(Claire POV)

"See you tomorrow Claire."

The sudden mention of my name by a familiar but distant voice snapped me out of my stupor. I looked confused at Irene, an extroverted, heavy music-loving girl who used to be my friend... Used to be? No, she's my friend. My only friend to be more precise.

Seeing how the girl practically shot towards the horizon, with that energetic disposition that even I found disconcerting, I turned around and made my way toward my home.

The streets of the city were as lively as usual, people coming and going from one place to another, trying to live their daily lives. The alleys of the city, as dark and secluded as always, told another story, one less lively and not suitable for minors.

I, for one, had no interest in any of this, all I wanted instead was to get home and spend the day with Desmond. Ideally, we would eat together, talk about our days, and then move on to more intimate things.
