Pay 2 Play System

"Arghh, what did I do to deserve this?" Mason yelled to the skies.

The bear now fully came into sight, it's appearance even more menacing.

Mason looked around him for paths to run, but all he saw was the same path he came from.

"Guess it's the only way." he said as he started sprinting full speed back to the village.

The bear however, didn't feel like letting it's prey go. Who said beasts didn't have it tough? He hadn't eaten in days!

Mason, having an already weak constituition. Was of course, way slower than the massive bear. So the beast caught up to him in no time. Mason fell into despair seeing this, and knew he had 1 thing over the beast: Intelligence.

He started to think about all sorts of things and found his best possible solution. It wasn't anything too crazy, all he had to do was run into the forest on the left, and then climb a tree high enough so the bear couldn't reach.

"Well, that sure is easier said than done. But I'll have to try anyways."

And so, with a whopping speed of 25 km/h Mason started sprinting towards the forest. The bear seemed to let him get a headstart knowing it was a useless attempt.

Mason, seeing that the bear had no intentions to chase him for now, got exhilarated.

"I might just actually survive this fucked up situation." he said out loud

After running around a bit he finally found a suitable tree to climb. It was about 25 meters high and it had a diameter of about 60 centimeters.

The bear saw that the little boy had begun to climb, so it started moving towards him. Getting bored of waiting too long.

'All i can do now is pray that i don't die. The bear looks too big to climb this tree.'

And it was true, the bear couldn't climb the tree because of it's big body. Mason however, had also overlooked an important factor about beasts: Their strength.

The bear started hitting the tree as hard as possible.

*ruffle* *ruffle*

The tree started shaking, and Mason knew.

"I'm absolutely fucking fucked."

Suddenly, the tree collapsed and Mason started his freefall towards the ground. He started thinking about all the moments with his mom.

'I still haven't bought a big house in the city, and haven't repaid my mom for anything. Surely I'm not actually going to die here right?"

The bear looked at the falling boy with a smirk on it's face and it seemed to be thinking that this boy was truly foolish. How could the silver haired kid have overlooked such an important factor?

There was only one answer to that question. It was the fact that Mason had never had an encounter with a beast, or ever heard stories about them. Their village was peaceful, and no beast ever came close because they are naturally attracted to mana. There wasn't much mana in the village because there weren't any Mages.

After the boy hit the ground, the bear stared him down.

Mason smirked a little, he knew he was going to die. That didn't stop him from making a last desperate attempt. He had placed a trap in the tree in case the bear could climb it. It seemed lady luck was on his side. Because the trap came falling down right to the bear.

"Take that you big fucker, see you on the other side." Mason said as he was bleeding heavily

The bear looked up and saw a large pointy branch over 3 meters long crashing down towards him. He didn't have time to dodge anymore and the stick pierced it's large body.

"Hahahahaha" Mason let out a laugh. "Fuck you."

Now, the forest was silent. As it usually was. But this time if you went inside it, you'd see 2 creatures bleeding to death. Both as helpless as one could be.

'Is this the end? This is all my shitty life could come to?' Mason thought as he lost hope.

Just as his vision darkened, he heard a sound.

*Ding*

Mason let out a final sentence before he lost consciousness.

"What the actual fuck?"
