Chapter 1

"Luise! You've been made!" Mark shouted through the earpiece. But through his screen, he saw that she was still moving on ahead. "Shit…" he muttered.

Luise moved stealthily through the building, not noticing the people behind her. These people were trained professionals. They wouldn't be caught by a mere agent sent by the resistance. They made to go for her when she suddenly disappeared, the dart coated with the sleeping poison going right through where she was a split second earlier.

'Hologram' the person in the front realized and looked back… only to find all his partners killed and a dagger not 2 inches from him.

Travis sighed. Luise got so much better at this, even he thought she was real. But then again he was looking at her through a screen, through a drone about half a kilometre away.

He still didn't get why he, a multi-specialist, was kept inside the headquarters when Luise, an illusion and assassination specialist, was doing special ops!

He was still mulling over when there was a knock at his door. "It's me!" the person outside said. Travis got up and opened the door to find his best friend, Travis.

"How're you holding up, sulker?" Travis asked, smiling, he looked at Mark's bandaged stomach.

"C'mon man, you know that I've done missions like this in worse conditions-" Mark began.

"Well, it's not your call to make." Travis interrupted. "Besides, the director didn't stop you from going because of the wound. She stopped you because she has an assignment for you"

Ah… the magical words…. Mark's eyes grew serious. He would do anything for an assignment. And that wasn't an understatement.

"When?" was all he asked.

Luise hated security droids. They could see through any and all of her holograms, which made up about half of her skills. They could use thermal vision which made all of her assassination techniques, which relied so much on her hiding herself in the shadows, useless. So basically, she couldn't be of any use against the robots.

Which is why when she ran right into a batch of them, she cursed herself for not noticing before.

"So, they sent you huh, Luise the scarlet," said a voice from behind a droid. A quick glance towards it showed her a figure emerging from the shadows. It revealed itself with a mask on its face. It was made of a one-way tinted glass, so while they could see her just fine, their face was a mystery to her. The bulky full-body outfit didn't help either. The voice was altered by the mask so she couldn't even guess the gender of the person.

"Who are you?" she asked, fully turning to the figure. She levelled a glare at them hoping intimidation would make him more likely to give her the intimidation. She gripped her daggers in her hands in a stance making it clear what would happen if she didn't get her answers.

However, she was disappointed as the person began laughing.

"Oh, this is fabulous! I see where you get your reputation from Scarlet-san! " her glare only intensified as they spoke "Coupled with your beauty, the glare would scare a lesser man to death! But unfortunately for you, I am no lesser man."

Aha, so he was a man. It was progress. She carefully controlled her expression and began probing him again.

"Does Pandora's Box mean anything to you?"
