Chapter 05: 43 Kunai

As the story progresses, it is revealed that Eikichi and Fugaku share a close friendship. However, the narrator's pessimistic outlook on life seems to cloud his judgment as he tries to develop the plot. He becomes fixated on negative possibilities. The narrator's thoughts become more of a hindrance than a help as he tries to create tension and suspense.

"Why are you plotting against me?!": Fugaku cries unwillingly.

[POV: Fugaku]

"Anyway, why are you here? And how did you even manage to get past the guards and sentries?" Fugaku asked the blonde schmuck.

"Haha, I couldn't resist the urge to see you, my friend," Eikichi replied with a chuckle. "As for getting past your security measures, let's just say I have a few tricks up my sleeve. But speaking of security, I couldn't help but notice a few loopholes in your compound's defense. If you're interested, I can show them to you for a price," he added with a sly grin.

Fugaku raised an eyebrow in amusement. "And what price would that be?"

Eikichi's grin widened. "Oh, I don't know, maybe a sparring session with the great Uchiha Fugaku and a bit of money for equipment?"

Fugaku couldn't help but smirk. "You're on."

Eikichi knows that he can't rely on his strength, and to stay ahead in this ever-shifting world, he needs to plan ahead and invest in his own survival. The offer to Fugaku to sell his knowledge of the compound's defenses was not just for the money, but also to gain the Uchiha clan's allegiance and resources.

With this, he would be able to invest in learning Fuinjutsu, get better equipment, and ensure his own safety in case the danger was indeed approaching.

[POV: Narrator]

"Let's go, I need to test out a few things and then we can spar.": I said to Eikichi.

Minutes later in a different part of the training grounds further away from the others, two young children could be seen fighting.

They did not hold back at all and each of them had several bloody cuts on their bodies.

With a few hand signs, Fugaku unleashed the formidable Gōkakyū no Jutsu, the Uchiha clan's signature Ninjutsu.

The Gōkakyū no Jutsu, also known as the "Great Fireball Technique," is a fire-release ninjutsu technique where the user gathers a large amount of chakra in their chest and throat before releasing it in a large, powerful stream of fire. The resulting fireball is one of the Uchiha Clan's most famous and powerful techniques.

The moment Eikichi saw him taking a deep breath while performing the hand signs, he knew what was coming, so he jumped out of the way while throwing two Kunais directly aimed at Fugaku's head and torso.

Fugaku unleashed his signature jutsu, and a fierce and intense heat permeated the air. The fireball, burning with incredible heat, erupted from his mouth and engulfed everything in its path, igniting the leaves on the ground and creating a fiery vortex that twisted the air around it. The heat was so intense that it made it difficult to breathe, and the intense glare of the flames made it hard to see. It was a truly awe-inspiring sight, one that made even seasoned ninjas take a step back in fear and respect.

"Are you trying to roast me alive?!" Eikichi exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock as he felt the intense heat of the flames.

Fugaku swiftly evaded the incoming Kunai aimed at his head, his body moving in a blur of motion. He then countered by blocking the one coming at his torso with a swift movement of his arm.

"You goddamn idiot! You deserved it! Who the hell told you to throw 43 damn kunais at my balls today!" Fugaku yelled furiously, his eyes burning with anger.

"My teacher instructed me to target that spot!" Eikichi exclaimed, his face turning crimson with embarrassment.

"Damn you! You came close to wiping out my entire future lineage, you heartless monster!" Fugaku cursed, as he formed seals with both hands, his movements quick and precise. With each seal, a burst of flames erupted from his mouth, aiming at Eikichi in front of him. The intense heat caused the air to shimmer and twist, and the fallen leaves on the ground ignited, sending sparks and embers flying in all directions. The flames raged on, creating a wall of fire that seemed to stretch on endlessly.

"Wow, Fugaku, you must have really missed being the target of Kunais! It's not like any of them hit you, so why the anger? It was just a few, and anyway, your dodging skills are still on point though!" Eikichi said with a hint of irony in his voice.

"You call 43 'just a few'? What kind of standard do you have? Any normal human being would have stopped after the first few, but you kept going like a maniac! You brought this upon yourself, Eikichi!" Fugaku said with a fierce glare directed at the blonde ninja.

Fugaku and Eikichi have been practicing until nightfall, Fugaku becoming fully familiar with all of the Ninjutsu techniques he had been cultivating. The forest around them was by the end a complete mess, with burnt and dry branches scattered all over, and yellow leaves that had been roasted to a crisp covering the forest floor.

"Looks like you have some anger management issues to work on, Fugaku!" Eikichi remarked, a mischievous smirk spreading across his face as he surveyed the wreckage left in the wake of Fugaku's outburst.

"Who is to blame for it?!": Fugaku asked back.

"Whatever. Have you come to a conclusion about Genin or Police Force?": Eikichi asked him.

"Not really."

"Well, if you don't choose one. The elder clan members will try to influence your father's decision for you.": Eikichi reminded him.

[Location: Uchiha Compound]

As the night falls, the Uchiha tribe comes to life with vibrant lights illuminating the area. The shinobis have finished their day's work and now they gather outside to unwind and enjoy each other's company.

Some indulge in a little wine, while others boast about their achievements. Curious little children wander around to witness the strange happenings, which later become the talk of the tribe.

Walking through the lively atmosphere, Fugaku makes his way towards his home, greeting the clansmen he meets along the way.

The clan may have its internal conflicts, but during these moments of relaxation and camaraderie, they come together as one. The night is still young, and the Uchiha tribe is alive with energy and vitality.

As Fugaku entered the courtyard, the familiar sound of his father's voice and the chatter of his fellow clan members filled the air. He walked towards the group, nodding in greeting to those he passed by.

As the Uchiha Patriarch and Chief of Police Guards, Uchiha Tenjō, frequently held meetings at his home.

"Welcome back, Fugaku," Uchiha Tenjō's voice called out. "Please come in, I have something to discuss with you."

"Yes, Father," Fugaku replied as he entered the room.
