Chapter 9: The Real Protagonist
When John reached the stage, many eyes focused on him. Naturally it was because he was a Noble of Count house which is the highest Nobility that can be achieved in our Fanix Empire Or, The other reason could be because John is very handsome. And the way many female students were looking towards his way, the latter reason seems more appropriate.
I was just going to put my hands on the Orb, when I felt a someone staring at me. When I looked towards the source of the stare I saw that Headmaster William was staring at me with curiosity.
"Brat...you look a little familiar, have we met before!?" asked Headmaster
"I don't think so Headmaster " Denied John
"Hmm... What was your name again!?" asked Headmaster
I just gave him a dry stare and asked " Headmaster, did you not hear it when senior Augustus called my name!?"
"Uh...oh that it was you see I was actually not paying attention to the ceremony that much you know. I was really happy at finally getting a successor for myself " Said Headmaster with guilt. Afterall it was bad for someone at his position to not pay attention to such an important ceremony.
When the students who have undergone Awakening Ceremony after Tatsuya heard what Headmaster said, all them just gave him a Deadpan stare.
"My name is John Bright sir" John hurriedly replied not willing to embarrass Headmaster anymore.
Unfortunately for him the moment Headmaster heard the surname Bright, his face became dark and he slowly asked with heavy voice.
"Are you the son of Leon Bright the count!?"
" gulp...yes Headmaster is something the matter" John didn't know why but it seems that the name of his father had somehow upset Headmaster.
" Ugh...That bastard was the most talented student that I ever had but when I asked him to become my successor, that fucker flatly refused" Headmaster William said angrily.
"You know what's more infuriating, when I asked him for the reason, He said it's bothersome. Can you believe it denying the chance to become my successor just for a silly reason like being bothersome" Headmaster William seemed absolutely livid after recalling about Leon.
After watching how Headmaster behaved, Tatsuya was relieved that he didn't reject being the successor of Headmaster.
Although John didn't say Outloud. But Internally he agreed that being a successor of Headmaster is bothersome. John also didn't understand one thing. Does Headmaster is so much angry about his father just for a silly reason like that.
"Headmaster, is being rejected the only reason that you are so angry about my father" Asked John with a little courage.
Hearing the son of Leon asking that to Headmaster. Teacher Lena answered instead of Headmaster.
"Well...John that's not the only reason. In the past Leon somehow always succeeds in finding different ways to anger Headmaster. Infact Leon once even teased Headmaster by saying: Hey old bones, you have already one foot in grave why don't you just select someone above average as your successor!?". Teacher Lena answered with a smile.
"That fucker!!!" Headmaster became utterly enraged remembering that incident.
And Teacher Lena seemed like she has more to say about the glorious deeds of my father. Being scared that Headmaster might take revenge of my father on me, I hurriedly put my hands on the orb.
The moment John's hands touched the Orb.It started shining bright red and the surroundings of the orb started burning.
"So it's the fire element, the same as your father. He also awakened the fire element along with earth element" Said Headmaster. And it seems he is even more upset that I awakened the same element as my father.
"Well it seems you are not as gifted as your father in the matter of elements. It's not surprising afterall dual elements are extremely rare" Headmaster said calmly but the subtle change in his voice seemed like He was bragging about Tatsuya to me.
The Moment Headmaster finished speaking the orb under my hand changed colours. Now it was very dark in colour and from all the nearby surroundings shadows of people, objects etc gathered and formed a sphere that enclosed the orb.
"Ugh... you father and son both are monsters, your father Leon also awakened dual elements but you, you not only awakened dual- elements, one of them is also the rare Shadow element" Headmaster said being astonished by my awakening.
"Well no matter whether you or your father, my successor Tatsuya is more monstrous atleast on the basis of Element by awakening 2 rare elements" Headmaster William bragged.
Unfortunately for him the moment He finished bragging, the orb under John's hands once again started flickering and changed it's colour to Deep Purple. And Lightning started to appear near the area of the Orb.
Now I was completely amazed by my own Awakening. Being curious to see the reaction of Headmaster, John looked towards his way and he saw that Headmaster William was completely gobsmaked and mumbled
" Thunder element which is again a rare element, I should have listened to Lena's advice"
But immediately realising that he said that a bit loud, he hurriedly looked towards Tatsuya and saw Tatsuya looking towards him doubtfully. Headmaster coughed and said:
"I have already announced Tatsuya as my successor, so even though you are a little bit more monstrous than him, Tatsuya will remain as my successor"
Hearing Headmaster say that Tatsuya was obviously relieved. But before the uproar due to my awakening even starts,
someone shouted to look towards the orb.
Headmaster had a feeling of Deja vu and he hurriedly looked towards the Orb which was now completely transparent.
"Huh...thank god for a moment I thought you had awakened a fourth element. Three elements can already make you a monster among monsters. I don't even want to imagine what can you be called other than Pervert if you had awakened the fourth element" Headmaster was relieved that John didn't awaken a fourth element. Even though it would a honour for the Academy for having someone with 4 elements.
"Headmaster you are getting old you should check your eyes". Teacher Lena suddenly remarked.
"What are you-" Before Headmaster could complete what he was going to say, He saw the huge mocking smile present in Teacher Lena's face. Headmaster William had a very bad feeling in his heart. He hurriedly looked towards the Orb again and noticed that even though the orb was transparent it was emitting light. And their are illusionary visions of many creatures fading in and out near it.
"Fuck me!!... Fucking fourth element and not only that it's for god's sake the summoning element " Headmaster William exclaimed loudly and started clawing upon his hairs wildly.
"Shit..shit..shit I should have listened to Lena's advice. Four elements such a monster is never seen in the empire. I missed such a chance to make him my successor. He is the perfect candidate to become my successor. He even awakened one of the same element as mine, thunder". Headmaster William was going crazy right now. He was cursing himself for being carried on by Tatsuya's Awakening and missing such a potential talent.
Suddenly, he inwardly thought, "Maybe It's not all gone to waste yet".
However, his hope's were soon crushed by the sweet voice of Lena.
"Headmaster, I have informed all the major powers of the Empire about your successor. Especially Marquis Vermelli, He was very excited about his son's Awakening" said Teacher Lena to Headmaster in a sweet voice. Headmaster William slowly and stiffly turned towards Miss Lena and saw that, she was wearing a shit-eating grin towards him.
"Lena, do you hate me that much!?" Headmaster William asked Lena in a crying voice.
"What are you saying Headmaster!?, weren't you the one who said that you will not get anyone more talented among the remaining ones?. Since that was the case I spared you the trouble of spreading the news about your Successor...". Said Teacher Lena cheerfully.
"You...why are you so petty!?" Headmaster William cried wrongfully.
"I don't understand, what you mean by that Headmaster" Lena acted ignorant.
But Inwardly she snorted and thought "It's your fault for mocking this lady hmph!!, Anyway This brat is pretty talented and has the same summoning element as me. Although this old bones failed to make him his successor, I can make him my disciple"
Although, it seems like a lot of time has passed but, it had been only a few seconds and it was only now that the audience came back to their senses and exclaimed at the Awakening of John Bright.
"What...are you kidding me?".
"It's fucking 4 elements"
"When was the last time someone awakened 4 elements?"
"You idiot, their's never been a case of someone Awakening 4 elements. Atleast not in our Fenix Empire".
"Woah...he is so handsome "
"I want to make babies with him"
"Slut.. didn't you want to make babies with Tatsuya!?"
"Bitch, I was feeling merciful that's why I left Tatsuya to you."
"I don't mind making babies with both of them"
"Will you girls stop acting like perverts?"
"Big brother John, I have a cute little sister, she can warm your bed and if you want she can even whine very nicely ".
"Help...their is a whiny monster here".
"Big brother ignore this perverts. I can be your sidekick, And by the way I also have a very hot Mother with big breasts and a nice ass".
"Fuck...will your mother even agree?"
"With how handsome and talented Brother John is, I am sure she will agree. And if she didn't then I don't mind drugging her"
"Eew.. that's nasty, by the way what about your father?"
"Hehe...he will be proud of me if I did that"
Hearing the increasing perverted things that their students are saying, both Headmaster's and Miss Lena's faces turned red because of anger and embarrassment. Especially Miss Lena, she thought that she had quite a bad mouth but hearing her students increasingly absurd talk, her whole worldview was refreshed.
"Shut the hell up!!!" Both of them shouted angrily to the crowd.
