Noah side stepped avoiding an invisible wave of Essence that blasted by his side. His dragonified arm stretched out, his Essence flowing within and executing his Battle art, pulling his dark haired teacher, Liam, towards him before clenching his fist and unleashing a punch.

His mentor smirked, allowing the pulling force acting on him to drag him forward. Upon reaching the range of the Half-dragon's punch, Liam suddenly twisted and tapped onto his fist.

Noah grunted, feeling the weight on his fist suddenly increase, making him lose his balance and allowing the mentor to land a punch on his chin, making him nearly bite his tongue off. The transmigrator grunted, washing his fist with his Essence and clearing off the foreign Essence that coated it.

He flickered, appearing in the air. That position left him open, prompting Liam to raise his hand and flicked his fingers, launching multiple wind projectiles at the Half-dragon. Noah glanced at this with his calculative mind and bent his legs while midair as if preparing for a run. The Essence dissipating after his use of Flicker seemed to gather back once more, allowing him to use a bit of it for his new Battle art.

Suddenly the empty air beneath his soles solidified, shining with a silver hue and allowed him to gain a foothold midair. He took advantage of that, jumping off into the distance and allowing him to dodge the attacks and slashed at the air, launching multiple Essence blades with Gale Sword.

The new Battle art was the Third Step within the Void Step called Spatial Platforms. A move that granted him a foothold in the air and increased his maneuverability in the air.

Liam circulated his Essence, summoning a thick concentrated wall of air that blocked the attacks. Noah didn't get discouraged by the easy block and Flickered, teleporting multiple times and creating 2 afterimages that converged onto his mentor together with him. This was the Mirage skill, the Second Step of the Void Steps. He had displayed it once before while fighting the Devilsoul master called Evan but limited by his little Essence Core, he could not summon more than 2 afterimages that he could switch places with.

The dark haired teacher scoffed and snapped his fingers, releasing a gravitational field that slowed the Half-dragon down. Seeing this, Liam nodded in satisfaction. "Oh, you can still move?" He snapped his fingers again, causing his student to smash face first into the floor.

Noah groaned, sitting back up once the pressure on his back disappeared. "Barely a minute."

Liam laughed as he heard this while helping him up. "You should be proud of this. Probably only Emery and Elaine can last as long as you. I see obtaining the complete Void Step manual has been helpful."

"Yes. And I'm hoping to go on a mission soon, there's another Battle art that caught my eye." Noah had gotten four things from the academy treasury. One of the two Battle arts he had gained was the full Void Step Battle art while the other was a journal that granted him insights to the Execution Flow technique. Meanwhile the treasures had managed to push him to the 7th level of the Intermediate Stage and the effects had brought him to the cusp of the 8th in only a few 7 months.

"Oh? What might that be?" Liam rose his brow and asked. He knew that Noah had a lot of skills in his arsenal, as his mentor, he also knew of the Half-dragon's all encompassing 'Body-type Battle art' called the Azure Dragon Art which contained attack, defense and speed based skills. So he wondered what kind of Battle art could interest his student when he had such a Battle art already.

Noah rose his hand and tapped onto the watch on his wrist, activating an instrument that first shocked him the first time he saw it. Upon its activation, a holographic board revealed itself before the two of them, displaying its content.

Noah had been very shocked when he saw this items because of the technology needed to create them. He had then later found that the information shown was only that which had already been recorded by the school and required his Essence to be displayed.

The academy's instrument called the Star Record displayed a Battlesoul master's information and allowed them to place orders for the booking of preferred Training rooms or Tutors. It also allowed them to buy resources within the academy's Repository.

He scrolled down, picking the Booklist option on the Record and the item displayed another set of information.

Spatial Edge – 14,500 Credits

An attack based Battle art based on the Space element that boasts of its sharp and quick attacks. Possesses five skills, with ranging Essence consumption rates depending on the way of its use.

Void Fang – 9,000 Credits

A longsword created from the fangs of a Void Wyvern, a space type Essence beast. Its blades originating from such a beast, increasing the efficiency of space related attacks.

Enchantments:

Transposition; Allows the user to teleport half of the blade to any desired position within a 20 meter radius.

"Hmm." Liam scratched his chin and nodded. "These two are indeed a good choice for you. I think I know the perfect mission for you. There's a mission that popped up at the border connecting Star city to the Ravine Forest. It's a simple extermination quest, but you might need some people to follow you there. Still, it pays well even if you divide it among your team."

Noah contemplated for a bit before nodding. "Thanks teacher. I'll arrange a few of my former friends to accompany."
