2 Tears

''Don't expect any love or care from dhruv''

The words echoed in her mind. everytime she paced around the room in impatience, his words haunted her back.

It wasn't an unexpected outcome. she was used to such kind of rejection. The thing she most craved for was always distant from her. but she still hoped.

Hoped to be loved someday.

She ambled towards the small bathroom to wash off herself from the tired day. The moment she had seen the room, she knew that she was being treated like a complete garbage. Again not something very unexpected!

She opened the tap and the shower had bursted out on her body in million droplets. They sting on the portions that were carved by her ill fate and misery. Bruises and whip lashes. Some fresh red, reciting the events of a few days back. while other turned out to be dry as brown.

While the spray rained on her body, she skimmed her fingers over the marks. How much they had hurt was incomparable to the marks that had  been engraved permanently in her heart.

She turned towards the bathroom mirror. a tall, pale woman with glistening chocolate brown eyes and long black hair stared back. Her medium brown skin looked pale and huge eye bags hung shamelessly from her eyes.

Her whole appearance reflected on her afflictions and struggles.

The emotions playing in her mind were soon replaced by the picture of the man she met today.

His appearance was exactly how she imagined. As a child, when she had set her eyes upon him for the first time, she had felt a strange attraction towards him. And the more distant he was, the more it tend to grow stronger. but she wasn't very enlightened with humanly attractions in those days.

She would've wished to stay that way. but it all changed the day she again heard of him in the news channels. She had seen his appearance there and she couldn't really do much, except get entrapped into the looks of the charming, tall man with a such a muscular build.

"He's your husband!"

She was been told this from the beginning of the day they both were tied up with the strings of marriage. even though she felt elated, she couldn't tell the same about him. His face had appeared anything but happy.

She wasn't allowed to stay with him. because they were children.

But now, when he was settled, she was given back to him. better to say, sold to him at a good price that her family paid.

But she didn't mind it !

Because the time she saw him, standing tall in front of her, butterflies danced in her belly. No doubt that he was extremely charming and any woman on first glance would get a small crush. Maybe she had a small crush on him too.

Meenakshi hopped on the bed with her wet hair soaking the bedsheet. She didn't care. and she knew that nobody would. Care for her.

She sighed and turned back to face the ceiling. The blades of the fan rotated slowly around its center.

A vision of his muscular build knocked back on her mind. Even though he was wearing a black shirt, his biceps were clearly visible from the satin. Be must be a regular in his work out. and it would be amazing if he grabbed her with those strong arms and kiss her.

Meenakshi suddenly realised what she was imagining and shaked her head to turn away the thoughts.

"Don't expect anything! remember?"

Meenakshi: mhmm. i know! wait! who are you?

"I'm your inner mind, idiot!"

"Oh!" Meenakshi mumbled.

"What oh? I just feel bad for myself! because i'm stuck in your head! "

"Huh? But why?"

"Because you're a walking dumb! I wish god would've planted me into some genuise's head! But poor fate! "

"Hey! I'm not dumb!" she protested.

"Yes you are! he literally threatened you and now you're thinking about his biceps? shame!"

"It's not my fault! The thought came randomly."

"Yeah! why not! it's because you like him! well, he really is drool worthy but he's out of your league!"

"Thanks for informing me! Didn't know."Meenakshi rolled her eyes.

"You know you're literally rolling eyes at your own thoughts!"

"Is that wrong?"

Her inner mind left a sigh.

"I knew that you are in need of a  pshyciactrist!"

"Wow! so considering the whole fact, I consider myself being mad?"

"Yes you do! and watching a living Greek God in front of you has just loosened your screws for the worse. God save me! I want to live!"

Meenakshi heaved a sigh of distress. The night was going to be long.

On the other side of the mansion, Dhruv pulled another glass of whiskey to settle his mind. The past, the memories he was trying to suppress so long had re-surfaced today! All because of that girl!

"Promise me! Promise me you'll marry her!"she had said to him.

He ran his hand through his black straight hair. He didn't know why he thought of keeping his dead mother's promise. Her grave wouldn't mind if he disobeyed her promise! Then, why?

But he had a rule! He keeps his words! If he doesn't this time, then it'll bring a shame to his character. He wouldn't be a man of principle then.

Dhruv's chain of thoughts were broken by a sudden knock on the door.

"Come in."

Iqbaal walked inside the room and bowed his head in respect to his boss.

"The cargo shipments have arrived." Iqbaal stated.

"Have you checked them?"

"Yes. They don't have any defects."

"Very well. Dismissed."

Dhruv commanded in his grave tone. Iqbaal bowed again and was about exit the room, when a voice stopped him. He turned back to face Dhruv who was staring at the ceiling.

"Yes?"

"Bring me all the details of that Meenakshi!"
