Their New Powers (Part 2)

A day had passed since the former prisoners had arrived in Faruth's village and amongst them, the Goblins were feeling particularly down. After hearing Faruth's speech about staying in his village or dying from wild beasts, they were almost scared into staying. The other three that had been imprisoned with them however, didn't hold the same fear in their hearts.

They all knew that Gobudama held high ambitions, he had always wanted to be a chieftain himself and redeem the weak name of their race. Regardless of whether they were with him or not, all 4 knew that he would go on to achieve great things.

That's why the reason for their sadness came as a complete surprise to them. The next morning when they awoke, the hunters had returned to the village, each one carrying a large piece of meat with them. It wasn't until they got closer that they realised the true identity of the meat that the hunters carried. It was the three Goblins that had left yesterday, Gobudama included.

If the shock had worn off they would have undoubtedly burst into tears, but instead, they asked the hunters how they were found. Just as they were warned by the Chieftain, the three had been killed by magical beasts, deeper into the forest. The three tearfully deduced that it must have been some kind of fire element beast, due to the scorch marks around the deep claw wounds. The body was handed to the Goblins to bury, while the Chieftain was informed.

Just an hour or two later, the Chieftain gathered everyone outside of the cave again, and rattled off a sermon about how dangerous it was outside. That he felt sorry for the three that had passed away, but it was their own decision to leave. This greatly increased the trust that the villagers had in the Chieftain's word all the while removing any thought of leaving after today. The 4 Goblins that remained however, didn't really take in his words, instead, they simply returned to mourning for their friends, thinking of what could have been had they not ran into that pack of magic beasts.

**********************************************************

Faruth was stood inside the cave, his close aides standing beside him, letting off an aura of intimidation, they hadn't learned the [Buddhism] skill like he had, other than Alneth of course, so they were easily able to put pressure on Stage 1 beings, such as the ones in front of them.

After a while of silently staring at each other, Faruth decided to break the ice with the six.

["As you know by now, my name is Faruth and I am the Chieftain of this village. I am sure you all know why I have brought you here, inside this cave. You are not like the other villagers, prideful, arrogant even. You are stronger, I can tell. Never underestimate the nose of a wolf, I can sense things you can't even begin to fathom, strength being one of them. Now, you know me, but I don't know any of you. How about we start with you on the left, what is your name?"] {Faruth}

Of course, Faruth already knew both their names and their abilities through [Appraisal], but he decided to leave it to the mysticism of 'things they couldn't begin to fathom' for the moment, after all, if he wanted them on his side, it would be best for the others to know them too.

After Faruth finished speaking, the one that he had addressed began to fumble with their speech, in an attempt to get something out.

["Hyaa, hyes... I am.. I am Vi. I am a d-druid along wif my sister. I haven't evolved like any of... of you though!"] {Vi}

Faruth couldn't help but marvel at the cuteness of this girl, he could have sworn he heard her fumble and bite her tongue at least three times during her speech, no matter how short it was. He involuntarily let out a smile, with Vi had obviously misinterpreted, as it only led to her squealing more.

Just as Faruth was about to speak to the girl, the other Tigerkin, Wix spoke up.

["I am Wix, Chieftain, I am the older sister of Vi. As she mentioned, I am also a druid. It is an honour to serve."] {Wix}

Of course, only the two sisters and Faruth knew what she was on about. After all, not even Grimanth could discern his element.

["I am Drungni Falklans, I appreciate your assistance, Chief. Those bloody bastards had kept me locked up for too long!"] {Drungni}

Faruth was screaming within his mind, though his face remained calm. He was repeatedly chanting over and over that he wasn't racist for pre-emptively foreseeing the Scottish accent. He was spot on with his interpretations however.

["Oh, a Dwarf. And what is your job? Do you fight too?"] {Faruth}

["Fight? Me? Never! I might be a Dwarf, but these hands are for craftsmanship only!"] {Drungni}

Again, Faruth was screaming in his mind. He tried to convince himself that he was something other than a craftsman, but he couldn't help it! The urges took over!

["I am Maal, a Satyr. My village was destroyed during the night, I was the only survivor. But make no mistake, I am a great warrior!"] {Maal}

Despite the fact that Maal was a little more arrogant and hot headed than the others, he had the qualifications to back it up. What he said about being a great warrior was no lie, for being a Stage 1 creature. He could probably fight with Faruth evenly at Stage 1, which made him an even stronger foe than Fulbash! Luckily, he was on Faruth;s side.

["I am Grum, a Satyr, just like Maal over there. I am not that good of a fighter, but I am quick on my feet. I used to be a scout in my old village!"] {Grum}

Finally, it was onto the last arrival, the biggest and strongest of the 6. Rumbal, the Lesser Minotaur.

["Me Rumbal. Me strong! Me very strong! But Chieftain stronger! Rumbal work for Chieftain!"] {Rumbal}

Faruth appreciated simple people like this, they were easy to work with, at least when they agreed with you. Though they were both monsters, the Satyrs were undoubtedly more intelligent than Rumbal, but they weren't nearly as strong. There, all 6 of them stood in front of him, their new Chieftain.

There are also some things that I would put in the author's note, but I can't because of the 500 character limit. There is a distinction between monsters and beastmen. The Lizardmen and Goblins are considered monsters, along with the Gnolls too. Faruth and the other Stage 2 creatures are considered beastmen. If going by names, Faruth would be a Wolf beastman, but I decided to call him a Kobold instead. The only reason that I have called the others names like Tigerkin, Leopardkin etc. is because I don't have any names for them yet. If you want to make suggestions to what you think they should be called, feel free to leave a comment and I will pick the ones that I like the best, but just to clear up confusion, lower ranked monsters such as Gnolls or Goblins might not evolve into beastmen. They are more likely to evolve into higher forms of monsters, such as High Gnolls or something along those lines. Only a select few evolve into beastmen, who have much greater power than monsters of the same rank. Amongst the new special arrivals, the two Tigerkin are beastmen, the Satyrs and the Minotaur are monsters and the Dwarf is a demi-human, but I think they don't really need an explanation.

SLIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD: READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION!!

Another thing is the ranks, or stages. Faruth and the rest are currently at the second rank, which is the highest that has currently appeared in the story so far, as you all know. I am planning to make the ranks up to 10, which would be something like the strongest class of Dragon, but who knows, there may be something even further beyond that...

To go with it, the levels to evolve aren't static, i.e they aren't 10 - stage 1, 20 - stage 3 etc. Instead, I will list them down below:

**********************************************************

1-9 (Stage 1) The average Gnoll, Goblin and Lizardman is here

10-29 (Stage 2) Faruth and his aides are currently here, Faruth is currently level 14

30 - 59 (Stage 3)

60 - 99 (Stage 4)

100 - 149 (Stage 5)

150 - 199 (Stage 6)

200 - 269 (Stage 7)

270 - 349 (Stage 8)

350 - 449 (Stage 9)

450 - ??? (Stage 10) The strongest class of Dragon is here

??? - ??? (Stage ???)
