Path to Strength

This is the first book I am posting on this platform, so I ask for patience. My native language is not English, and I am not ashamed to say that I am using the so-called "Best Translator in the World" to help me with this work (DeepL translator). I was really trying to find fanfics that take place in the worlds of Baki, Kengan Ashura or the like, and although I found them, I only came across ones where the character gets supernatural powers that put him above any fighter from these worlds, and that frustrated me. A man needs to see two people fighting using their fists entirely, rather than creating interdimensional portals or something of that sort. So don't expect these kinds of powers here, because here there will just be the old way of solving problems. ---------------------------------------------------- It was a normal day for Yuji, going to school, then to the gym he was attending and finally home. A monotonous, but pleasant routine. There was no cause for pride, much less shame, so for the teenager that was enough. As always, everything was going as it should. That was until the moment when, looking in the mirror, the boy's whole perspective seemed to change. Facing someone who looked like him, but at the same time, was not him, Yuji sees himself in a similar world, but which is certainly not his. Crossover world of animes, including Tokyo Revengers, Baki, Kengan Ashura, Holyland, Hajime no Ippo and others that can easily be included in FF if readers have ideas.

"The google stock is going higher and higher. If it keeps going like this, in a few years I'll be able to sell the ones I bought for at least a few billion yen."

Sitting on the couch in his living room, Yuji was drumming his fingers on the keys of his notebook computer with agility, his eyes moving frantically as he seemed completely focused on what was happening on the screen in front of him.

"Meanwhile, no sign of Bitcoin. If I had enough knowledge or knew someone with that knowledge, I would definitely register the currency domain immediately. Unfortunately, I can only wait until the currency comes up and I buy at least a few hundred." Scratching his chin, he dialed something on his keyboard, his screen opening up what looked like a graph that was rising at a rapid pace.

"Youtube is appreciating in value very fast. Luckily, I've already invested a good amount so I can get a generous return in the future."

Focused on the task in front of him, the boy barely noticed when a shadow hovered over his back, his senses alerting him the instant he felt a strong pressure on his body.

Boom!

With one swift movement, Yuji put his arm above his head, his forearm receiving a fist that caused a loud sound to reverberate throughout the house.

"What have you been eating?" A female voice sounded behind him.

Turning around, Yuji watched his aunt retract her fist from her forearm, a fierce smile on her lips as she stared at her nephew with pride in her eyes.

"What were you thinking, Auntie? If I hadn't stopped the blow in time, my notebook would have been destroyed! That's costly!" Yuji pinched his nose in frustration, slowly waving his arm as he felt his muscles pulsing from the powerful blow.

"Don't be such a pain! If it's so valuable, you wouldn't let it be broken so easily."

A vein bulged in the boy's forehead, a tired sigh escaping his lips. His aunt was, without a doubt... Different. The woman feared no one, and hated the fact that she had to work for money. Even after years of living with the woman, Yuji still didn't know details about her work, and no matter how hard he tried to ask, Shisumi always found a way not to answer him, whether it was because he was sleepy enough to sleep suddenly, or even because a flying chair would always be aiming at Yuji.

As for her personality, the woman was proud as the devil himself, and fierce as a lioness when she could show her strength. Whenever she had an opportunity, she would attack Yuji regardless of what he was doing. Initially, the boy received blows strong enough to leave a mark of the woman's fist in his flesh, but after several constant attacks, he eventually got used to it, being able to perceive the woman's intention seconds before any attack.

Proud/happy/affectionate/curious.

Shisumi is proud of your evolution, happy that you are strong enough to defend yourself. Moreover, she notices what you are doing on your notebook, and supports you as she watches you work.

But despite her pride and happiness for you, she can't help but be curious about your rapid improvement. Sometimes she thinks that you might be using steroids to help your growth, but she assures herself that this is not the case.

With a dejected smile, Yuji sighed as he read his aunt's information. After becoming Mokichi's disciple, he decided that he would find ways to improve his skills, and even though he liked the feeling of using [Advance], the skill could be somewhat harmful in the long run, because even though he knew that his body was capable of adapting when put in intense situations, he wasn't sure if he could handle something that directly affected his heart. At worst, he would just shorten his life span or lose his memories as happened to Ohma Tokita.

So leaving the skill aside, he decided he would exploit a skill he had neglected since he received the system: [Observe].

It surprised Yuji that increasing the level of the skill was so easy. He only needed to constantly use the skill on people walking down the street, and eventually, he would increase a level or two.

There was no inconvenience whatsoever with the use of the skill, and that in itself showed that the skill was one of the best he had in his arsenal, after all, seeing how strong his opponent was something that could not be left out.

After constant use of the skill, it didn't take long for the boy to improve the skill to level 50, being surprised when the ability to see people's emotional state suddenly started appearing in his statuses after reaching such a level.

Yuji welcomed the new skill trait with open arms, but couldn't help but get frustrated when after reaching this milestone, raising the skill level became colossally more time consuming. Even after 5 hours of constantly using the skill it did not lead to an increase.

But that didn't change how useful [Observe] was compared to before its new function.

'And damn... Shisumi is already 38 years old... Basically a forty-year-old.'

The moment the thought crossed his mind, a fist struck him on the top of the head, the blow strong enough to push his neck to make him look at the ground.

"You were thinking something rude about me, weren't you?" With a strained smile, the woman asked as she raised her fist to Yuji.

Rubbing the top of his head in pain, he nodded in disagreement, this causing her to step back with a satisfied smile on her face.

'Good thing your blows now only hurt for a while. If I had received them before my fights against Ohma and Mokichi, I would probably be in a coma right now.'

As much as he occasionally felt frustrated by his aunt's attitude, he had no ill thoughts about her. Since she had raised him since childhood, the respect and affection he had for her was greater than anything. Moreover, no matter how much she constantly tried to slap him in the face, she had no shame in showing her affection for her nephew with sudden kisses on his cheek or affectionate hugs.

Yuji felt truly loved by his aunt, and this alone served to treat her with respect and affection, despite his constant jokes about her.

.

Entering a 24-hour store, Yuji walked through the aisles of shelves while seemingly searching for something, the boy, after a few minutes, stopping in front of what looked like a refrigerator full of yogurt.

"Uh..."

Looking around only to find not a single living soul around, Yuji cracked a slight smile as he picked up several jars of infant yogurt, quickly making his way to the cashier with a satisfied expression on his face.

With no one in the store except the attendant, the cash register was empty so the boy didn't have to worry about waiting to pay for his goods.

"Nice."

With a victorious nod, he stopped in front of the cashier as he placed the items on the counter, looking around as the attendant began checking the price of the items without saying a single word. Yuji found the cashier's lack of interaction odd, but didn't think much of it as he continued to pay attention to whatever was around. No matter how mature you are, being caught buying items that one would buy for young children did not seem pleasant in Yuji's eyes.

But in the end, it was something Yuji couldn't stop himself from liking. Not having access to these kinds of treats due to his childhood in his old life, he was hooked on tasting them for the first time when one of his old friends offered them to him.

"500 Yen."

It didn't take long for the attendant to check the price of all the items and put them in a bag, speaking the final price in a shaky voice that Yuji didn't even notice as he put the money on the counter and left the store with a bag full of yogurt in hand.

"Gulp." The attendant, who watched Yuji leave, had a completely sweaty face, his eyes trembling as if he was about to cry. "I-I thought he was here to get me."

The attendant wiped his face revealing a tattoo written: "Punishment" on the side of his hand.

"That's scary."

This was none other than Shuji Hanma, the former leader of the valhalla, who now made his living working in a 24-hour store.

"A-I think there should be a job opening at a store a few miles from here."
