"LIES, IT WAS ALL HER FAULT!" medusa said with anger.

Out of nowhere, Grover came out with a tree branch yelling "this is for uncle Ferdinand he yelled and hit medusa a few times before running away giving me a good opportunity to kill her.

I well opted out of her shadows swung Cain for her head just as she was about to dodge cutting her head off "if you blame everyone else for your problems you'll never solve them" I said after cutting her head.

Her body disappeared but the head remained just like her sister and just like that, I had the heads of two gorgon sisters, one more and I would complete my collection.

'This was not an easy battle as it seemed she was much more powerful than her sisters and if it wasn't for Grover distracting her I would have a hard time I was lucky to let's not develop an ego' I thought and then teleported to where everybody else was.

"Adrian!" Percy yelled seeing me appear.

"what happened," Annabeth asked.

"I killed her don't worry, by the way, nice job Grover couldn't have to don't it without you," I said making him blush and rub the back of his head.

"so what do we do now," Percy said.

"now we camp and tomorrow we plan," I said bringing out camping gear from my inventory.
