160 Chapter 160

Impulse strolled through the forest, looking for animals or monsters to consume. He had pushed the thought that he could be deleted at any moment to the back of his mind so he could focus on the task at hand. One was gaining abilities from consuming other beings, and the other was finding a way to leave this game world.

'Leaving this world would be challenging. Do I need to buy the item from the shop?' Impulse thought, bending a tree branch out of his way. 'That would be--'

*Splash*

He stepped on something wet, causing him to look down. Below his feet was a green, gelatinous creature with no definite shape and a small white core in the middle. Right above its head was a note saying, [Green Slime, level 1].

Bending down, he picked up the creature, fascinated. 'Something that can survive with this kind of body. Interesting.' He thought, watching the slime envelope his arm as he started feeling his arm burning. Flinging his arm away, he noticed some part of his skin melted. 'Acidic effect. I wonder if it eats this... can I?'

He watched the slime move towards his legs, so he stomped down it, more specifically, the white core which he theorized was their 'heart.' The slime splatter all around, with the core smashed to pieces under his legs.

'I should probably control my strength later. Maybe eating it would grant some acid ability. If I am about to die, my regeneration skill will activate, and the damage will heal.' He thought, shaking the pieces of slime goo off his feet.

Without even taking a step, another smile appeared, coming towards him from behind a tree, leaving traces of mucus on the ground. Switching his club to his left hand, he squatted and carefully crushed the core, leaving the slime intact. He then picked up the remains, feeling his palm burn, before slurping it up.

'Slimy and delicious.' He thought, swallowing the slime. He felt his body brimming with life, and then;

[Ability "Physical Damage Reduction" learned]

'Hmm... I got a skill pretty fast. I thought I would have to kill ten to twenty to get one. And the slime acid didn't affect my body. That's Interesting.' Impulse thought, looking at the description. Just like its name, it is the ability that reduces the damage from physical attacks. 'It didn't say by how much percentage or what type of physical damage, but it is a pretty good skill to have.' Impulse thought as he continued moving forward.

Walking for some minutes, he found three vipers slithering towards him. When they noticed him, they all hissed, pouncing at him. He swung the club he held with his left arm, smashing an unfortunate snake. The other two managed to bite his arm. Well, they tried to. Their fangs broke on impact with his black, hard skin. They fell to the ground, wiggling in pain.

Squatting, he picked up the first one, casually biting off its head and eating it.

He felt an itch feeling on his gums, with four of his teeth growing into two hollow fangs. A notification then popped up, [Ability "Venom teeth '' learned], popped up. The description was, "Your teeth would produce venom that immobilizes the victim."

'Hmm...' Impulse thought, using his feet to pin the last living snake that was trying to slither away. He opened his mouth, touching one of his fangs. Mentally opening the gum that held the fangs to his mouth, a venom came out, flowing through the hollow fangs and dripping on his finger. He then closed up the gum, looking at his finger where a clear liquid lay on it. 'So the skills also change my body. I wonder what I will look like after absorbing a lot of skills...' He thought, finishing the snake he held, the one below his feet, and the one he smashed.

Before he could continue forward, he heard low grunts and mumble coming towards him. He waited a while before five creatures walked through the tall brush, coming towards him. They were green small humanoids, standing barely three feet tall. They have scrawny bodies and hairless heads with massive ears and beady eyes. They have twisted faces, flat noses with two sharp fangs protruding from their largemouths, and all held a wooden club. Above each of their heads showed [Goblin, Level 5].

They stared at him, and he stared back. Letting out shouts, they ran towards him, waving their clubs around. Impulse stood still, allowing them to hit him with their clubs, causing no damage. No, he felt nothing at all. Staring at the little monsters, desperately attacking him, Impulse noticed something.

When they attacked him, he briefly noticed a clear barrier appear between him and the club. Once in a while, a club would manage to break through the barrier to hit him.

'Is this the Physical Damage Reduction skill effect? The ones that broke through means their physical attack is high enough to ignore the skill, while the ones that stopped mean the skill reduced all the physical damage. Even those that broke are dealing no damage to me due to my high physical defense.' Impulse thought, rubbing his jaw.

'Is this a game mechanism? Would the skill carry on with me when I leave this world? I don't think so.'

He turned back to the five goblins, who were now exhausted. Looking at his HP, he noticed it was still full. 'Well, time to end this.' Taking in a deep breath, he opened his mouth, letting out a deep, loud roar. The five goblins instantly fell, shivering in fear. Reaching down, he grabbed one of them, noticing their stench. 'It's head would fit in my mouth. Should I eat it alive?' He stared at the scared creature, tilting his head.

He felt something flow down his arm, noticing it to be pissed. 'Was my roar that effective?' The piss didn't bother him at all. Letting out a grunt, he opened his wide maw and bit down on its head, killing it. Chewing on it, he looked at the other four who fainted in fear.

Swallowing the chewed-up head, he felt a warm wave move through his body. More specifically, his genitals. [Ability "Rape" learned] The description was, "It's easier for you to impregnate other species (especially Humans)."

'That's an... interesting skill.' Impulse thought, finishing the first goblin. He then squatted, eating the four goblins, and gained no skills. After killing all goblins, the notification, [You have leveled up], popped up.

Impulse first looked at his official status, seeing it was still in level 1, so he checked his game stat, seeing he was now level 2. 'So my game and official level aren't connected. Interesting.' Impulse thought, noticing his racial level is also now level 2, he has four skill points, and his resistance and agility each went up by one. 'I would guess skill points are used to increase stats. But I won't be using them. Getting strong by relying on skill points would be stupid. The chances of losing all those skill points boost when I leave this game is high.' He thought, swiping away the screen.

As he moved forward, he came across more slimes and goblins, which he killed and ate. He became a level 5, with the two random points he gains per level going to agility and resistance, bringing them both to 29.

As he walked past a big tree, he noticed 20 goblins, the biggest group he has seen so far, moving towards him. It was led by a goblin of small stature wearing a skull with three horns growing on its forehead on his head, a black cloak, and a crooked wooden staff in its hand. Above its head showed, [Goblin Mage, Level 11]

"(I#@!)^#&@)@!" It shouted, pointing its staff at Impulse.

"You are mad I killed your friends?" Impulse guessed, multiple growls escaping his mouth as he inspected this new goblin. "Don't worry. You will be joining them soon."

The goblin guessed the meaning behind the black Ogre growing, becoming angered, and shouting at its fellow goblins to attack. They hesitated before rushing towards the Ogre, angrily wavering their clubs. All twenty goblins started attacking the 8 feet Ogre, looking like children attacking their parents.

The Ogre ignored the attack and stared at the goblin mage, muttering something. As the chant finished, the goblins in its path moved away, and it shot a fireball that materialized in thin air towards the Ogre.

The Orge stared at the fireball as big as a basketball, coming towards him. He then reached forward, caught the fireball, which then exploded in his palm. Though his palm was scorched, it was nothing the natural regeneration of the Ogra can't handle.

The mage was shocked but immediately started chanting once more, with the other goblins 'distracting' the Ogra. Seeing the goblin chant once more, the Orge dropped his large club, raised both arms, muttering something in an unknown language as blue energy formed into a black bow in one arm and a spear in the other. The Orge then nocked the spear in the bow, pulling back before releasing. The spear shot forward in a silver streak, piercing through the head of the goblin mage.

Seeing their leader dead, the other goblins immediately ran away, not wanting to meet the same fate.

[You have leveled up]

[You have leveled up]

[You have leveled up]

[You have met the requirements to gain the class "Ranger" Do you accept this as your first class?]

'Hmm? Class?' Impulse thought, looking at the screen that appeared before him. 'From Masaru's memories, Rangers are those who use ranged weapons for combat. A ranged weapon, huh...' He thought for a while before accepting it. He is already a master at a close-range weapon, spear, so learning a far-range weapon should be beneficial. Even though the class and skill gained from it didn't follow on with him, his muscles memories and knowledge on how to use a bow efficiently won't be lost.

[You have gained the base class "Ranger" This has become the foundation of your future build]

His status now has Ranger at level 0, he gained 6 new skill points from leveling up making the total SP 16, with the six random skill points going to hp, making it 31.

[Your race, Orge, has passed level 5. Skill "Ogre's Roar" has been learned] The skill description stated, "A roar which would induce paralysis and fear to those in a lower level than you."

'My roar could already induce these effects.' He thought, letting out a low growl as he remembered the effect his roar had on the first group of goblins he met. 'This is a useless skill like the skill rape. I don't plan on impregnating anyone.' He willed the screen away, walking towards the corps of the goblin mage. Taking up the body, he removed its cloth before eating it.

[Ability "Goblin Language" learned], the description, "Allow you to speak the goblin tongues like a second language."

[Ability "Fire Ball" learned], the description, "Create and shoot a ball of fire."

Knowledge of the Goblin Language and how to cast fireballs flooded into his mind. He stood still for some seconds, digesting the information as a smile grew on his face. 'It seemed like knowledge-type skills are the most important.' Finding this out, he let out a roar out of excitement. In this game world, I need to focus on the mage path. This way, even if all my skill leaves after I leave this world, knowledge on these magic would stick with me. Hahaha. This world won't be as useless as I thought.'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Goblin Lord stood in front of his village, his 100 goblins and 70 Ogres standing behind him. The escaped goblin came to tell him a strong Orge killed goblin mage 1, their strongest mage. This caused him to gather all the goblin and Ogres leaving amongst them in front of the village, waiting for the Orge to show up.
Without long, an Orge walked out of the forest, walking towards them. The intelligent Goblin Lord immediately noticed the difference. Most Ogres look like large shaved gorillas with warty brown skin, with a greater deal of muscle mass, and jutting jaws sharply protruding out.
But this one was 8 feet tall with black skin and unfamiliar red line tattoos all over its body. It was extremely muscular, with hard 6-pack abs and arms that looked like they could crush his skull with a single punch. It has gray hair reached below his shoulder blades with two sharp horns growing out from his forehead and hollow black eyes with a red circle in the middle, acting as a pupil. It wore a brown raggy skirt and the signature skull of goblin mage one around its waist like a trophy.
It released a dangerous aura that told the intelligent Goblin Lord not to engage in a fight with it. The Orge stopped walking and pointed at them. "From now on, you are all my slaves." It said in the goblin tongues.
