Chapter 07:Meeting a not yet old man

Fugaku was given the task of meeting the third Hokage.

Fugaku's father was worried about the clan's inability to produce a powerful ninja, and he hoped that Fugaku could impress the Hokage and restore the clan's reputation.

However, Fugaku was frustrated with his father's expectations and with being forced into the position of Jonin by those old foggys in the Clan without being asked for his own opinion.

Despite his misgivings, Fugaku chose to meet with the Hokage and try to demonstrate his skills, although he would have liked to meet the old man at a much later point in time.

[Date: The next morning]

In the early hours, Uchiha Fugaku meticulously organized his ninja equipment, carefully placing kunai, shuriken, explosive tags, and other small items that could be used to set up traps into his pack.

As Fugaku approached Hokage's Office, he felt a sense of anticipation mixed with nervousness.

Fugaku stood in front of the door to Hokage's Office and hesitated for a moment before knocking.

*Knock*

*Knock*

He knocked on the door, and a moment later, the thick, powerful voice of the Sāndaime echoed from inside, inviting him in.

As he pushed the door open and entered the room, Fugaku saw the Hokage sitting quietly in his chair, radiating the aura of a true powerhouse, he could not help but feel a sense of awe as he laid eyes on the powerful figure seated behind the desk.

Unlike the Hokage he knows from the show who is several decades older and gives people the feeling, that he is an old loving pervert, the current Hokage exudes a youthful and vibrant aura.

"Hokage-sama, Uchiha Fugaku is here to report.": Fugaku announced as he entered the Hokage's office.

"Hokage-sama, Uchiha Fugaku is here to report.": Fugaku announced as he entered the Hokage's office.

"Welcome, young prodigy of the Uchiha Clan.": the Sandaime Hokage greeted warmly, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "I have heard much about your skills and potential from several sources, though I have yet to form my opinion. Nevertheless, I am excited to see what you will bring to the table." The Hokage leaned back in his chair, observing the Uchiha with keen interest.

"I appreciate your kind words, Hokage-sama, but my modest accomplishments pale in comparison to your illustrious reputation," replied Fugaku in a dry tone.

Sāndaime Hokage responded with a gentle smile, "Fugaku, you underestimate yourself. As the youngest Uchiha to awaken the 3-Tomoe Sharingan, since Kagami, you have boundless potential for the future. I hope you will not limit yourself to just your family's interests, but consider the greater good of Konoha in all your actions. Always remember that our duty as shinobi is to serve and protect the village above all else.".

Fugaku nodded in understanding, feeling a sense of pride and responsibility wash over him, but he was aware that this guy is as trustworthy as a scorpion.

"The future ultimately belongs to the younger generation, and it's up to you to carefully consider it," stated the Hokage.

"Thank you for your guidance, Hokage-sama. I will certainly give it serious thought," replied Fugaku respectfully.

Fugaku knew he couldn't trust the Sāndaime, in the near future the Uchiha-Konoha conflict would only further intensify.

After the Kyūbi's attack, Konoha's top officials blamed Uchiha for controlling the beast and causing Yōndaime's death, leading to the Clan's eradication, and this bastard will be in the middle of everything orchestrating the show with his loverboy Danzō.

For now, Danzo's factions are only conspiring against the Uchiha in the shadows, many high-ranking officials are not helping him yet. But soon the Uchiha will be left without allies, and Danzo's ambition to obtain the Sharingan will escalate with each passing day.

Having a 3-Tomoe Sharingan is equivalent to having an extra life, thanks to the powerful Izanagi technique. No one would easily give up the opportunity to acquire such a valuable asset.

The 3-Tomoe Sharingan doesn't help against Kage-level Powerhouses directly, but nonetheless, it helps secure the possessor's life if he is smart about it.

Sandaime Hokage picked up a scroll from his desk and turned to Uchiha Fugaku. "Fugaku, I have an important mission for you," he said, his voice turning serious.

He handed the scroll to Fugaku. "This is your promotion mission. You must explore the Land of Rain in the Land of Wind and report back to me with any valuable information you uncover." Fugaku took the scroll and carefully unrolled it, his eyes scanning the details of the mission.

He knew it was a significant task, and he couldn't afford to fail. "I understand, Hokage-sama," he replied, his voice unwavering. "I will leave immediately."

Fugaku realizes that the mission is to prepare for a potential upcoming Ninja War. The Land of Wind and the Land of Earth have already sent small troops to the Land of Rain, and Konoha won't wait until the two countries occupy it before taking action. It's possible that small-scale conflicts between the Three Countries have already begun.

Intelligence-gathering missions are relatively simple for the Uchiha Clan, as their Sharingan's Genjutsu allows them to extract information from their targets easily.
